Post by: Anne47 on October 04, 2020, 03:29:10 PM
Hi this is my first time messaging on this site.. im 48 will be 49 in feb, my cycle has been irregular for a few years on and off, mostly moves to the shorter lenth cycle now and then, but on my normal length cycle i get midcycle discharge thats brown, just wondering how common this is please? Already spoke to my gp who is sending me for a scan just to be safe im sure.

Good to get a scan for a base line.

Yep.  My periods waxed and waned for several years and throughout my years I had brown stain.  Usually heavy, clotty periods then a gap of 36 hours B4 old blood i.e. brown loss for a day.  Enough for a pad.

Let us know how you get on with the scan.

I can't remember  ::) - menopausal brain here  ;)

It never bothered me, it was 'normal for me'.

Hi. I’m new too. I’ve had brown staining mid cycle too and at other times if this helps. GP said it’s because our hormones just aren’t high enough to stop mid cycle bleeding and some comes through. Hope this helps. X
