BBC One. Thursday, 20th April 2017
Everything you always wanted to know about the Menopause (but were too embarrassed to ask).

Emma:
Helpful discussion in the press about the programme and the Langer paper at https://www.theguardian.com/society/2017/apr/15/menopause-kirsty-wark-breaking-the-silence

‘I just coped': Kirsty Wark on breaking the silence about menopause.

Kirsty's BBC documentary is the latest example of articulate women talking about ‘the change'

Kirsty is fronting a documentary: The Menopause and Me. Her involvement in the programme comes from her own sudden and unexpected experience. She had a “medical menopause” at the age of 47, after a hysterectomy and after coming off hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Aside from the obvious physical battle she had to endure, what Kirsty also struggled with was the apparent silence surrounding the menopause.

Kathleen:
Hello Emma.

I thought  I would inform you and the other ladies on the forum that in my area this programme has been replaced by a political debate.  I can't find any notification of a new broadcast date and wonder if other MM members are having the same problem. So much for a higher profile for the menopause, didn't  last long did it!

Also I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the work you do for the forum, it is much appreciated.

Take care.

K.
