Help needed about changes and fluctuations in hormone levels
« on: January 15, 2014, 08:45:37 PM »

Hello all,
Still new here and finding my way around this amazing site.

I wanted some advice on changes and fluctuations in hormone levels. I have had times, which can be up to several weeks at a time, when I feel that the hot flushes seem to be getting less ( mine last up to an hour and the heat is excruciating feeling like my body is on fire from the inside out).

Last summer and early autumn it seemed they got less and started up at 4 am instead of almost as soon as I fell asleep after going to bed. But now very suddenly they are as bad as they were when at their worst. Is this a cycle of hormonal changes and can I look forward to the “better” times again? Up to now I haven't made a record of my night's sleep and sleep disruption as I was trying to just go with it, thinking I would now be getting to the end after about 3 years. I did try and reduce but this didn't work out (HOT! >:() so I have been back on HRT one a day.

Is this change and fluctuation in the intensity and/or frequency of menopausal symptoms normal, in your experience will I settle back to something more manageable??

Thanks
