I hate waking up in the night with reflux like that. Makes you feel horrible. Did you take anything such as Gaviscon or Rennies to settle it? Hope you feel better soon.

We used to have Gypsy Tart, which could be similar. It's very much a Kent thing and I don't think you can get it anywhere else
Made with dark brown sugar and evaporated milk. We get very excited when we spot it in a bakers window.

Naughty but nice.

My primary school dinners were really nice - the ones I remember liking were the sausage hotpot, liver/bacon casserole, macaroni cheese, Swedish apple charlotte and sponge with jam sauce (sounds horrible, but it wasn't!) and I have them to thank for my love of coffee because whenever imagination failed them, they gave us each a mug of milky coffee and an apple for pud!
But I also remember one of the lunch prefects who told us to "eat what you can and eat what you can't"!  (Think she got her wires crossed there!)
