I agree. The mere fact that some are recommending everyone takes statins indicates to me that there is something very wrong with the science.

Hello ladies.

 I understand that we make our own cholesterol and extra is obtained from saturated fat in our food. As the only source is animal products it may be worth trying a plant based diet to see how much this can help. From what I've read the science supports this idea however there is an emphasis on drug treatments encouraged  by the pharmaceutical industry for obvious reasons!

The fat in the diet link with cholesterol levels is rapidly becoming debunked by more and more mainstream medical professionals.  Check out Dr Kendicks website from the link at the beginning of this thread.
