Really enjoyed Saturday's show thought nearly everyone danced well.
Looking forward to next Saturday's show.
Lanzalover x
-
Yep. Can't call it yet :D
It Takes 2 with Zoe later ?
-
Same old same old. Is this about the contestants or the judges? You decide. The contestants always work hard as do the members of the orchestra however to me the judges always have the same gimmicks year in year out. The costumes are nice and give interesting viewing. ;)
-
Yep. That's what makes it a family show. For those tuning in for the 1st time it would be novel. Craig RH is the same, all part of the 'act'.
Makes me almost want to wear a frock and pearls ;D
-
We're going to a 21st this evening so won't be able to watch the show live.
So I'll be watching it on catch up and trying to avoid any spoilers !
Lanzalover x
-
I don't watch it but my friends' goddaughter is on it, a paralympian x

The thing that irritates me about Strictly (I do actually love this programme) is the amount of ‘padding' there is; the celebrities constantly talking about their nerves and how thrilled they are to be part of this experience etc. Some of the silly excursions set up on the basis that this will help them with the dance routines are now so predictable. I'm a great believer in ‘less is more'. Yes, we want to know a bit about the contestants and the background stuff but that is what 'It takes Two' is about - I want to see them dancing.
Does anyone else cringe at all this unnecessary stuff?
BTW - a good bunch of contestants this year - it's going to be interesting.

Yes some of the excursions are a bit silly but there is something in giving the professional dancer a taste of being a beginner in a new skill to remind them how hard it is to learn something from scratch. I also like it when young children are brought into the training room to see their parent/relative dance and give them moral support. I predict that Susannah is the most likely to be voted out first but could be wrong.
-
Looking forward to tonight but I think that the person going home will be the same one that would have gone home last week unless she has been given bendy and hip wiggling injections
-
There's about 5 or 6 decent ones this year.
-
Watched it for the first time last night after reading this thread and I'm hooked. I think the last couple on were best, but I suppose that could change. How many weeks is it on for?
-
as happens every single year we have people with huge dance experience dancing against people who have never danced in their lives.
Whatever way I look at it this cannot be fair. That blonde woman Ashley somebodyorother has danced all her life. Several others have loads of dance experience too.
-
It's usaully on till mid December Dierdre
-
There has to be a few people with dancing experience otherwise the programme might not go the whole run ;D ........... they also have to be able to walk across the room in those heels and that's the men ;)
I didn't watch much last night as we were out at a meal together :-*. It is Light Entertainment. Something we can watch with Granny ........
-
Mid December! They will have to be fit to last that long, it looks exhausting.
-
Poor Anton :'( ............ why does he stay in the Show :-\. Correct decision but I am wary of believing the results worked that way, about time we were told where each couple are in the public vote: no more 'in no particular order'. !?!?
-
I also feel sorry for Anton as he is always given the partner likely to go out the quickest. Unfortunately for him this time I don't think enough of the public would give her the sympathy vote which happens often too and keeps contestants in when they should go out. I would like to know the public vote too
-
I've caught up on Strictly the correct person went home.
I think it's also time for Anton to leave he's way past his sell by date now and just annoys me plus he's not a particularly good dancer.
Controversial I know but it's how I feel sorry.
Lanzalover x
-
Anton is okay at the slower dances but not great at the rest.
He's 50 now though 🤔
-
How can you say that? They all have to create dances according to the ability of their partner. Sometimes it doesn't enable Anton to show his skills for long enough!
50 is a number. If 1 is fit 1 can go on for years, look at Valentino Rossi ;)
-
Don't get me wrong I do like him, I just think he isn't as versatile as some of the others.
-
Because he has to adjust his talents to the woman he has been paired with? As a dancer I can understand that.
I say every year how good the dancers are over-all with their choreography!
-
Anton has been on the show since it started and never won in 15 years think that says it all.
I don't usually enjoy movie week but tonight was better than I expected.
Lanzalover x
-
It was quite good. But Bruno is getting OTT! and Craig is well ........... :-X
-
Whose going out tonight then?
-
Can't decide. Think it might be Kevin ....... because the routine was so good ???
-
Do you mean Kevin and Stacey ?
My money's on Lee and Nadiya.
-
Yep.
-
I think they will probably be ok tonight as they were 3rd on the leader board last night.
Lee however was bottom and as he was in the dance off last week he may not have the public vote.
All will be revealed later :)
Lanzalover x
-
If I can stay awake long enough ::)
-
Have to say Bruno really gets on my nerves. Even more this year. I was listening to Craig on the radio a while back and he said he is set up to be the one to dish out the negatives and on the whole doesn't worry about it because most people including the participants expect it
-
Yes couldn't agree more Bruno has become really irritating.
I personally don't mind Craig and his comments are more than often quite accurate.
Lanzalover x
-
I should have put a bet on ;D
Lanzalover x
-
Remind me: who went, ;D I did watch but have slept since then.
Apparently Sarah Cox will cover for Zoe in the mornings when ItTakes2 is on.
-
;D
Lee and Nadiya.
Lanzalover x
-
Oh that pair :thankyou:
I think that Seann and Katya should stand down after making front page headlines this morning >:(. 'drunk' ......... on my Licence Fee!?!
-
I think that Zoe did good job when interviewing that couple last night but I have to say that Shaune [sp] didn't come over particularly well, it was all 'me'. Katya looked like she'd had a wet fish slapped across her face ::). They should stand down.
-
Sean is really up himself. They should definitely stand down. Loved his (now ex) girlfriends post
-
But she should have stayed quiet for a while. Kept her dignity ;-) - let them stew ;D
-

I suspect that they will get voted out next weekend if they still appear.
-
Could it be a scam?
-
Trouble is even if they come bottom after the public vote they are good so unless the judges vote against who they really think should stay in the dance off then they won't go out anyway so not worth the trouble of trying to vote them off
-
Is this the year when we see the 'truth' .......... what the judges feel and how the public vote? I don't like the way Shirley applauds Katie, she is good and improving but does anyone else find it patronising?
-
I also love strictly but I can't take to the newish judge Shirley, she has favourites who she over marks and others she gives lower marks than Craig.
My favourite is Alijaz, I don't care who his partner is ;D
-
Oh Join the Queue for that one ;D
Pasha a close 2nd ? Craig made the correct response in saying that Katya should have been professional. It's a bit like 'vulnerable adults' situation in that she has been through it previously and her partner won't be aware .......
-
Hoping DH can work his magic and manage to get the show for me to watch on either the I pad or phone later (fingers crossed)
Lanzalover x
-
It was quite good despite the furore in the week ;-).
-
DH worked his magic and we watched the show this afternoon.
We are going to watch the results show before we go out to tonight.
Think it could be Katie and Kate in the dance off tonight but we'll see.
Lanzalover x
-
Sad to see Katie go as I thought for a non dancer she did brilliantly.
-
Also after all the patronisation Shirley 'agreed' with the other 3 :-\
-
I don't get Shirley ???
But at least Bruno won't be there next week. He must be hosting another party in his LA pad !!!
Lanzalover x
-
Enjoyed Alfonso Ribeiro on Strictly and sorry to see Vicky go.
See Craig's in trouble now.
Lanzalover x
-
Why? Do tell?
I saw him quoted as explaining that the public at home don't get the same view as the Judges - obviously we don't get to see the foot work!
-
He was at the book launch of his 3rd autobiography! and it is reported that he said Shirley had false boobs which were hanging out when she arrived for her audition for Strictly, Tess was boring ,Bruno was an annoying attention seeker and a tightwad can't rember what else he said but think that's enough he has reportedly been told to be more diplomatic by BBC bosses.
Lanzalover x
-
Has he been mis-quoted ............. :-X ;D
-
No I don't think so he refused to answer questions about his comments on BBC-breakfast this morning.
Lanzalover x
-
Oh .......... another story which might run then. I think that the Show has run it's course even though I enjoy it.
Joe to win?
-
Wouldn't know what to do with myself on a Saturday night if there was no Strictly. I'm sad aren't I.
I won't go out until Strictly has finished on a Saturday night unless I'm away.
Haven't got a fav yet .
Lanzalover x
-
We are the same ;D
-
Didn't see the show until late Sunday but the right couple went home this week.
Lanzalover x
-
Yep. I held my breath I can tell you ;D
-
My sister had the misfortune to speak to Danny through her job, he phoned and called her some choice names and lots of f**** , when the situation was explained, he was the person who had made the error, but there was no apology >:(
When he was named as being a contestant she told us about the encounter, so obviously we always want him voted off :-\
Well today's newspapers have said his dance partner doesn't like him and he's made her cry. They were on Lorraine earlier in the week and there was an odd vibe, she hardly said a word :(
-
It is what it is. They have spoken this evening ......... they should be professional enough to keep going.
Hopefully they will go through OK later. How did the Press get the story anyhow :-\
-
People talk. Shame, as he's a good dancer.
-
I keep changing my mind on who is to win ;D but it ain't Danny as I didn't like their routine however: GO AJ GO ! oh and ..........
-
Who will go? [gone] don't want to know until the programme .........
-
Who will go? [gone] don't want to know until the programme .........
Really not at all sure today. I hope that Charles escapes the dance off this time. I liked most of the dances yesterday and there wasn't an obvious weak performance.
-
So vile Danny was voted off :) but he refused to appear on it takes two >:(
-
I was really miffed at that! Apparently someone tried to tow his 'girlfriend's/wive' car away but the paper couldn't decide which woman it was!
Good programme this evening, I was in giggles [but can't remember why]
-
Just watched last nights show and really enjoyed it especially Faye and Charles.
Think Kate or Graeme may go tonight.
Lanzalover x
-
I'm with Lanzover. As much as I like them both I think Kate and Graeme might be the two tonight. I really enjoyed most of the dances this week so would find it difficult to pick any others as potential dance offs
-
I'm not a big fan of the Blackpool weekend just because of the extra dancers, I find its distracting from the couples.
I didn't pay much attention to Joe if I'm honest, I'm sooooo in love with his partner Diannes dress, oh how I could whoosh around in those feathers ;D
-

I really enjoyed Graeme' s performance this time. Kate's too. I think Lauren may be in the bottom two. It wasn't her best one.
-
I think Lauren could be in danger tonight. She isn't as good as the other young female dancers.
-
I would hate to C Lauren leave. She has done well except last night and I felt that Stacey really struggled too ....... she didn't seem to have it together at all.
That Jonny Jules was at Valencia, MotoGP today ........ all bright and smiling. :-\
-
I thought Lauren would have better with different music the music didn't suit the dance.
Sad to see Kate go tonight surely Graeme has to go next week.
Lanzalover x
-
It's so far in the 'right' order ..........
-
Graeme, Lauren, Charles are the weakest 3 I think.
-
I agree. Graheme will be gutted. Lauren very sad and Charles, pragmatic. The costumes last night were fab., would love Pasha's sparkly shirt ;D
-

My prediction is Graham and Lauren in the dance off. However I enjoy watching them (and Charles) more than those with dancing experience.
-
Well the more I see the more I think it's fixed :'(. How could Pasha be in the dance off unless the Judges were primed to vote Graeme off ....... surely :-X
-
I thought it would be Lauren and Graeme in the dance off but not surprised Ashley was I think she possibly grates on the publics nerves I know she has that effect on me.
But the correct person went home.
Lanzalover x
-
Must admit that Ashley is a bit marmite for me. She is good but I don't really like her Charles face was a picture
-
Looking forward to tonight's show just got to try and not drink to much before it begins ;D
Lanzalover x
-
I am goosebumps all over. Voted for Kev and Stacey 8)
-

I enjoyed all the dances this evening and found it sooo hard to choose. In the end I went for Faye's, Lauren's and Kev/Stacey's performances.
-
Me too Katejo
-
Did U Vote for all 3 :-\. R land line will take 1 vote - if someone else wants to vote for another dancer, they have to go next door to use their land line ::)
-
If you vote on line you get more votes.
I really can't see what the judges see in Joe, last week and last night I thought he was awful, that lift going over the dancers shoulder was awkward, sorry but last weeks throwing a ball around and lying in the floor, not impressing me as much as he is the judges :-\
-
I don't understand 'street' anyway .
-

The website allows 3 but I have voted more than once on my mobile before.
-
That's worth knowing. Landline says 'You have already voted for X' ::) to stop block votings I suppose.
-
Really enjoyed last nights show. I only ever vote during the final.
Have no idea who will go tonight as at this stage in the competition I think it becomes a popularity contest hence why I don't vote until final.
Lanzalover x
-
Tuff call ............ I loved Karen's routine, so gentle - I had goosebumps again :'(
-
Sorry to see Charles go but the judges were never going to send Ashleigh home.
Lanzalover x
-
How about a strictly for professional sports people ...... we've had cricketers do well but how about an all tennis celebrity show ? or all show jumpers ......
-
It was nice to see Katya and Neil dancing in front of Adam Lambert last week. Could watch that again .........
-
It was nice to see Katya and Neil dancing in front of Adam Lambert last week. Could watch that again .........
agree it was really good. I watched it again as even although I watch it on the night I like to re-watch some of the dances that I have enjoyed
-
Bruno has a new "DVD" out .......... ;)
-
Kevin and Stacey were my favourites tonight. If i could choose the one to go out this time, it would be Joe. I suspect though that it is more likely to be Lauren.
-
I think it will be Lauren and AJ in the dance off but who with? :-\
I think Joe would be a good winner but tonight was not his best.
-
Enjoyed last nights show going on last nights dancing it should be Lauren and Joe in the dance off if so Lauren will go although I'm not a fan of Joe think he's very over rated. But there is a possibility Ashley could be in the dance off as don't think she has a lot of support but she's a better dancer than either Lauren or Joe so if it is her the other person in the dance off will definitely go.
Lanzalover x
-
The bottom 2 should be be Lauren and Joe but I think it might be Lauren and Ashley.
-
The bottom 2 should be be Lauren and Joe but I think it might be Lauren and Ashley.
I think you might be right. Isn't next week the public only vote? If so Ashley will for sure get voted off. The judges wouldn't vote her off tonight because she is obviously better than Lauren and Joe
-
It should be judged on the dance of the night though the whole point of the programme is to chart progress - they have all progressed really well.
I won't be seeing it later as it clashes with MotoGP :-* 8)
-
Ashley will be voted off first next week as she obviously doesn't have public support although she is a really good dancer she has been professionally trained plus she's American I personally think she would have been better on Dancing with the Stars.
I would like Faye to win but wouldn't be upset if Stacey won. I will be upset if Joe wins as he's very overrated and early on was way overmarked by the judges.
Lanzalover x
-
I'd like Stacey to win. I think Faye has had some dance training too.
-
If some didn't have dance training in their history there might not be a show. It doesn't mean that they will pick up dances, I trained until I was 18 but my brain can't get down to my feet these days ;D - a Time Step, now way in full time ::)
I would like Joe to win .............
-
I'd like Stacey to win. I think Faye has had some dance training too.
I also want Stacey to win. By chance I saw a local beginners dance class advertised over the weekend. I think I am going to try it when the course starts up again in January. It is possible to pay for just 1 class initially before committing myself to the whole term.
-
I would be with you ......... every year I mention that it would do us good but the hint isn't taken up ;D. I danced until I was 18 ......... apparently the cricketer lost 2 stone+ :o ...... can't remember his name but can see his face. :-\
-
Starting to get excited now
Lanzalover x
-
Me too
-
Me too
I am too. there is currently a programme on with highlights from previous series. I am having a warm up while cooking my meal.
-
Very happy with the result
-
:congrats:  :medal:
at last - lovely to see Karen go over ahead of the other celebs and give Kev a huge hug - don't know the the was aware though - a good end result.
-
Yaaaayyyyy Stacey won!!! So pleased for her and Kevin!!! 😀😀
So am I! I thought Faye might get it. Joe did better than before and justified his inclusion in the final.
-
Pleased for Stacey and Kevin
But Faye was by far the best on the night.
Lanzalover x
-
Yes I thought their Show Dance understated, the kind I wanted to see if I went to a Show. Joe was my 2nd choice ;)
-
Pleased for Stacey and Kevin
But Faye was by far the best on the night.
Lanzalover x
I agree that Faye was the best but I was also thinking back to earlier performances and prefer to support those who have started from scratch. Online voting gave me 6 votes tonight so I did support Faye as well plus 1 vote for Joe.
-
Glad Kev and Stacey won but on the night it was Faye for me. Yes she has had dance training but if you think about it, most people in showbiz have been to stage school, where they get taught dance so really most people they would ask (joe being the exception and possibly the newsreader and cricketer) are going to know roughly what is required. Personally I think if everyone was a beginner the show would be a bit dull.
CLKD show us a triple with a double break!! Last time I had my tap shoes on was in a show at 52! it was the 25 year anniversary of the dance school where I used teach the 2-5's!! Great fun I can tell you! and your right my head can't remember the moves to transfer them to my feet but in my dance head I'm still 21.
katejo - go for it I think dance of any kind is brilliant for staving off old age You could be forever young!- just think Dick Van Dyck has just done the dance bit part in the new Mary Poppins film and he's 92!
-
I wanted Kevin and Stacey to win. I think Ashley and Faye were better on the night though.
Thought Joe might have won because it's most women that vote. Glad he didn't though, he came on leaps and bounds but wasn't on the same level as the other 3.
-
I think it was the best season yet. Craig could have given 10s though :-\
-
:'(. Pasha leaving Strictly :'(
-
Yes I saw this, what a shame I like him :(
-
He treats his partners with respect and great encouragement
-
:'(. Pasha leaving Strictly :'(
What a pity! Hadn't seen this news yet.
-
So sorry to read this he was a really good dancer and was lovely with his partners.
I'll miss him.
Lanzalover x
-
Am practicing my Time Step as we speak - whilst typing ;D
-
I will miss Pasha. He always came across as a genuinely caring man
