I love Pirates of the Caribbean, all of them, in fact anything with Johnny Depp in does it for me.

The film I really love is an oldie, Thelma and Louise (I can relate to Thelma a lot!)

Hey Dreamer I love Thelma & Louise & I also like Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill. Tarrentino really is good director.

Hey Leah if you haven't seen Thelma & Louise how do you know it is violent?  ??? ???

No seriously I am not into too many violent films & I did love the incredible yourney & I cried at the same bit as Leah. I like most films with Bruce Willis in espicially Die Hard  :P :P. I also like Young Guns, It's a wonderful Life & a lot of comedies too - just can't think of my favourite one at the moment. I'm not really into musicals though.

I see you like musicals, Leah; so do I!!

I would include West Side Story & South Pacific & The Sound Of Music in fact most Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals especially Carousel, My Fair Lady & Oliver! which I saw 8 times in the cinema when it first came out!! ;D

My tastes are very old-fashioned both in music & films......I think it reminds me of an England that sadly no longer exists!!

The Apartment.....excellent film with Jack Lemmon.
Goodbye Mr Chips.......(the 1939 version with Robert Donat!! ;))
It's a Wonderful Life......I adore Jimmy Stewart!!
Mr Skeffington......little known but lovely film with Bette Davis & Claude Rains
Call Me Madam.......I adore Donald O'Connor as well!!
A Star is Born......not the crappy version with Barbra Streisand ;)
Some Like it Hot.....fantastic!!
Singing In The Rain
Ben-Hur......I watched some of it last week (it is 5 hours long) & sobbed at the end as I always do!!
I know Where I'm Going
The Life & Death Of Colonel Blimp

I'm sure I shall think of many more......I realise most of them are fairly obscure & most people won't have heard of them!! ;D

Brief Encounter - again and again and again (but the ending never changes!)

And any of the old black and white ones ......

Black Narcissus (is that the one with the nuns up the mountain?)

African Queen (in fact anything with Katherine Hepburn or Bette Davis in them)

High Society/Philidelphia Story

Fantastic choices, Bramble.......you might like:-

The October Man
This Happy Breed.........both of which starred John Mills (another favourite of mine!! ;))
Mandy
Passport To Pimlico
The Titfield Thunderbolt
Kind Hearts & Coronets

As you can see I'm a mine of useless information!!!  ;)

I only recently ditched a B/W video of Mandy .......... I saw it as a child and cried, when I saw it as an adult it didn't have the impact.

I didn't say that Thelma and Louise is violent ........ it was an add on sentence as my mind was running ahead of me  ;)

I love Jimmy Stewart's voice ..........  :-*

Hubby is a great one for watching films again and again - in fact I think he could play Kevin Costners part in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves
I would choose
Shawshank Redemption
Some like it Hot
Little Women (just before ChristmaS)
Wonderful Life ditto
Waterworld (cos I do like Kev)

Am not too good at watching films as after the first hour I lose interest and then am forever saying "who's that" and "what are they doing?" much to everyone elses annoyance  ::)

However, there is one film I watched (twice) and didn't move for the whole thing (twice) which impressed those who know me greatly. The film is..... Convoy. I just love trucks. Any kind of trucks - my new man bought me a subscription to Trucking Monthly for Christmas..... I think it was Kris Kristofferson but am no good with actors so it might have been someone else but it was the trucks that did it for me  :ola:

Jesus Christ Superstar - there that is my secret out.
My husband couldn't believe it 2 Xmas's ago when I said I just had to watch it. I had not seen it since it was released decades ago.
I love all the songs in it especially I don't know how to love him & everything's all right & of course the title song.

I saw JCSuperstar when it was first released, I came out of the cinema feeling brainwashed.  The other that puts the hairs up on my neck is 'Fiddler on the Roof' ........ "Tradition" makes me chilly right through .......

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (dont ask me why!)
Bridges of Madison County
Man without a face
Braveheart
Imitation of Life (Lana Turner)  another oldie!

Ooh ElaineR, yes I use to love watching the old b/w movies with Bette Davis in. My mum use to call her names because she always played a bi**h - but how well she played them.
Madison County with Clint Eastwood in, is that the one? I read the book & then watched the film. A great film but then I do like most films in with Clint Eastwood especially if he has a ponco on & a big fat cigar hanging out the corner of his mouth.  ;) ;)

I know this is worlds apart from most of the choices on here but 'Kevin & Perry go large'  just makes me howl with laughter, I think I must have watched it about 4 times  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I used to love watching the old black and white films - Girls of St Trinians, Blithe Spirit.....

Others would be the Breakfast Club
Ghost
Rocky Horror Show

I would love to watch the 'Green Mile' all the way through  ???  twice I have missed the first half  :bang: but a couple of weeks ago I found it on sale locally, just waiting for a few hours to myself to curl up and watch it  ::)
