Well that's refreshing to hear because it's not a subject to be flippant about when so many ladies are struggling is it.if teacakes work for you then all's well and good don't know if I'd class that as a protein and carbohydrate though would you.DD

We have cereal and milk some nights before bed,
and I've always said it helps us sleep! (But I did think I was just trying to kid myself)
But now I'm more convinced.
Good one DD....

Yeah you too.
My son used to say that I'd probably sleep better if I'd have something to eat before bed. Especially if, like me, you don't have much during the day, he'd say there's nothing to keep you going throughout the night, it's a long time through the night, and you're probably waking up so much because your body's hungry, even if You don't feel hungry.
He does know a lot about stuff like that, he used to be a body builder, but couldn't keep it up because he just couldn't eat all the stuff like they eat, and boy, do they eat a lot!
Working a three shift pattern didn't help. So he gave it up, but still eats healthy.
So yeah, peanut butter on crackers is one of our/his things.......

Came to bed at 7.45, had about 2 hours sleep before I woke up, now feeling wide awake and anxious :(. Started a new antidepressant today.

I have gradually got later and later going to bed to stop the early waking. I've never been good at sleep but now go to bed at 1 and wake up (finally after lots of half-wakings) at 6. I found if I went to bed at 11 I woke up at 4. Five hours seems to be my level.

It can take a while can't it to get used to a new anti depressant Mabel. I hope you can relax your mind soon and fall back to sleep.

Have you got anything you use to self-sooth yourself when you are anxious? Favourite film, TV programme or music? I've found that lying in bed waiting for sleep is useless. Much better to get up and do something if you can. How long did you sleep for?

I have found that since being on the omeprazole I sleep much better because I used to get woken up by heartburn if I'd turned onto my right side. That doesn't happen now. Hope the melatonin works for you sparkle.
