We had a wasp nest about 2years ago, above our patio window,
and by our bedroom window, (we're out back)
And we had some kind of insurance that covered this.
The insurance people sent someone, and within 2days completely gone...

We couldn't risk having our bedroom window open either, luckily,
it only lasted about 4days in total.....

They seem to have, Lanzalover.  Last night we still kept the window shut, just in case there were any stragglers still buzzing about, as it had only just been done; but today we've had the window open since midday and we're looking forward to our first ventilated night's sleep for a week.  I never knew before how exciting fresh air could be!   ::)

I have been sleeping fairly well under 4.5 tog quilt and in my birthday suit! I have told my teens not to barge in my room without knocking first if someone is ill in the night...I don't want to scar them for life🙈

    :whist:  ......... the larges spider we had in a very old house filled a pint beer glass  :o even the it was put over the critter the feet stuck out under the edge of the glass and as fast as I tried to push it over the windowsill, the faster it crawled back in .........

How you managed to go any where near it is beyond me CLKD.
I would have just watched it, until someone came and got rid off it.

They absolutely scare the hell out of me,
When my OH catches them, he messes about with them, pretending to throw them at me,
or even just walking towards me with them, I've told him he'll give me a heart attack
if it touches me......that's how my phobia is....
I tell him NOT to kill em, just to put them outside, which he does now, he used to kill em.
Killing them is on my conscience, which is just as bad as my phobia....so now he puts
them outside......

I try not to kill anything except rats and blue bottles.  Having had a 2nd chance, twice ;-).

That 'someone' would have been who exactly  ;D. DH held the pint glass over the critter and I had a thick piece of card underneath it.  Up went the sash window and he tipped the glass outside, I used the thick card to push it back into the night until DH had pulled down the sash ........ when it ran over The Telegraph which was laying on the floor it sounded like a mouse  it was only when he leaned over the bed and went 'F***' that I realised it was likely to be BIG  :o   :D

I love that sound their feet make (do spiders have feet?) running over paper or that scratchy sound they  make on the wallpaper but, then again, I am strange apparently...  :D ;D
