Post by: Amandataylor on October 17, 2020, 02:50:27 AM
Hi I am at the end of my first cycle of gel and utrogestan which has improved my sleep enormously - however here I am day 27 and not taken Utrogestan it’s 3.49 and no sleep! Any suggestions please x

When I took Utrogestan I had a withdrawal during the 3 days we're not supposed to take it!

If  I remember correctly others on here have said the same. Utrogestan is quite sedating, one of the reasons I had to give it up. If you're otherwise happy with the Utrogestan this might be something that you can help with over- the - counter remedies for the 3 days?

Or maybe the body becomes accustomed,  hopefully someone who uses it more than I did will be along.

I didn't sleep properly for years thanks to peri and anxiety, so I know what you mean!

I still regard a solid 8 hours as a miracle but hrt has helped a lot.  :)

It's early days yet. Assuming your insomnia is a peri symptom it should improve with oestrogen. Mine took 3 months (on sequi so it was definitely the oestrogen that did it).

I was told by Newson clinic not to do the three days withdrawal, just take it continually.
