I had lessons from our practise nurse in how to inject hubby, I've never had to do it yet but I could if needs be.

Better to be prepared than not know how.

We were trained at the allergy clinic, but I'm useless, if something isn't fone repeatedly I can't remember !

Yes once everything had calmed down he talked about the bowels playing up and said kiwi is good but I'm allergic so prunes each day will always keep me moving (I feel like an old lady keep going on about my bowels)

He was impressed how I did the manual jobby last week with the faecal impaction and said I saved myself another A&E visit

I feel sick tonight, maybe I ate too many prunes in one go so I'm just sipping water

On a different subject, the 5 other ladies on my ward were all above 70 and I said to OH I had this real urge to gather them all round and to tell me their menopause stories, one was a little tiny 85 year old who fell at home cutting her head, badly bruising her face and broke her arm but she was so sprightly and energetic bless her, gave me real hope that my energy will return one day.

I also was praised and thanked by the nursing staff as I took the pressure off our bay running around after them getting things for them, even through the night ! When OH got there this morning they were still asking me to do things for them and it made him smile

Are you better now?  I have sent an e-mail to my Pharmacist friend ……..

You may find that prunes en masse will cause bloating until the bowel begins to pass them ……. = nausea.  Figs?  Apricots? I have prunes in syrup …….. fresh mangoes from Pakistan will be available soon, one needs to sit in the bath with those  ;D

Still not been !
Noticed today skin is peeling from lips, they're so sore
I'm allergic to mangos too :-(
I've just bought dried prunes so I can nibble on them at work, I'm over the anaphylaxis but I feel weird today, I feel nervous and more off balance than usual

Didn't have my oestrogen Friday because of it and took 1mg instead of 2 last night to see if maybe if feel better on less, maybe I'll take 2mg again tonight and start seeing about reducing it when I feel better

Your body has had a shock, be kind to it!  Feet up, cuppa, good book!

What's in fruits that you are allergic too - may I eat your mango then  ;)

Are U able to tolerate Actimel? (sorry if you've said already  ::) ) because I found that 2/3 pots daily eased my bowel problems after a week/10 days.  However, they have fruit in  :-\ …….. LIVE yoghurt might work instead ……..

I'm ok with actimel
Re: fruits (bananas, mango, passion fruit, kiwi, avocado, guatamale, I can't remember them all unless I hear/see them) are apparently cross allergens to latex, I think latex is in the trunk of banana trees, and in others there's a protein released that is latex related, it's all so confusing and takes a reaction to add to my list, MSG (mono sodium glutamate is another allergen to me, I'm fine if it's been added during manufacture but can't tolerate it when added to cooking

I find this interesting but I bet it's difficult for you!  Latex is a common allergy relating to gloves ……..

Perhaps try Actimel for the bowels?  I used it for several years successfully: whereas I would 'go' every other day with a soft motion, when we went on holiday and I didn't drink any, the slow transit would return after 3 days.  I would notice I wasn't opening my bowel for 3/4 days which then equalled bloating and nausea.  Get home and start the Actimel the bowel settled again, at first I thought it was psychological  ::).  Then I went 'off' Actimel …….

how horrible! I'm glad you're ok now. What a nightmare.
OH had anaphylaxis to swordfish some years ago - v scary. NHS here won't give him an epipen either. Do they think he's going to go around stabbing himself unnecessarily?!

I hesitate to recommend anything, given your allergies, (I took movicol for nearly a year with no side effects), but if you're sick of prunes or they aren't working, can you tolerate ground golden linseed? It's a wonder for constipation, recommended by a gastro enterologist I saw. Also high in omega 3s.

Hope no more dramas for you!

Thank you ladies, prunes have worked
I've bought some dried ones now so now the process has started again a few a day should be fine from what doc was saying

Balloons are another for me, I remember when my 3 children were at parties and I'd pick them up they'd be frantic in case any child came near me with a balloon!

I was at a BBQ years ago and there was a punch with kiwis floating on top, obviously I didn't have any but at the end of the night I was kissing everyone goodbye on the cheeks and that caused a reaction !

Actually I started having another mild reaction to something yesterday morning in hospital but that one was sorted with anti histamines, I'm usually needing them at least a few times a week for mild ones that I don't know what's causing it

Mondays are a nightmare for work, I seriously start 7.30am, no breaks because I have until wed 10am to get my payroll done so eat and drink through working and finished 6.15 this evening and back in 7.30am tomorrow

I'm bruised, badly from both cannula sites and this morning I still felt shaky with a weird headache, but all said and done, I'm back to my meno self lol

Lips a bit sore where the skin all peeled but I don't think it's noticeable with lippy on, my boss kept asking if I was ok to carry on and I kept reassuring her I'm fine

Oh I you tubed this epipen (it's the newer version) and its so seriously easy to use I could kick myself I didn't do it Friday but at least I know now

To hand then?   ;)

Did you tell the Pharmacist: or did he ask: about allergies?
