He is going later but not sure if our chemist sells them.  We don't have a local superdrug and amazon want 7.99 for delivery!
They certainly have good reviews so I need to get them. There are lots of different types and a specific one for antibiotics

Hi purplenanny - I wouldn't worry too much about the probiotics right at the moment - they wont make a difference to how you are feeling - but it's good to get them eventually.

Neck pain and nausea can be side effects of nitrofuantoin (should be on the side effects leaflet) so try not to stress too much about it. I found that by the second day both of these side effects wore off. I see that you were suffering for a couple of days before you phoned the GP which means your level of bacteria may have risen quite high and so does lead to high temperature and feeling awful. By tomorrow you should begin to feel better I would think. I am a bit surprised that you have not been given a higher dose of antibiotics though. Have you got a fever? It's a good idea to check this if you have a thermometer.

Hi Taz, thanks very much for your reassuring post.

Surprisingly there wasn't a leaflet with the abs. I know that's wrong.

I don't have a thermometer but don't feel feverish. I did yesterday but better today.

It's mainly my head, neck and low down pain. I might take some more paracetemol. Sickness is easing after nibbling dried biscuits. Always difficult when feeling sick to actually eat

Thanks again PN x x

Were you given instructions to take the tablets with food? I found that if I had them after some biscuits or toast with a large glass of water it helped. This is the information leaflet https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/PIL.22065.latest.pdf  which doesn't mention neck pain but the pharmacist had printed that side effect on the label.

Told you Taz was the expert.

Bet you wish you weren't Taz.

Blooming miserable thing though. Maybe need to think about Vagifem PN, although your infection might not be down to that.

Hope you start to improve really soon.

Maybe try some dry toast or a little soup, just to put something in your tummy.

Not sure about being an expert but, yes, I would rather not know anything about it! Hope you're feeling better pn?

Hi Ladies

I have had a good sleep this afternoon and a small amount of mashed potato this evening
( I love mash and always eat it when I start feeling better!!)

The sickness has eased and my head is not so pounding. Still burning below, but much better

I see light at the end of the tunnel! Tomorrow should see me even better.

Quick question, should I keep taking the sachets from the chemist, alongside the abs? I have been doing this but wasn't sure. I have 3 left. It does say to take them all but I don't know if this is if you don't have the abs? I guess they won't harm

Glad that the ABs seem to be improving symptoms!

Thanks CLKD, just a shame they bring their own problems! Are you going to try the probiotic tablets? They seem to have good reviews

Taz, meant to say thanks for the leaflet link. Yes, it said on the box to take with food x x

Finally feeling better, albeit totally washed out.
Still experiencing low down heaviness and needing the loo,  but 2 more days of abs so hopefully all will go when they are finished
Having a cozy lazy day not doing much. Not much energy
Thanks for helping me ladies  :thankyou:

I hope it works for you. I was given that one 3 months ago and it didn't do anything for me.
