I have used this service (e-mail) and it is great.  Dr Currie came back very quickly with a thorough answer to my questions and enabled me to speak to my GP knowledgeably about changing my HRT. It has probably saved me months of chopping and changing preparations. Brilliant for those of us who don't have access to a meno clinic or specialist doctors.

Hi all

I had a telephone consultation with Dr Currie today, she was very kind and understanding, I then went to GP and result is that I am being taken off HRT and going on contraceptive pill. Thanks you Dr Currie for this great service!

A nice thank you note from a happy lady...

"I would like to express my very sincere thanks for all the advice you have given me over the past few weeks.  You have made such a difference to my life, it has been so reassuring and made things clear to me so I was able to make an informative decision and stop worrying.

This is a great service, I have my life back and I can't thank you enough."

Is that from someone on the Forum Emma or from another source?

Why not say openly if it's someone on the Forum  :-\

That's great news and encouragement for other forum members to use the e-mail consultation service! It doesn't matter at all who it is -  it's the sentiment that's important!   I also did notice someone on the forum yesterday who had used this service and was very happy with the outcome and subsequent doctor's consultation - as I have too.

We will continue to promote it where appropriate...

I also wondered if it was someone from outside the forum and I hoped they might join if that was the case to get continued support and encouragement.  :)

Actually - it matters to me.  Which is why I posed the query.  Why not be open if 1 has received a helpful post/message, support/encouragement - I don't bite  ;D [unless there is a 'y' in the day]

I think if it was from a member they would have posted anyway and said how helpful it had been, so most likely a non member so the anonymity is correct.

How nice that people are finding the service helpful and say so  :)

Hi, How long does it usually take to receive a reply from Dr Currie for an email consultation please?

It depends how busy she is - I have only done this a couple of times and both were within a few days - but the last time was 4 years ago. Maybe someone who has had one recently can comment?

Thanks Hurdity.  It is over a week now, so I am wondering if she received it ok.

Hi Jackie I also sent my payment for question via email yesterday and it says if you have not received a reply in a couple of days to email [email protected] hope this helps but I'm guessing she's just a very busy lady and will get around to us eventually.good luck.x
