Title: Is this never ending ?
Post by: lorrim3001 on August 22, 2018, 05:37:15 AM
I have been a member now for a few years and it's a comfort to know that I am not alone and we're not all going nuts !  It's been 7 years now (I am nearly 55) of one symptom after another (and most at the same time) of varying severity. I've done and still doing the hot flushing, chronic nausea, sore joints at times, headache, insomnia, horrible acne, anxiety, mood swings, depressive moods, erratic heavy bleeding (which they put Mirena in to help, but that brings it's own side effects, and the Gynae consultant advised removal and an endometrial ablation, which we will discuss at my appointment on Thursday).  He's dealing with the bleeding problems and I am  discussing with my GP whether I can go down the HRT route (another scary minefield to consider) My Mum had ovarian cancer so anything "women's bits" related she finds difficult to talk about.

... My poor hubby is very supportive but I just worry that he must think that he won last prize in the raffle 😳!!

Sorry for the moaning and negative post ladies,  I suppose I am just offloading and hoping for a bit of reassurance that there is and end to this "peri / menopause" merry go round !?😵 x

Hi Lorrim3001 - Nope the bad news is when it moves from Peri it goes into something else altogether with a load of different symptoms but hey ho we have each other!  DaiseyDot says that the last 5 years have been her worst - oh my days, I cannot wait? - NOT - mind you at least it wont be a surprise.  To be honest I have no idea what would have happened if I hadn't joined this forum - back from the brink really and I was so lonely - not now!

Don't feel bad about "negative thoughts" - nothing here would work as well if everyone was relentlessly cheerful - there are enough of those types pretending it is isn't happening in our day to day world.  Off-loading is what's keeping most of us going completely off our trollies!  Sounds like the Gynae is on the case and yes HRT is a bit of a minefield to say the least - but despite the issues I reckon you will be better off with it than without.  Appointments Thursday - nealy there - maybe you will feel better when you have got rid of all those questions that are in your head.  Good Luck!

That made me laugh, it moves from peri into something else altogether, ;D
It certainly did for me, I was a wreck. Still am sometimes, lol  ;D
But without this forum, I don't know what I would have done because my GP was crap..
I've learned so much from here....
