Tonight's programme brought tears to my eyes.  I hardly remembered any of the dances and 2 see the Zoom conversations between some of the Professionals was humorous.  There's another programme next Sat..  :-*

One of the contenders has had a non-symptom positive test  ::).  I understood that they were all isolating for the last 4 weeks  :-\

I’m a big fan of NFL, America Football, the BBC pundit Jason Bell is a contestant this year, he’s a lively personality and very easy on the eye  :D

Love it - prefer the way of meeting partners than the rather rigid on the dance floor format ........

Who will go out first?

Found it a bit long winded tonight, did some pausing to make a cuppa then fast forward some of the chat was getting tedious esecially the repitition re them being tested twice, isolating blah blah. Otherwise was enjoyable, Maisie certainly seems to have rhythm and confidence.

I think the MP might be first out, she looked a bit wooden, Bill Bailey moved better than I expected, but I didn't expect much  ;D

One or two of the men will be getting my votes, because they have nice personalities nothing to do with good looks  :whist:

Former boxer Nicola Adams and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones have left the BBC contest after Jones tested positive for Covid-19.
A statement said the programme's "protocols" meant the pair would now isolate and would not be able to take part in the rest of the serie

You don't watch?  It's on their web-site .  Same with the Rickshaw Challenge.  All supposed to be in bubbles but a camera man had a positive test returned.  Something. Somewhere.  Isn't working as we are told it would to be.

They have left their associated families and have isolated in a large Hotel.  Tested regularly.  Very few audience are allowed in. It's working thus far - what testers should find out now is how, if they are all in their personal bubbles, how anyone can return a positive test.

How long has Katya been carrying this virus without it showing on testing?  She is asymptomatic.  Apparently.  Or is the testing system not reliable?  Another opportunity for a Thesis !

I hate the programme, but what annoys me is people can't see family while a bunch of B list celebrities pass the virus around dancing.  >:(

Seems totally daft to me.

People are able to see family.  Kids can mix in schools but not outside in organised sports  ::).

Some care homes have now built pods ....... and the Strictly Family are in a Hotel in bubbles.  Supposedly  ::).

Which is why I am interested to know how long people carry viruses .  A few sports people have tested positive/negative/positive without showing symptoms, tests taking place every 2/3 days  ::).  Is it bad testing policies, bad Lab. practices?  These situations should enable those in Labs. to find out which will help as time progresses.

No family visits.

You need to take a closer look at the rules.

We'll have to agree to disagree there  ;D I really enjoy it and I am disappointed to see Nicola and Katya go out in this way. It is something to cheer me up on these lockdown evenings in and they have been separated and in bubbles.

Apparently Rylan has gone into isolation having met with some one outside that has tested positive - so much for that idea of a 'bubble'.

I can't meet up with family indoors or out other than just 2 of us meeting outside and they don't live close enough to make that worthwhile. I am not in a bubble with anyone (friend or family) because they are distributed quite widely around London and elsewhere. There is no one obviously nearby to pair with.

I just think it's wrong when there is so much Joe Public can't do.

U could include rugby and football players too ........... another thread if you want ?  Horse racing went into lockdown internally with jockeys wearing masks even to race which must have been difficult.

Joe Public will do fine.  We need entertainment ............

We meet friends outside at a distance.   Wearing masks.

So we need events to keep us entertained when we are stuck at home and stop this winter from being utterly dull and dreary.

Yep.   Hopefully Vicky Gill won't test +iv, that will put the cat amongst the feathers, literally  ::)

Who's going on Sunday then Katejo? I really thought it would be Katya and Nicola .......... hopefully not JJ  or Bill.  :-*

I can see one daughter and her hubby and baby but I can't see the other and my grandsons as you're only allowed in one bubble. Too many of us by about two to all meet for Christmas, let alone other extended family. Can take or leave Strictly but looking forward to Celebrity get me out of here. ;)
I may be staying at home on my own for the 1st time. There are too many of us to meet up (Dad, brother with wife and two kids, my other brother and myself).

Oh Katejo - how do you feel?  It's the chance to slum it in jimjams and have what you want on the TV ;-)

I suppose the TV will be out soon for C.mas/New Year  ;)

Katejo are you too far away to do relays? I think we might do something like that for immediate family. We normally have my ex mother in law and ex husband and his wife round to my daughters in the afternoon but that's 11!
Yes because my younger brother and Dad live on the other side of London.  I don't drive and there is no public transport on Christmas Day. My other brother lives in Leeds. What happens depends on whether the lockdown is eased at all in December. I like the idea of Christmas in my own home but my house is far too small to fit them all in with social distancing!

I think a lot of families will ignore number restrictions at Christmas. Can't say I'd blame them.
