Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good type of kitchen flooring
when you have a dog that scratches the top off the cushion flooring.

Most flooring seems to have problems,  either too cold,  slippy when wet, etc.
Anyone have the same problem ?

There are linos that are really tough - like the ones you get in hospitals.  They tend to be non slip as well.  If you go into a good flooring shop they wil usually advice about which type will withstand the activity of dogs etc.
I have recently done our kitchen and hall floors and we found these fab tiles that look like wood so they have a slightly uneven surface and mud brought in by the dog doesn't show - it dries and then I can just brush it up.  I thought it would feel cold underfoot but it's great. Like wood, there are variations in the colours and tones within the pattern of each tile - everyone who see it loves the look and touches it because they can't believe it's not wood!

There are some good recycled rubber floors now designed for bathrooms and kitchens.

Laminate is good. You can get marble effect stuff now which is what I have in my kitchen. It's a bit slippy for the dog but the entertainment value of watching her run on the spot before she gets some traction is great.

  yes those "Looney Tunes" running on the spot moments are hilarious aren't they? My cat does it too with a handbrake turn to avoid crashing into the patio blinds.

My little dog regularly crashes into the kitchen door when she can't stop.
Then she runs away and does it all over again. Don't know why she finds it fun but she obviously does.

If it was anything other than a hard floor then it would be shredded.

Hettie had been ill for a while, but went down hill last few days.......have her ashes now to scatter at the river where she has had hours of fun xxxxx

We kind of know when it's time don't we  - I scattered my cocker's ashes on what would have been her 14th birthday, where she loved running in fields that will never be built upon.

We put in new flooring on the ground floor but in her old age she couldn't get traction and that was one of the reasons she had a bad back, oh hindsight  ............ even rugs on the top caused her to skid when she had a 'mad' moment.

Flotex- I had this for 16 years on my kitchen when I moved to this house
I have a Burnese mountain dog and 2 years ago I had my wall knocked out to make a kitchen diner and I have flotex again this time.
Warm under foot,good to walk on for humans and pets,very easy to clean.
If you spill something on it you just scrape it up then deal with remaining with carpet cleaner.
Wouldn't have anything else.
