Is this the same as root can treatment?
I didnt have to have the tooth out. What they did was remove the nerve and drill out a hole
Then they almost drilled away the entire tooth left just a bit at the side packed it with antibioritcs
And built a composite tooth over the top. I waited for 2 weeks. Went back they removed the compisite tooth
Then they cleaned out the hole and  put a titanium rod down the hole
They warned me that this part I would feel as they had to make sure the rod didnt touch the jaw bone
It did and I screamed F,,,,,,,, they heard me in the waiting room. They then cemented the rod in place
And built a complete composite tooth again. That was in 2004 Im sure its all different now
I went 3 times once for the check up xrays and planning, Then 2 times for 2hrs in the chair each time@done.
Cost private in 2004 was 800 pounds $1,700 for one tooth Its still in and I have a check up every 12mnths.
I was tricked I thought I was going for a filling as Im dental Phobic I vommit cry Ive even fainted
I go with an IPOD with the CURE Disintergration album on full blast. I have to go to the dentist b4 Xmas
Other wise my mas is ruined IM scared witless BUT I ALWAYS GO Bobbles says thats bravery doing something
That really terrifies you. YOU HAVE ALL MY HUGS YOU BRAVE GIRL XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

No SuziQ - MORNING!

Root canal treatment is removal of the root - implant is the making of a suitable tooth to replace 1/more removed either recently or historically.  One of my implants had been root canalled many years ago but the gum had receded allowing infection.

My god - aren't we all brave!

I feel OK now, no pain in tooth and fairly calm mentally.  At work this afternoon [secondary teacher] so that will take my mind off everything! :D

I did and it took my mind off everything else.  I always find keeping busy is a cure for all my anxiety, it takes me out of my own mind.

All OK with tooth extraction but am going to hygienist today for further treatment on gums.   I have to go every 3 months now and wasn't due until May but brought it forward as one bit of gum keeps bleeding.

So - I know she will just deep clean and tell me 'it is a work in progress', so why am I plunged into anxiety and convinced I will have no teeth by mid afternoon????

Am taking positive action - why can't I kick ass on this one??!!

Years++ ago I went to a hygienist - well I think she hated the World  >:( - she was rude, un-kind, nasty - I vowed I would never go to one again.

Our new Dentist is lovely  :-* and his Staff are good, even his Hygienist  ::)
