I've read that magnesium is good for anxiety. I already take high dose vit D, b complex, iron & omega 3.
I've read up that magnesium glycinate is the best, but when i look it up in Boots or Holland & Barrett etc, its mostly magnesium oxide (which seems useless for anxiety & can have a laxative effect which will not be good for me as i already suffer with bowel problems with my cf).
Does anyone take magnesium glycinate for anxiety & where do you get it please?
Also, does it actually work?
Thank you.

Yes I took the glycinate one,it was fab, slept better and my low mood went, stopped them for now as I started getting an upset stomach BUT I'm not saying it was the magnesium, just ruling things out at the minute, the glycinate is supposed to be kinder on the stomach, I got mine through Amazon
-
I'm glad it worked for you. I heard it can have an effect on the stomach but hear glycinate is kinda than the cheap oxide one.
I'll try amazon, thanks.

Forgot to ask what strength did you take?
-
It was 300mg I think,I'm sure they were called "smarter" I only ever took one a day but they say to build it up to 3 daily but I found the one helped x
-
Yes found them great for sleep and nighttime anxiety.
-
Hope they work for you 🤞🤞
-
Just ordered some from Amazon arrive today, so let’s hope they help! 🙏🤞
-
Please let me know if they work for you :)
-
Have they helped any Lorna?
-
Hi Jaypo, I’m really not sure if they are helping, though it’s early days I should think it takes time, maybe a little bit of help, will keep you posted 🙏 x
-
Please do Lorna, yep, maybe it works differently on different people,so give it a few weeks BUT if you get stomach cramps etc, stop taking them xx
-
Thanks Jaypo, I didn’t know they can cause stomach cramps, I’veconly been taking one capsule at night so far though it says can take two, such a journey this peri isn’t it? X
-
It’s unusual for glycinate to cause stomach cramps. If you’re getting on ok with it you should up the dose to two.
I take three with no issues, all at night.
Hope they help xx
-
Yes,it IS supposed to be kinder on the stomach.......just not mine....typical!!! >:(
-
It’s all a bit complicated Jaypo, something to do with if it’s buffered!
This might help make it clearer.

So, I think it very much depends on the brand you’re using.
I use Love Life Supplement Magnesium Bisglycinate. Contains 240 capsules
Serving size 4 capsules (Magnesium Bisglycinate 2750mg of which Magnesium 303mg).
Xxxx
-
Thank you my lovely, very good of you, will try these instead xx
-
Hope they work for you jaypo xx
-
Just looked on Amazon and 88 herbs sell a non buffered magnesium Bisglycinate. Lots of info.
I don’t actually know if mine is non buffered but I believe it is xx
-
You're speaking about the magnesium,right? ;D
-
Yes indeed I am!
88 herbs are the link I sent you earlier.
Don’t worry too much though, I think it’s just a case of finding the right brand for you.
Just have a longer read of it all when you feel up to it.
Nitey xx

I take magnesium glycinate from amazon This one https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B082HXHP83/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have anxiety - it's hard to say if it works, I take other stuff, and I dunno what I would be like without them. I cycle my supplements and nootropics, I leave the drug type nootropics alone.
I love the way it makes my legs twitch as if tension is leaving them. Odd, I know.
I've been taking it for a while.
