On The 1 Show - what is the last thing that made you angry?
People parking outside my house without making sure that we aren't having visitors!
-
At the moment? EVERYTHING! 😡 🙀
We've got double yellow outside our house, but it doesn't stop people parking on them!
-

I don't think they have to, on a public road CLKD. If that happened in our road there would be nowhere to park at all.
-
Some lad that works for a local scaffolding company, picks up another lad from our road, everyday between 6 and 6.30am.
He thought is was a great lark to sound his horn repeatedly, as he went back down the road. >:(
Very, very annoying, but a quick email to the company stopped it.
-
Well done shadyglade. :medal:
Stellajane - what happens to your refuse? If you look at your Council web-site it will tell you. We have a dedicated 'officer' to contact ;)
They don't have to ask but it would be polite. They don't know whether we are expecting visitors so where would they park?
Today it's not having a safe place to pull off i.e. hard shoulder - many motorways have done away with them :-\

Re the hard shoulder CLKD. The M20 is like that now all the way from Dover/Folkestone to Maidstone. All because of 'Operation Brock'. Now that annoys me.
-
I can't think that it's safe not to have a pull over area ........... I was watching a short clip yesterday where a lorry hit the rear of a vehicle which spun round and another lorry caught the car :o which disintegrated ........ they all walked away with bruising :o
-
Cones get moved around here and end up in hedges or on top of street lamps ;D
We don't have many visitors. My point is that if people asked, I wouldn't mind. It niggles me that no-one is considerate enough to ask!
-
I don't really care so long as the drive is not blocked.
The road is public highway. Anyone can park there unless it's a private road.
-
Ooh, parking on pavements, now that really Ps me off.
-
The thing that seems to be sweeping the country is starting EVERYTHING you say with ....... SO.omg,I've even switched the tv off because of it 😡
-
Racial intolerance.
I just don't get it. We are all humans and individuals. Each culture and nation has its good and bad points but some just want scapegoats for their own problems.
That's been one of the very sad things about Brexit. Some people have used it as an excuse to be openly racist and there was a rise in hate crime straight after the referendum. The rise of far right groups is frightening. They really don't need any excuse to peddle their filth.
Very sad.
-
For me it is the blocking of our driveway. Our house is one of a very few on our street that has a long drive with gates at the end. Otherwise it is on street parking. That is okay but PLEASE leave our driveway clear and opposite it too as we still struggle to get out onto a fairly narrow road. Our neighbours are great and never block us in but others are not as thoughtful. And like other ladies the cars that park half on the road and half on the pavement making it impossible for mums with prams or disabled people with scooters to get through. That's my rant over. Happy International Day of Happiness ladies!!!!
-
On the car theme, people who park but leave their engine running.
Very environmentally damgeing.
-
;D. there were headlines in the Press last week about that: Schools are going to ask parents to park elsewhere rather than polluting the atmosphere around the School Gates. So we noted yesterday that out of the 11 cars waiting near our road - which blocks clear vision as it's on a corner - 7 had their engines running. :-\. It wasn't cold. It was 30 mins. B4 kick out .......... >:(
You miss my point Hummdinger :-\ and I believe that on the Statue Books is a Law which says that no one should park on the Queen's Highway. At least that's what my Police Brother in Law tells me. 'to allow free movement of the Monach of the Day along the Highway'.
-
Oh thank goodness Stella, thought I was the only one, apparently the maths lady on countdown has a major issue with it too and she's young,so we can't just say we're grumpy old women 😆 although..........
-
'welded to car seat' covers it exactly ;D
-
I work in a very busy village shop/post office and atm its the same mainly elderly men who buy the same newspaper every day then moan about Brexit! Don't read about it if you are fed up with it all. Also especially this time of year, men again i'm afraid who rush in to buy and post a mothers day card then complain about how much the card and stamp costs :( I actually said to one man I would give anything to have my mum back just for one year to be able to give her a card.
-
Well done you! It sometimes has to be said to remind others ;)
-

There was a woman sitting in a car doing just this whilst I did my walk this morning. I just didn't have the B's to tell her off as today you just can't be sure of what to expect when confronting someone
-
On the subject of parking, I live in a small village of just 3 streets, one of which is a main road. The houses are terraced houses and only half a dozen have drives. One side of the street has to park on the kerb as it's just impossible to drive through if they don't. When I first moved here over 30 years ago, only a few people had cars as there were a lot of elderly residents. Now most homes have at least 2 cars and not enough room to park. This has caused some neighbours to verbally abuse others who have parked outside their homes.
Recently we all had letters from the police stating that although in an ideal world, everyone would like to park outside their own house, it's just not possible and that as long as a car is taxed and insured and not causing an obstruction, it can be parked anywhere in the village. It also said that threatening and abusive behaviour towards others is a possible public order offence.

Not much makes me properly angry really. Silly things make me cross....like when you try to get one thing out of the wardrobe, it gets tangled up in the coat hanger next to it and then half a dozen other things fall down. Now that does annoy me on a regular basis.
Rude and impatient people make me feel cross.
Petty rules and unnecessary regulations.
Road or lane closures with cones where no one is working for days on end

-
Oh yes,bad manners, especially by shop assistants who barely look at you at the checkout,no hello, please thank you or goodbye, doesn't cost anything to be polite
-
Next question then? What constitutes an 'obstruction'? My local Police won't tell me. I was told that the only person who can complain is a mother with a buggy ......... :-\
This morning there were 5 cars parked on a blind bend which meant drivers having to be on the wrong side of the road for a quarter of a mile with no pull-in. All were parked the 'wrong' way, in a 30mph.
The Law still stands apparently but I can't find a Police man that will look 4 it - probably because it means doing some research in order to enforce an old Law.
-
However in this area emergency services cannot access easily. Two weeks ago a man died because there was no access for the fire brigade due to bad parking :'(.
An offence has been committed with regards parking on a blind corner. This is a public road with buses etc. trying to access with safety. Police drive by and simply don't look .........
-
Absolutely, without a doubt, Bad Manners....
It costs nowt, and even when I'm in the most bad ass mood , I'm always polite!
Treat people how you'd like to be treated, is my motto!
Another one is, .....people knocking the door, asking for you take someone's parcel in....😡
NO!
-
Parking on pavements has always been my bug bear, how some park is just selfish. Years ago when son was in a pushchair & living in Wales, I popped into Chepstow at bottom of hill there is a wide corner pavement, this particular day a car was parked on it so with a pushchair I had to go out onto road hoping no-one will come speeding down but when I looked to cross it happened to be a police car. They stopped let me walk on road safely then stopped went into shop where driver was and told to move car immediately - result!
-
Ha! Brilliant YG

:thankyou:

When I cant think of the word I want to use yet can explain it in great detail, it gets to be like a frustrated game of charades and drives me round the bend 😩 x
-

I just say the 'whats it', or similar. I'm known in the family for being verbally dyslexic. My brain can't keep up with my mouth. :-X
-
Charming! 🤨
-
You talking to me Jill 😇
-
........ or me :-\
My belly looking big and feeling bloated :'(
-
No, not you CLKD, your absolutely lovely you are, :foryou:
It's that Jaypo.....
Pure as the driven snow I was, until Jay came along.....😱
She blames me for everything.... :diablo: she's a little devil.....hehehehe.....🤣😂🤣😂🤣

If I put im fed up with them rollercoaster Hormones will I be lynched x
-
Excuse me peeps,I'm bloody lovely i'll have you know 😳🤣
-
Not a bit Countrygirl ........ roller-coaster about covers it for some :-\
-
I think that was what they were trying to say Jaypo 😇 x
CLKD I had to put the laughing emoji after the comment as it's either that or cry with them x
-
A good cry can help but I can't cry. Usually it's when we are watching something on TV that's sad but I can't let go ........ the 1 thing that will start me off is the end of The Incredible Journey when Bodger wanders over the hill :'( :-\
This cold weather is niggling me. I couldn't keep up with keeping our garden tidy due to intense cold early on followed by that hot summer ..... so I'm all behind like a donkey's tail :D
-
I think that was what they were trying to say Jaypo 😇 x
CLKD I had to put the laughing emoji after the comment as it's either that or cry with them x
Now now CG you love us really ❤️❤️😆
-
Yeah, you love us really...🤪🤪🤪
Or maybe ...not....😂😂
-
I'm going with the latter Jill 🤣
-
ladies you make me laugh and that is hard to do some days, but I'm very good at opening my mouth and shoving both feet in, haven't quite managed the toe in the ear just yet 😏 x
-
Laughter is the best medicine CG ,I agree with you though,it's tough some days.
That could be a challenge for you,toes in ears,why? I have no idea,you have to understand Jill's world for that,did I mention she's,you know,a bit strange 😂🤣
-
Hey, hey, hey, I heard that! 🤨
I'll have to try that one CG, both feet in mouth, mmm, is my mouth big enough?
Errr, yeah definitely is, with my boots on too....😂🤣😂🤣😂
-
I used to bite my toe nails
There!!! I said it 🤢
-
Err, :barf:
It's a wonder you've got teeth....toe nails are soooo hard......🙀😂😂
Bet you were on a diet, weren't you?
‘What shall I have for me dinner tonight?...🤔...' Toe nails in sock fluff, I think' yummmy....🤣😂🤣😂
-
I don't need to diet ,I have a stunning figure
Aaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha 😆
-
I know that..😃
I'm talking about years ago when you were actually able to get your toes in your mouth.
I mean, if you tried now, you'd probably break your leg....old age and everything. 😂🤣😂🤣
-
 I could never touch my toes but both my sister and DH can still get their toes into their mouths. To annoy me ........ I was watching a programme about Circus earlier and the girl stood, talking to the presenter, with 1 leg against her ear :o - toe pointing towards the sky :o :o
-
Bad manners, rude people, noisy people, stupidity, laziness, blah blah blah, certainly have no patients since the menopause and have become more outspoken than i use to be. ::)
-

I know exactly what you mean. I speak as I find now where as when I was younger I'd just put up with it.
-
So do I. In with both feet, me :-X
-
I was more laid back and everything went over my head when I was younger, I now seem to take things more personally and get far too involved, it's like I need to put the world to rights. Obviously that's not happening but it does cause frustration and sometimes anger, I think it's more an age thing than menopausal, maybe because we are older and sometimes wiser but nobody listens anyway. ::)
-
Too true.
I also think that as we get older what others think about us matters less.
-
Here's one.
I'm always putting things away in a 'Safe Place' and then totally forgetting were that is. I have two bank cards, I never use, and have them in a card wallet which I hid away. I came across them the other week and thought 'oh that's not a very good place' and moved them.
Where the hell they are now heaven knows. ::)
-
Well, that's Jaypo for you, Hummdinger....
She does strange things with her toes, I mean, who bites they're toe nails? :barf:
God knows what she does with her little toes....anyone's guess.....😂😂
-
You'd be surprised what I can do with my little toes 😳😂
Was writing out my shopping list today and didn't know if I had a certain ingredient,so went to freezer in utility room, opened door and had no clue what I was looking for🤬 back to shopping list, how is it possible to forget one thing in a space of a few seconds?
-
Really easily jaypo - didn't you stop on the way to do other stuff ::) I get caught up and then really forget the whole point ;D
Why aren't men as bendy .......... my hips were never checked after delivery as I was whisked away not expected to live so that internal/external thing that they do with new borns simply never happened. I've been stiff in my hips ever since ::).
Nowt has annoyed me. Yet ;D
-
No clkd, I didn't 😳 my brain is mush some days
Hahahahaha it's beyond me why you would actually stick your toe into a tap CG but then Jill.............say no more 😂
-
I've done it to see how hot the water was ::) ........... too lazy to sit up 2 find out.
-
"Your call is important to us"
And
Dog poo on the path outside my flat.
And that's just this morning's irritations.
Room 101? I could fill room 102, room 103, 4,5,6....you get where im going with this.
We could start a room 101 thread but I think everyone would want to put menopause in :)
-
That happens to me ALL the time Jay.
Within a few seconds, I can forget what I'm looking for, or going to say, and if I get side tracked, it's hours before I remember, and go, oh, yeah, I was looking for that earlier! 😠
I stand in the kitchen or somewhere, saying to myself, what was I going to do then, ?
Most of the time it comes back to me after a few seconds, sometimes not for a while.
I actually talk to myself sometimes too, I never used to do that, like walking round the supermarket looking for cheese or something, saying out loud, where's the cheese, cheese, cheese, got it, 🤪😜 Christ knows what people think, probably There's that mad women again....🤪😜🤪
-
Jillydoll. 🎵"Where's my cheese where's my phone?🎵
-
I think we have a room 101 thread already - shall I look-see? ;D
Shadyglade - found it yet? I lost the keys to the windows in the New Year - looked where I thought I had put them but they didn't look 'right', however, at the end of Feb. I tried them into the locks - guess what :-\. The hours I had spent in the early hours, worrieting ......
-
Nope, not found it. Will have to empty the desk drawers tomorrow.
-
Do you have a fridge, freezer, chicken run, dish-washer :whist:
-
Chicken run? CLKD you realy are a country girl :)
Jay. Hope you found it. And jillydoll hope you found the cheese!!
I lived in a 3 bed house and rarely lost things. I moved a week after my surgery. So a week after meno and do you know something? I cant find anything in this one bedroom flat.
Things seem to have disappeared into the ether.
You know the old saying "look for something else and the original thing you were looking for turns up". Well it's not true. The list of things I'm looking for in this one bedroom flat just keeps getting longer.
-
😂 just stop looking tc,it drives you insane sometimes
-
Jaypo. Have you ever just gone out and bought a new one cos you cant be doing with looking for it anymore even though you know it's in the house somewhere.?
-
YYEEESSSSS tc but sometimes I look soooo hard, I get such a sore head
-
My OH does that, it really annoys me, buys everything he can't find...😠
Then the original turns up....🤬🤬
If I lose something, I don't give up, I HAVE to find it.....then if I can't, it's because I've probably thrown it out, and forgotten that I've thrown it out.....😂🤣😂
-
I've thrown it out with the rubbish. I dont know why I think that about a hairdryer but I do.
Having said that, my late OH used to find quite a bit of cutlery in the rubbish bin. My bad!!
-
Oh yes, teaspoons are my specialty for the bin😂
-
;D ...... yep. Chicken run. When we owned 3 chooks I often left my reading glasses on top of the hut whilst letting them out etc. ::) it was the 1st place I would go to look. I have no recall though :-\ so can't track back.
-
reading glasses, don't get me started.me - ANYONE SEEN MY SPEX
OH - yes, they're on top of your head 🤨🤓😆
-
That cold wind has driven me indoors :'(
-
🤣 random, hummdinger
-
what's random :-\ ???
-
Cling film 😆
