I was invited to a wellness appointment by the NHS clinic where I see my psychiatrist

It took 45 minutes.

The nurse asked me lots of questions checking up on my health, any family illnesses etc.
He checked I was up to date with mammogram and smear test.and asked about dentist and opticians.

He took my blood pressure oxygen stars pulse and did an ECG. He checked my blood sugar and cholesterol too.

I've never been to one before but it was a good general check up

Just thought someone might like to know what's involved if you are able to attend one  I think it would be good for everyone to be offered one regularly

Some Surgeries run both well women/men opportunities. When we reach a 'certain' age; from 50 I think ; the NHS offers specifics anyway.  Our GPs offer such health check appts. to newly registered patients.

I have to go annually for a BP check, weight, discussion about medication requirements.  This time I need bloods to check cholesterol levels  ::).  I have never smoked nor did I drink after finding out that 'babycham' upset my gut in the early hours  >:(
