I just can't get this to settle.

I have started to cut out so many foods to try and get some relief. It's not that painful, just uncomfortable. The throat feeling is the worse, I'm constantly clearing my throat although my throat is not sore.

I'm on Lansoprazole at the moment. I tried Nexium but that made things worse if that's possible.

I'm starting to get a bit worried to be honest as although I've had this before it's never lasted quite so long.

I'm thoroughly fed up.

Any one got any ideas of what might help or do I just have to accept this is the way things are going to be and learn to live with it.

You might like to read up on this condition. It is related to heartburn but doesn't actually cause heartburn (the word silent in the name)  Laryngopharyngeal Silent reflux (LPR). I have just put my own question about this on the forum.

Hi honeyb.

Some of your symptoms sound a lot like LPR -Laryngopharyngeal reflux - try googling it. A consultant told me I had it after a check with a camera up my nose and down the back of my throat. I didn't believe it at the time as prev I'd had well controlled reflux for years.

I thought I had some sort of chest or throat infection - constant cough, phlegm in the back of the throat, feeling like difficult to swallow tablets. Turns out he was right - he recommended Gaviscon Advance and it really helps. (But it's disgusting  :sick02: )

As a child I was told by adults, that the more horrid a medicine is, the more likely it is to solve the problem  :-\ ……..
