Period pain
« on: May 22, 2017, 05:28:10 PM »

I have been taking the combined contraceptive pill for severe period pain for most of my life.  Now that I am 50 years old my GP has said that I can no longer take it.  I know that when I stop taking it the period pain will come back as well being very irritable and really moody (I did stop it briefly about 3 years ago).  Does anyone know of any remedies or medications that I can take?

I had DREADFUL period pains which is why I went onto The Pill as I didn't want children either.  There was a drug the name escapes me which was taken 2 days prior to an expected bleed in order to relax the muscles which caused the pain, it was the only thing that worked for me.

Maybe have a chat with a Pharmacist in your area, they have private rooms in most Chemists - then let us know?
