>:( - I had a look at the left side of my chin this morning and it looks like it's been peppered with an air-rifle, I can see under the skin lots of hairs waiting to be born ........ so I've been 'at them' :o like I would do a spot .......... I found several blonde ones too as I was pulling with the tweezers .......... must put some cream on now or Hubby will tell me off again for " ferreting around my chin " :-X
-
its them damn meno fairys >:(
-
It's the way the little black dots hide under the skin tempting me to squeeze ............ :-\
-
Don't squeeze naughty girl >:(
-
I always seem to get the hairs on my right side only, they are always dark and and seem to spring up overnight.. Flipping awful having to regularly pluck...
-
I've been plucking for years ::)
When I was in hospital having my daughter,I forgot to pack my tweezers, and panicked that I'd look like one of ZZ Top by the time I was discharged :o
I've considered eloctrolysis, but decided I can deal witht he prob manually on a daily basis LOL
xx
-
yep you go to bed and no hairs you get up and hey presto you got pubes growing out ya face >:(
-
I tried eloctrolysis in the 1970s and it was painful as well as leavning a rash >:(
-
Have been feeling flipping miserable after visiting Mother in Law yesterday and not able to raise a smile, but you have managed to make me smile this morning Luvdogs, with your comment about pubes growing out ya face... Very funny and very true.....Thanks
-
I started sprouting chin hairs after my daughter was born :(. Sometimes I find an especially long one that escaped the trimming, and cringe at the thought of how many people noticed it before I did ::)
-
I'm finding blonde ones in my chin ............
-
Slightly OT.....anyone else find grey ones protuding in their own inimitable, wiry way from their eyebrows? ???
xx
-
Jilly
I went prematurely grey and about once a week I bleach my eyebrows to make them receptive to the tint then colour them
Jacksfullofaces
-
I've been away for nearly 3 days and my how those hairs have grown ;D - it's been therapautic this morning with the tweezers :o - I also have eyebrows that have stronger curlier ones that need plucking ........ >:(
-
While we're on the subject of rogue hairs and the plucking of same......anyone else plagued by a few stray ones around the nipples? :(
Not grey (thank God) but unattractive most certainly ???
xx
-
Jilly
I had those since teenage years and just remove with the tweezers. Can't say I'm too bothered by them
Jacksfullofaces
-
I trim nipple hairs with scissors, my breasts are too tender to tweeze ;)
-
Gonna have a quick check now ::)
-
Checked no hairs on nipples-yet!!
-
nope me neither ;D
-
I've got a grey hair on the side of my nose.....I keep looking at it and it's making me go cross eyed ::) My nipples are also hairless ;D
-
Hubby reckons I didn't look closely enough and wants to double check later- I don't think so :o :o
-
i have hair in all the normal places im glad to say and dread the day they appear i other places ::)
-
I can't imagine plucking nipple hairs... yeeeouch! I trim them too ;D
Playing idly with my chin today while at MIL's house I came across a couple of rogue hairs, long enough to be noticeable. How come they grow SO quickly??!?!
-
It's those meno fairies Grumpy, come in the night and wham, more hairs, more cellulite etc. ;D
-
Any hairs on my chin would be executed courtesy of electrolysis
Jacksfullofaces
-
Hubby would offer to search too :-*
-
My nipple hairs are gradually spreading out onto the breast! I find that they are easy to tweezer after a bath. There is a whole forum dedicated to men who love nipple hairs :-X
The chin hairs have slowed down a little. JFF - do you have to have a lot of electrolysis before the hairs die off? I have to tweezer mine every other day now and it is getting to be a pain.
Taz x
-
Is there?? :o
OMG,please supply the link,I'm bored s******s with Christmas!
This reminds me of why I love the internet so much ;)
xx
-
Taz
I have never had electrolysis to remove hairs so I'm not sure how many sessions it would take. I use it to remove thread veins and several sessions are needed but hair follicles might be different.
Jacksfullofaces
-
eeeek getting zapped on ya nipple :o dont think soo
-
my chin is sore 'cos I was digging last night: got it though and it was HUGE ;D
-
I'm still having a 'go' at my chin. But now I want to buy some hair removal cream for my upper lip as the one I have made my skin sore and out came a rash >:( but all I can find on the shelves are wax strips :-X
-
For years I used tweezers but recently switched to a handheld epilator as now there are too many to tweeze. Stings a little but fast and lasts a long time. :-\ Annika xx
-
Can you send me the name and where you bought it from? PM if necessary - thanks. Sounds painful though :(
-
I bought mine on Ebay but they have them on Amazon. They are great for the chin area but my upper lip is too sensitive.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emjoi-AP-9L-Travel-Compact-Epilator/dp/B00008SJXL/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=drugstore&qid=1277761160&sr=8-5
-
Thanks!
-
I keep a pair of tweezers in the car.(Apart from my other 3 pairs!) The light coming through the sunroof highlights ones that escape in the house. Altho I'm blonde I'm getting black chin hairs >:( I hate the way you have to put up with the black stubble until you can grab them. And don't the roots go down a long way?
-
I'm always surprised at how long each hair is - like there's *that* much room in my chin below the surface? Those tiny black 'spots' where the next hair lurkes annoy me intensely which is why I excavate to get at 'em. Good Light certainly makes a difference in how soon I can grab 'em ::)
-
Kind of related, well its about chins/neck. The pelican chin thing. That bulge under chin, like a pelican full of fish. Can that ever be exercised back? Surely surgery needed. I hate looking sideways in the mirror at my profile, and notice it horrendously in photos. I am nearly 13st and 5ft 6. A bit of weight loss wouldnt go amiss, bit would my under chin tighten up??
-
Unlikely. My under chin flab is like my Mum's was ........ 'double chin' we called it ::) ........ I try to stretch my head upwards as often as I remember to do so which helps a bit ..........
I found a huge hair when doing the above this morning so it's out .... how Hubby can't see those I don't know >:(
-
He can see them CLKD - he just chooses not to tell you ;D
-
::)
-
Do we tell our OHs about nose and ear hair ? I have been forced to in the past. I find it almost impossible to have a sensible conversation with someone with nose hair. I find my gaze wandering towards the nose and thinking, I could have that out in a tick if he would let me get my tweezers ;D ;D
Ear hair also annoys me. Why cant they see it ?
I dont want my OH hogging the bathroom for hours, but a little more time looking in a mirror would be good ;)

My pal has started waxing my chin (and other places) and told me off for plucking, she said it made them come in worse!!!!!!!!! So bin the tweezers girls, lol!
-
What other places if you dont mind me asking?
I have never ever waxed anything other than my legs. I am too scared that something would go wrong and I would be stuck in the house till my skin grew back ;D ;D
Viv

-
I have got a bristle patch now on the side of my chin - I have to pluck every morning. It is getting worrying. Yesterday I sat at the traffic lights on the way to work and remembered that I had FORGOTTEN my chin!!!! Didn't have any tweezers either and spent the whole day, in class, with my hair sort of draped across that side of my chin. The little darlings in my class are so lacking in social skills. Conversation goes "Why have you got a manface Miss" :o :o :o
Taz x
-
I too got fed up with facial hair, mainly under my nose but also down the side of my face. It is only light & fluffy but it made me feel bad about myself ???.
Anyway about 2 months ago I went into our local village chemist & bought some Nair hair remover. It is a facial brush on, I was very nervous the first time I used it but it was ok. It stings a little bit but soon wears off. I use it about every 2 - 3 weeks & you don't need too much of it.
-
I had gone out with me mates I was in my mid 20s and this bloke came upto me and said YOUR MOUSTACHE is better than mine hows about a date? :o
Its a good job he was clean shaven cos I might not have said yes! ::)
The thing is if someone said that to me now I'd believe them and I'd be running for the nearest razor AND they could also include my beard in with that!!! :(
Thank heavens the tweezers were invented! :)
Cazza xx
-
I just get legs and oxters waxed viv, no need to do bikini line as pubes are getting that sparce you might already think I had them waxed . If you get someone who knows what they are doing it does not hurt that much (okay, it hurts like hell sometimes but is soon forgotten, lol) and it lasts a lot longer than shaving, tweeking and all those other things we try and apparantely, the more you do it, the less they grow back, so, by the time I am 60years old could be a hairless wonder
-
Like this you mean ;)
-
Is bristly to touch but the hairs aren't long enough to pull >:(
-
That is the only down side to waxing, you have to let the hairs grow long enough to wax, but the time it takes them to regrow does increase slowly, lol!
-
I can feel a hair but can't see it >:(
Got it - long, wiry, white!!!!
-
And then you get in the car and see a half inch one! How did I miss it?
-
Yep ::)
-
Has long stiff white hairs underneath, off to find those tweezers :D
-
OH borrowed my tweezers to do his ear hair before he went to the drs yest >:(
-
:clapping: mine couldn't see his ears from where he's sitting anyway nor those under his nose :D
-
Very warm water on a poultice over the spot. Good excuse to sit quietly in front of the TV ;)
-
Sit quietly? Couldn't do that. I could sit noisily perhaps but, then again, sitting is not what I am good at. I am good at taking care of a whiskery chin though ;D
Not sure about ingrowing hairs though...
Taz x
-
They have special tweezers for ingrowing hairs, they look painful! They also do a lotion, heaven knows if it works.
-
My chin is sore because I've been excavating again and can stll feel stubbs under the skin >:(
-
I can feel micro hairs coming out of my chin, how long till I can pull them out?
-
When the tweezers can get a good grip ;)
-
Hahaha love this thread.
I just hate those white wiry ones, and yeah the black ones that are waiting to sprout looking like blackheads on the chin.
I have to trim my nose now >:(
Also that fine downy hair on the face - is it safe to remove? (How?) or should it be left?
And nipple hairs.....and thinning pubes...I could go on :-\
-
I leave the downy hair on the sides of each cheeck [sp] 'cos I can't see them. I had the delight of pulling out a hair earlier which was really long under the skin, came out with a satisfying plop ......... ::)
-
I remember the first time I plucked a chin hair, I couldn't believe how far into the skin it went :o
-
....... "I couldn't believe how far into the skin it went ... " I think that's the fascination for me, have to get it out to see how deep it went ::)
-
I wonder why you lose it it some places and gain in others. My hubby says its unfair hes lost some of his hair on his head but it grow rampantly down his nose ;D
-
My partings seem to be getting wider >:(
-
Ill swear mines getting thicker ???
-
I'm the same, ally - strange isn't it? I have it cut every 4 weeks now and the hairdresser spends all her time thinning it - she says I'd look like I was wearing a big helmet otherwise!
Bixby x
-
how very odd Bixby. My hairdresser said the same. i never had thick hair when i was young. We are blessed xx
-
Now that it's colder outside I haven't got any chin hairs ::)
-
.... ouch. Found some long hairs with thick roots this morning >:( and my upper lip needs serious attention with the tweezers ........ :D
-
Ouch indeed. I eventually used hair remover cream for top lip, much better. Eddie. x
-
I have cream but am so tired at night that I often get to sleep before I remember to use it ::)
-
I just dont look at my reflection with my glasses on - moustache? What moustache?
Taz ;D
-
I've got a few white whiskers too ;)
-
... but what glossy hair you have ;D ;D
-
Head or chin? ;D ;D
-
:clapping:
-
With my finger I can feel a stiff hair. But when I look in the mirror, tweezers to hand I can't see it anywhere >:( :bang: :bang: :bang:
-
Got it! White. Stiff. Straight. Crept up on it with the tweezers ....... :tribble:
-
Well tackled CLKD.. those little stiff white eyebrow ones are devils too...
-
I had one on the outside edge of my right ear, i can't see it ever, just feel it jagging, i pinch and pinch until i make it sore, once it's about 3mm i can nip it and eventually pull it out.
Eddie. x
-
Found another whilst skulking with the tweezers just now, long and black :P
-
Sorry Larky, I know just what you mean. I also makes me sneeze.

-
So *that's* what you looks like ;) oh that soft horsey muzzle :-*
I get small scissors and snip gently :P
-
Not on me you can't ;D
-
What do you do with the bristly ones that sprout out of moles :o
I still pluck but then wonder if I should or not. I have a little mole at the side of my mouth. In days gone by they were called beauty spots ::) and if I left them to sprout then I could probably put them in a pony tail in a few months. They are not soft but spiky and grow straight out.
Honeyb
x
-
You should never pluck those in the moles but cut them near to the skin. My chin is sore >:(
-
My first Hubby used to say if he ever had to identify my body, that it would be easy for him... he would just look for the "mole on my stomach".... flatterer!!!! ::)
-
there we are, chin, upper lip, belly button >:(
-
BELLY BUTTON?????? Cheeses!! what next??!!!
-
Daren't look ;D
-
Been away so need to get those tweezers going :P
-
I've just noticed this thread :D
I started sprouting 'whiskers' not long after my daughter was born... about 11 years ago. Sometimes I forget about them, and suddenly feel them, long and whisker-y, usually when I'm on an evening out and at my most self conscious! I swear I could plait beads into them and make them a feature!!! :o
-
Girls! Girls! Girls!
STOP! STOP! STOP! The plucking.............that is why they feel so bristly and hard........just like a mans chin!
Get them waxed.........it will eventually slow down the growth and also they will feel much finer! Ok.........you will feel it, but to be honest plucking them is much more painful than waxing!
Give it a try girls...........please..........and stop putting you through this torture ???
-
Don't they have to grow a certain length before you can have them waxed? How long does it work for? I get fed up with doing mine every morning.
Taz x
-
I have mine waxed every 5 weeks, it's very quick and effective. I occassionally pluck 1 or 2 tough ones out in between waxes. i have my eyebrows done at the same time. It's a bit red for an hour or so after waxing, but I use a good after-soother.
-
Five weeks? Mine would be down to my chest by then! :o
-
the first initial growth would really need to be 4-5 weeks of growth (but saying that some people only wait 3), you need this length for the wax to adhere to the hair!
But as I said in my previous posts, they will grow back finer and not so harsh! It is well worth it - and..........because you personally get paranoid about the hairs, others do not see what you do!
I have lots of ladies that have chin, lip & brow waxing and swear they will never wax again!
A plus side is that the hairs after a while do become very patchy and can stop growing!
Believe me..........I do it for a living ;)
-
My chin hairs are now growing back blonde so not so easy to see, occasionally they are tuffer but still tweeze out with a satisfying sensation :o - been away from the tweezers for 3 days so off to find the mirror :P
-
I work with primary children - believe me it is not paranoia as their eyesight is eagle sharp and they are quick to point out the hairy chin ;D I know it would be worth it in the end but there is no way I could go about my job with five weeks of bristles!! Maybe when I retire! I did find that when I was off HRT for that six months the hairs stopped growing.
Taz x :D
-
I know what you mean Taz.
I have a mole on my chin with a hair growing out of it.
I work with children and they're also quick to point it out if I haven't plucked it,which maybe, I shouldn't be doing anyway :-\
-
You can have them done more often than every 5 weeks if you need to, Taz, and if you can afford to. I've been having mine done for a long time now, and they are much weaker than they used to be. I'm not on HRT, so that may make a difference too! Mine are black.
-
Thanks Margaret.
Taz x :)
-
Bothersome - I can feel a hair but can't tweeze it >:(
-
Himself calls it excavating but I can't resist when I can feel it. It amazes me how fast they actually grow until they can be grabbed ;D
-
:) I had to move and leave my dearest friends behind a number of years ago; have trust issues from years of horrible stuff so have a slightly difficult time making new friendships, and have recently become unemployed so breakfasts and after-work get-togethers with female coworkers has dwindled so don't have anyone really to talk to about "female issues."
So.....I come on here and find threads like this one and it just makes me feel so.....so.....normal!
Thank you, ladies! Now when I aim the shaver at areas I NEVER thought I'd aim it at I shall know I'm not the only one!
-
Hey lilfeather
you just never know what will come up next for discussion here ;D
Ricky

-
I've been away from a magnifying mirror for 3 days :o can't wait to see what I'll find ;)

Hey lilfeather

Ricky

Yeah, I've noticed and love it!!!
-
Hairy tops of toes ???
-
Hairy tops of toes ???
And how does one deal with that? Neither plucking nor shaving seem practical or painless.
I know.....wool socks all year! :)
-
Shaving makes them itch ;D
-
Shaving makes them itch ;D
::)
You speak as one who has experience in this......
-
I do
-
Is full of small hairs which I can't grab >:( one was bothering me for 3 days but it was white when I eventually found it, wirey and stiff. Eventually though :o :P
-
I've got one of thsoe laser things from boots - was in sale - havent dared use it yet!
-
I did wonder about those too ........ but don't want to end up with a rash ::). Maybe go visit with a professional first to see what reaction you get?
-
If I go for a leg wax , my lovely beautician waxes the tops of my toes too!
-
:o
-
don't you jut hate it when the hair you've been cultivating to pluck breaks at skin level
-
OH YES ;D ........ I have cultivated many a hair but it snaps on tugging ;D
-
I've decided that the hairs in my chin are like anemones: when they feel the tweezers close by they disappear into the skin :o
-
I has a session on my chin with the tweezers this morning - I never thought that I'd be doing that :-\ but hey ho it's the menopause!
-
Moustache hairs as well :(
-
I've had one or two of those as well :o
-
I'm still waiting for someone else to own up to hairy nipples :D
-
:-\ how do you get rid of them there :o
-
DO NOT pull nipples hairs! but use fine scissors as close to the skin or get your SO to do it :-*
Not admitting to those - yet but the legs, oh the legs ;D
-
the idea of pulling them makes my eyes water, never mind the actual doing .. don't think i have any .. will look :D
-
nipple hairs :( oh god, I'm turning into a man
-
As long as you make sure you have just had a shower or a bath then it is fine to use tweezers just as you would on the chin. It doesn't hurt if the skin is still warm from the bath/shower. I have to do mine every couple of days. Apparently it is quite normal but it sure doesn't feel like it is!
Taz x
-
I've had a few nipple hairs for years, just shave them off - very carefully! :o - in the shower. Also have a couple of ****ly white moustache hairs which I tweezer out when I feel them - they aren't visible really.
Bette x
-
I'm like Bette and shave any off very carefully ;D but have had them for quite a long time so can't blame the meno for them (everything else - YES!)
-
My Consultant told me never to tweeze nipple hairs ;)
haven't had time to look round my chin today ::) - yet
-
Well... fortunately, I do not seem to have too many facial hairs but hair loss, aah thats a pain, after every shampoo, I seem to moult, its worse though at change of season!
I took heed of the advice on the VA thread and decided to see if I was atrophied and ended up giving myself a hair cut, :) trimmed all the foliage back, made me feel fresher and tidier, my daughter said its crazy, one should always wax the nether parts but just the thought makes me cringe and as for the itchy regrowth, ouchey!
-
WAXING oh no :o
-
Ladies............waxing is really not as bad as you think, and it feels so lovely and looks so neat too!
If you find a very good therapist, she will be very good and gentle (as she can be) with you. As long as the skin is pulled very taught and you work with the therapist it is so quick ;)
I have been having waxing for 16 yrs now and at the moment I have had to resort to shaving my lady parts, as since I have moved area I cannot find a salon or therapist that offers the waxing system that I use on my clients..............I am gutted!
Take the plunge and have a go, you may well be truly surprised!
Nipple hairs, I always pull mine out when I am in the bath - I don't get that many to be honest, but still............they make you feel awful when you see them!
The joys of getting older girls...........wonderful............NOT :(
Cutey x
"when u look good, u feel good"
-
Heard on the radio there is a cream coming which stops hair from growing. Think it's aimed at men so they don't need to shave .. useful for us ladies too ;)
-
Was this on Chris Evans this morning, I know I had a giggle when I heard it ::)
I note today that Himself has hairs on his ears where there weren't any before ;D
-
-
moan, whinge, moan - can feel tiny hairs but can't pull them :bang:
-
....... is really, really annoying me this week >:(
-
I had 5 long hairs out this morning and can feel another one that has grown during the day :o will it never end :-X
-
No! They will just grow quicker and longer and tougher if my mum was anything to go by ;D I do mine every morning now - part of the routine - unless I forget and working with young children I am soon told if I have missed one!
Taz x
-
Perhaps they are white now so you don't notice them ......... I rub my chin constantly so I feel immediately when one pokes through >:(
-
It is probably hormonal fluctuations. Mine stopped growing when I stopped HRT but now three weeks into the new regime they are coming fast and furious..
Taz x
-
I've found my tweezers so look out 8)
-
:bounce:
and now my top lip :'( :-\
-
Thank goodness for tweezers >:( - I ought to be outside weeding the garden and not my chin :-X
-
Do NOT tweeze nipple hair ;) cut as close to the skin as possible.
I had a 'go' at my chin, better now :P
-
I can feel 5 hairs but can't see/pull them >:( - expect a few are now white and wirey ::)
-
I bought new tweezers and an enlarging mirror yesterday :o .......... they are so fiddly to use ::)
-
I hate mirrors that magnify!! I end up spending hours plucking because I can see so many more!! :o (http://:o)
-
Yep I think that's the way it will go - once I find out how to manuevre the new tweezers ;D
-
I've misplaced my tweezers - took them on holiday and now can't find them >:( I can feel a couple of really annoying hairs on my chin - can't stop touching them. Where on earth have I put them? :-\ Guess I'll have to shave them off but that's not nearly so satisfying as pulling them out.
Oops, forgot to say Hi everyone, I'm back from sunny Spain - had a lovely time too.
ariadne xx
-
Same here Adriadne - took tweezers away last week ::)
-
I haven't started this yet, but I have nipple hairs, which seem to grow long - grotesque, anyone else? Whats that all about? :(
-
Me too Pixie, hate them - have tweezed them and shaved sometimes!
-
I haven't always had them and there aren't many and I am not a hairy bod! I tweeze them after a bath. I know you shouldn't! ;D
-
I am growing hairs on my chin now, coarse brissly ones. When i pull them out they are quite long But other body hair is becoming very sparse. So what makes some grow and some fall out?
-
Do NOT shave or tweeze your nipple hairs but use fine scissors to cut as close to the skin without knicking ;)
-
Surely shaving IS cutting close to the skin?!
Bette x
-
But one might miss ;) and nipples bleed apparently :-X
-
:stretcher: Ouch!
-
:stretcher: Ouch!
double that!
-
I could feel a thick hair this morning, it was very satisfying to drag the new tweezers across and feel it pull 'out' :o
-
Oh dear, all us bearded ladies, we will signing up for a Victorian music hall night!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
PS Can't you have it lasered away, i would've thought plucking chins was as precarious as plucking nipple hair?
-
Nope, nowt wrong with tweezing the chin hair but keep away from the nipples - see my previous comment, nipples bleed!
-
I don't understand the not tweezering of nipple hairs - what are we supposed to do - grow a tarzan-like hairy chest ;D
Nipple hairs are ok to be tweezered. I wonder if there is some confusion here as the term "nipple hair" usually means hair on the areola and not sprouting out from the end of the nipple itself so by plucking them the nipple doesn't bleed. I don't think the actual nipple would have any hair follicles. :-\
Taz x
-
Oh dear, i had a mental image there for a moment of nipples with a little hairy tassle on the end!!!
-
I have found this on a Men's forum.....
I don't think I've ever encounted a woman with hairy nipples, or even with any hairiness anywhere in the chest area, but if I did, it would more likely turn me on than turn me off.
I was surprised to find out about 3 or 4 years ago that women even grew hair there, when an acquaintance of mine mentioned to me that she had to shave there every couple of months because a fine layer of hair would sprout. She was just as surprised to learn that I didn't know about it, saying that many women have hair growing there.
All told, I find it kind of erotic myself."
Taz x :ange:
-
I absolutely loathe my hair/body hair since meno - got the full works going on.
It's a full time job keeping all of it under control - hairy toes, ugh, hairy ankles, ugh (ankles also morphing into "cankles" now, thickening up), shockingly my OH made a joke about my hairy ankles which sent me reeling - nip hairs that often are ingrowing, black hairs on chin (often they suddenly grow overnight) and some on upper lip BUT conversely - thanks so much for this Mother Nature - sparse patchy pubic hair that annoyingly now grows down the bikini line much further, sparse eyebrows and lashes, hair loss on top of head and at sides. Have had thyroid checked, results "normal". hmmm.
All this must be down to hormone imbalance and circulating DHT, don't get it though as my T levels are practically zero.
Gradually bit by bit, the places where you don't want hair, it appears - and vice versa.
Maybe would have expected some of this in late 60s, but not at 50.
Will never get over the shock of what Mother Nature can do - added to the long list of meno symptoms, the total hair change really p's me off. None of this cr'p gets better with time.
I've bought a 15 x magnifying mirror to use when plucking chin, lip. Quite scary looking in it though!

My husband is really annoyed at the nose and ear hair which has decided to sprout over the last couple of years. He was fine till around 55 and then, suddenly, he has ear hair!!
Taz x
-
At 46 I joined the chin club, and upper lip club. Tweezers at the ready.
-
 It takes all sorts!! ;D ;D ;D xx
I think you're more likely to snip your nipples off trying to find the hair with the scissors! :-\
-
Yikes!! Just putting on mascara and noticed that an eyelash had dropped onto my chin - BUT when i tried to brush it away, I realised it was growing from my chin. Holy smoke, my first chin hair. I don't know how any of you can pluck it out, really painful. Had to shave it off. >:( Laser here I go!!
-
Oh laser is much more painful than tweezing, once you've done it that area gets used to being pulled and tugged or as DH tells me "you are excavating again" ;)
-
;D ;D ;D x
-
I used hair removal cream on my top lip but there are small hairs left so have to continue tweezing and that HURTS :o
-
No sightings of any sproutlings on face ce soir!! :o
-
Sadly the new sets of tweezers don't pull properly so I'm left with a sore area :-\ which is becoming noticeable so will need to buy yet more tweezers .......... I saw some for £29.00 recently :o
-
the ones i use cost £1.99 five years ago ::)
-
I had some tweezers with sloping ends, which were very good. I have my facial hair waxed regularly, so they come out easily now if I have to "excavate" the odd one!
I lost my tweezers on holiday, and, sadly could only find new ones with straight ends which are not so good.
-
Mine were lost on holiday too - maybe there's a rest home for tweezers :P .......... I need to buy some different ones .........
-
I HATE my new tweezers :'( :-\
-
This is such a great thread :)
I got my first chin hair at 30 (which was speedily plucked out) but it would only re-appear every few months. But my 40s have been a nightmare - masses of dark, stiff hairs sprouting up so regularly that plucking has become almost a daily chore. I do get a bizarre sense of satisfaction when I manage to grab 'em all though ;D
I've tried hair removal creams but find that I have a hair-free chin only for a couple of days before the little blighters start coming up again. My magnifying mirror and tweezers are definitely my friends :)
-
Welcome to our thread - I still HATE my new tweezers :-\
-
Sadly the new sets of tweezers don't pull properly so I'm left with a sore area :-\ which is becoming noticeable so will need to buy yet more tweezers .......... I saw some for £29.00 recently :o
Wow, that's expensive!
Do the tweezers that you're not happy with have sloping or straight ends?
-
I have a set of each ::) but can't get a grip with either :(
-
Hmmm...might be worth trying a different brand. I have a very good pair with slanted ends which only cost a few pounds from Boots (bought a few years ago though) - the brand is 'Erbe'.
-
i hate all the fine downy hair on my face...what to do with this?I try using well known hair remover but not entorely happy with the result .
-
I leave the fine downy hair as it only shows up in the magnifying side of the shaving mirror in the bathroom. The ****ly whiskers CLKD, you need to let them grow at least 2mm so you have something to grip and they come out satisfactorily. If you try to get them as soon as you feel the little point you will fail and just get a sore chin like squeezing a spot.
-
Jane I know, Hubby says I'm 'excavating again' ::) but these tweezers break the ends however long I let them grow >:(
-
then you are gripping too near the end, i used to do that. Grip at skin level and don't put too much pressure or the tweezers will 'cut' them off. Took me ages to get the knack.
-
As for the downy hair that I can see on each side of my face, well it's pale so I only take the dark hairs from those areas ::)
-
>:(
-
Mu hubby is a clockmaker, for the tiny parts of the finer movements he has swiss made tweezers at over 30 quid a throw (per pair) when he's had enough of them, IE they wont pick up pins finer than a hair..... I nick 'em.... they do me fine.... (I've got a pair of edge to edge cutters that I nicked for trimming the cats claws too) ;D
-
I get my eyebrows, top lip and chin threaded every 3 weeks and use tweezers to keep obvious hairs at bay in between appts.
Tweezers go blunt eventually. I had a fantastic pair from Boots - very cheap. Wish I'd bought several of them as when I tried to replace them the new ones were rubbish. >:(
-
I used a hair removal cream on Thursday evening, already dark hairs are sprouting from under my nose and it's so sore to keep pulling :-\ ....... I also have long black ones from my nostrils :o - OUCH :'(
-
There you go ;)
-
Had eyebrows, chin and upper lip threaded on monday so atm I look ok....
-
Ouch :-\ ??? ..........
-
Why ouch? It's pretty painless :)
-
Is it really :o ::)
-
Yes, really. Up til this year I had only ever had my eyebrows done but tried upper lip and chin and it was fine :) No nasty redness afterwards either like you get with waxing.
-
Oh - how do I find a 'therapist' for my chin and upper lip?
-
Plucking from the chin is more painful than plucking eyebrows :-\
-
It IS but threading is less painful than plucking.
I dont know how you would find one CLKD. We have lots here as it is an asian "art", stalls set up in shopping centres, markets etc. Where is your closest multicultural town? There's even one in Debenhams but she's much pricier than the ones on the stalls.
-
Leicester; Brighton; Cambridge .........
-
Does lazer therapy offer a more longer lasting solution to chin hair? :-\
-
doesnt have to be a city CLKD. There are places closer to MK than Brighton!!
-
Aren't you near Northampton CLKD? That's pretty multi-cultural!
Taz x
-
Our branch of Superdrug do it and its just a little town. I think it's £5.
My only problem with it is the treatment chair is in the window of the shop beside the tills.
I really don't want everyone to watch me getting my tash done. ;D
Honeyb
X
-
;D lol no. I ve had mine done in the middle of the shopping centre a few times but I prefer the market girl as she has a curtained off stall. Debenhams have theirs right inside the door as well!! Like a sort of street entertainment for nosy peeps.
-
The shop window is also opposite the bus stop.
No way I want all the old buddies watching that.
What's next......a brazillian in the street.
Honeyb
X
-
 ........ there was a girl having her eyebrows done in full view of the public in MK today :o - I wnated to watch but for decencies sake didn't .......
-
All of ours are in shopping centres where everyone can watch. It's the norm I think! You are obviously more decent in MK CLKD as there are normally quite a few people watching here ;D
Taz x
-
I think what happens between me and my chin is personal :-[ ....... I don't even like DH looking :-X
-
There are more and more blond hard wired hairs around my whole face now not only under my chin >:( ........ my face is a mess :-\
-
I've got a double one !! Flappy neck too - don't reckon much to this growing old lark, it's over-rated.
Meggie

I'm fed up now. Hairs, hairs and more hairs - top lip and chin :'( : tweezers required every day ........ :sigh:

Same here.... plus in other places....

Tops of your toes yet? ::)

That would be the least of my problems! :D

Wax regularly and hair grows back less.
I have a regular 5weekly appointment, sometimes I have chin hair, sometimes not!!!
Always moustache, legs are sparse, pubic area is sparse, so it's not to bad if you do it regularly!!!
-
How long does it take, ann, before the hair stops growing so fast. Does it really last five weeks between waxes? I have to get rid of mine each morning!!
Taz x
-
I have been waxing for years, so difficult to say. You just need to stick with it. May take a few months. A saloon should give advice
-
I've never been waxed - I just wondered if you have to leave the hairs alone between appointments if they grow quickly - not a good look!
Taz x
-
Yes you do need to leave between waxes, but it does get to a stage that you not have much regrowth
-
Chin, top lip, eyebrows - all need professional help :-\
-
Why don't you treat yourself then CLKD. Book an appointment at a beauty salon and get it all attended to.
You will feel like a new woman.
Anyone tried the No No thing that's advertised on TV.
Honeyb
x
-
I had a pedicure in January and the Salon does waxing, brow shaping etc.. ........
What's no no?
-
It's a hair removal thingy. There have been lots of adverts on TV and of course they market it as a wonderful gadget.
Just wondered if anyone has tried it and it lived up to the advertising hype.
Honeyb
x
-
I see there is a hair removal thingy in the Sunday supplements …….. :-\ aren't brave enough to try one ::)

:bounce:

It amazes me that they
have such long st
alks! Tweezers are
a must!
-
The hairs on my chin are blonde, apart from one solitary black one. Weird.
-
Not looking forward to the stage when i sprout hairs on my chin.
Can i ask when they started becoming a problem? Was it peri or post meno? While on hrt or no hrt?
I am 44, been surgical meno since April and on tibolone for a few months and am curious / anxious re facial hair.
-
Mine started post menopausal. As most hairs are blonde, it hasn't been too big an issue. I'm sure it would be if you have dark hair.
-
I have one black hair on my chin that grows out of the middle of a small mole.
When it gets long I tweezers it but I have noticed little fine hairs down the sides of my face.
-
I have been plucking chin hairs for so many years that I can't remember when it began ::) - it's a satisfying tug when the skin releases them ;) - DH tells me that it's self harming :-X
-
Thanks for your input ladies, Im off to buy a magnifiying mirror pronto.
-
I have 2 - 1 in the office and the spare in the camper van ;) but finding good quality tweezers elludes me still >:(
-
CLKD have u tried La tweez professional illuminating ones, they have a little light that helps.
-
Who sells them, have looked but can't find ………
-
Victoria health, i buy loads of stuff from there.

:thankyou:
-
New members - this is an on-going thread ::)
-
What's that mean?
Taz x :-\
-
A new member was discussing her extra facial hair ;) - I have long black and long stiff white hairs on the sides of my face that I can't reach, DH tells me he doesn't see them but I bet strangers do :-\ .......... have had a set-to with the upper lip and chin this morning ::)
-
Why can't you reach hairs on your face CLKD :-\
If they were in the middle of your back I could understand, but it's your face, easily reachable for me anyway ;D
Honeyb
x
-
I can't hold the mirror as well as use the tweezers ………… :-\
OH don't suggest I have hairs on my back :D ……… I can't turn my head far enough round even if I stand with my back to the mirror ::)
-
Why don't you get one on a stand? You can get them quite cheaply and then you would have both hands free!
Taz x
-
I have a free standing mirror in the bathroom. Bought at one point as a shaving mirror it has a magnifying side. My mother has a big one that has a light. No problems seeing all your hairs then.
Even at 92 mother does not want a hairy chin ;D
Honeyb
x
-
I don't want to see them all ;D at least, not at the same time :D
-
If you can't see them you can't pluck them ;D
Honeyb
x
-
;D I can feel them though :o particularly those white stiff ones :-X
-
Chin, under my nose, above my eye-brows, under-neath my eye-brows …… it's almost a full time job!
-
Have researched the NO NO thingy and doesnt seem to be very good, Lumea do one but its nearly £400 , will wait until they come down in price - not sure if they do the blonde hairs, has anyone got a Lumea?
-
…… and upper lip, getting me down as are my eye-brows …… had those stripped in November [ouch!] but not since. I need to remember to get the cream out where I can see it …… and sharpen the tweezers, think DH has been using those >:( and they don't grip as they did ……...
-
Hi ladies. I have the dreaded chin hair. After plucking they too have become stiff. I have a coupe of questions about waxing i hope someone can shed some light on this before i have a go at waxing. Firstly, will i need some industrial wax for the stiff ones. The fear is i get rid of all the peachy fuzzy hair so my chin is bald with a load of stiff hairs left there taunting me. Secondly, as i have mentioned peachy fuzzy fine hair, if i wax my chin, where do i stop??? Dont want a shiny bald chin with 20 odd stiff hairs and the rest of my face with my peach fuzz that will just highlight the fact i've removed it.. Any thoughts??? :)
-
Oh this thread has made me laugh so much, thanks ladies. Dreaded chin hair - I've made my daughter promise that when I'm a really old lady she will still get rid of my chin hairs for me - I remember laughing at an old lady with a beard when I was a young girl - so mine is probably karma lol
-
Home waxing kits? I use good quality tweezers with an illuminating mirror in very good light ;) - it's those that I can feel but can't see that bother me, but oh! the delightful twang as they come out ;D
-
I went for some threading for my eyebrows and the Indian lady said your face is hairy shall I do it all? so I said yes, she says after 5 or 6 goes it should get a lot better, well am off for second one tomorrow. I noticed the thick white ones come in very fast but the light fuzz took about 3 weeks to reappear. Never give up though. I notice them on other people now and assume they are scanning ::)me for mine!!!
-
I don't touch my fuzz on the sides of my face ;) ……… those obvious ones though are tempting out the tweezers ;D
-
its trying not to feel for them in public, !!
-
Gawd. nipple hairs!! Had them Since my 20's - me and my tweezers are seldm parted! My chin sprouts, i use veet on my top lip every 2 months, but its better than looking like a man!!
-
DO NOT PULL BREAST hair - use scissors to cut them short but do not remove!
-
Oh this thread has made me laugh so much, thanks ladies. Dreaded chin hair - I've made my daughter promise that when I'm a really old lady she will still get rid of my chin hairs for me - I remember laughing at an old lady with a beard when I was a young girl - so mine is probably karma lol
I have an aunt who has no children and she made me promise I'll pluck her chin hairs when she's too old to do it herself ;D
I've had chin hairs since my early 20's, always had messed up hormones so I guess that was the reason. Had years of electrolysis, then more years of laser (along with my daughter who was cursed with lots of dark hairs in her teens, poor thing) and now I've finally just gone back to snipping them off with scissors. I hardly notice them anymore because most of them are now sprouting below my chin, almost on my neck. When I do sometimes tip my head up in the mirror I'm shocked at how long some of them have gotten!
-
DO NOT PULL BREAST hair - use scissors to cut them short but do not remove!
I've always pulled out nipple hairs, but I won't anymore! What does it do?
-
I have plucked the odd hair out from around the nipple it never caused any harm
http://www.newhealthguide.org/Hair-Around-Nipple.html
-
I have just had one of those bendy springy thingys delivered. Oooo nippy but it seems to get the little ones without having to dig and route about for them. Time will tell but it brought tears to my eyes.
Honeyb
x
-
;D but I enjoys a good root for those thick white hairs ……… excavating perhaps I was a miner in a previous Life
-
Excavating makes my chin sore. It's the bristly ones just at the side of my mouth and my upper lip that really annoy me.
Hubby wanted to know what had been delivered this morning. I told him he really did not need to know. No doubt my daughter will discover it soon as she is always in my drawers looking for something that I never see again ::)
Don't think she will want to borrow this ;D
Honeyb
X
-
;D …….. any thing other than personal items, my DH wouldn't notice the package being delivered ::)
My top lip is a real nuisance particularly under my nose, those hurt when pulled but I am fed up using creams :-\
-
I'm not, CLKD! Just a few minutes with the cream and the radio on, then hey-presto! they're removed! ::)
-
It's about 10 mins. at night - otherwise I go round the next day with bright red upper lip which SHOWS :'( and DH can smell the preparation after use. But I get fed up doing it ……… hence the tweezers ;)
-
I'm scared to use cream. I had a very bad reaction once on my legs and swore never again. Knowing my luck I would end up looking as if I had been punched in the mouth.
I would love to just cream it all away though.
Honeyb
X
-
I use Weleda's calendula cream on the area afterwards and there's never any redness.
-
Creams have improved a lot in recent years. I have tried all of them. I use them at night …….. also, the cream for legs is different to that to be used on the face and bikini line - apparently and certainly I haven't had a facial rash with the ones that I use.
-
Still scared.... ;D
My dad used to tell me that anything that is powerful enough to melt hair should not be used on skin ;D
I ignored him and ended up in a right mess.
Honeyb
X
-
;D your Dad would know then :D ………. did he try it first ……….. I do find that under my chin if I use a good face cream and leave it for a few moments, the hairs do 'pull' easier ;) except those that are white and wiry …….
-
Had another full threading experience 2 days ago , have signed up for 4 more, will let you know about the re growth,
-
I had eyebrows threaded in Sept., left them in a right mess at the hair grew back :-\ and it HURT :-X
-
The bendy springy thingy seem to work well.
My daughter as predicted found it....just shows how much of my stuff she pinches......it really takes out the little hairs. Silver lady pointed me towards this. It seems to take the hit a and miss work out of using tweezers.
Now feeling much more excess hair free.
Honeyb
X
-
I'm curious what the bendy springy thing is, I might want to order one! I used to bleach the upper lip hair when I was young, never tried the dissolving cream.
-
In November I had my brows threaded. OUCH! since then I've noticed that I have a 5 o'clock shadow above the brows >:( which need constant tidying …… any hints Girls?
-
Maybe have them done again CLKD. If it's above your brows it might be difficult to know where to pluck. The only other thing I can think of is waxing.
Honeyb
X
-
DOUBLE OUCH
-
I have a bendy springy thing too. Great for fine downy hair around chin area but I cant do upper lip with it as I find it really painful
Ariadne xx
-
I found out what the bendy springy thing is but I don't think we have them in the US, I'd never seen one before. Had to search the UK amazon to find it, the US amazon doesn't have it.

I got mine from eBay and some sellers will ship to the U.S.

I buy the Epicare threader.

:thankyou:
-
Thank you, silverlady!
-
I missed the article on This Morning regarding the lady with a beard ……… anyone?
-
Chin keeps me busy most days ::) I have noticed though that since eyebrows were 'threaded' in January that the sun doesn't tan that area :-\ ……… beginning to look like a panda!
-
Sorry CLKD ;D
Can't think of an answer to that one, maybe disguise with a little foundation
Honeybun
X
-
How weird, I have noticed that too. Have to rub in more of my tinted moisturiser over that area on both sides
-
what is 'threaded'?
-
Painful ;D
A small piece of waxed thread along the eyebrow line, twist and pull …….
-
why?
-
Instead of plucking BJ. They also thread your top lip if it's hairy.
Google and see.
Honeybun
X
-
yes HB, just found a you tube of it. I didn't realise it was for hair removal, I thought it was like plaiting the eyebrows - duh ::)
-
Have to ask BJ, why would you want to do that ;D
Honeybun
X
-
I have my top lip and chin threaded. It doesn't last long though. I tried to learn how to do it myself from a Youtube video with some success...
-
Well I'm never surprised at anything any more honeybun :)
-
Ooe-er CLKD - most days?. Poor you! I think I must be very lucky, as I have a single dark hair that grows very slowly about an inch below my lower lip that I keep an eye on and have to pull once a month or so, + a few on a small mole near my chin (ditto) and a few lip hairs at the corners (probably once a week I check these).
It's one of my biggest dreads is getting a hairy chin and not noticing - I do look in a magnifying mirror with my glasses on and try to peer at different angles and in different lights!
I don't understand threading - whenever I have my eyebrows done they always ask this - threading or waxing - and can't imagine the former. Must be quite s skill. My fringe generally covers them pretty well anyway!
Hurdity x
-
WAX :o no way!
I have a row of black dots under the right side of my chin which I have to poke daily ……. in order to either squeeze out or use tweezers on. Quite therapeutic!
-
CKLD do you find they are bad in one area for a couple of years and then suddenly head off somewhere else, its righ side of my chin too where there are about 5 and 2 on left side of chin but I have to check everywhere in case they spring up unexpectadly
-
Those that are quicker growing are on one side where I can see them in the mirror for ease of removal. Others on the other side appear sparingly. Then there are those on the side of my face in the fine downy hair on the cheeks ::)
It surprised me how long some of them are when they eventually give way :D
-
Saw a Braun facial epilator being suggested by DMail - might investigate, same article said shaving promotes collagen in skin which plumps it up ? Dont always trust the DM articles though,
-
I have seen several ways of getting rid of facial hair but I prefer being in control ;)
-
Hey, have you tried the tweezy? It's a metal coil with plastic handles, which you roll between your fingers. I use it for my upper lip and other facial bits and bobs. It like threading, but easier, and you don't have to go to a salon.
-
I wouldn't shave my face...ever...you would end up with stubble and that would not be good.
I have the metal coil thing. It's good but it makes my eyes water :o
Honeyb
X
-
I shave my chin a couple of times a week and, since meno kicked in, the couple of long hairs seem to grow back much slower. Actually, all my hair seems to grow slower, so I'm not complaining :D
-
The only method which works for me without causing intense irritation to the skin is gently shaving my chin with a good quality disposable gentle lady razor like Gillette's Venus ( formerly Agilite) which has Aloe Vera.
I'm happy and have far fewer skin erruptions than with all the other methods I have tried.
-
Investigated the epilator, mixed reviews and very painful so will give that a miss.
-
How did you get on with it?
-
I have just bought a No No off of an auction site ;)
Only just received it I will let you know how it goes !
-
Oh please do!
-
Our Local Beauty Treatment Parlour offers:
SHR - HR Pain free Hair Removal
which is apparently laser treatment :-\ - anyone tried it with success?
-
I have had laser treatment underarms and on legs below the knee. Six sessions on each - almost no hair left, absolutely worth the money, wish it had been around 20 years ago.
No side effects and has come down in price a lot since I had it. No idea how much for face as I have no problems there, but it is Diego worth looking at.

India Knight in Times is going to review a machine called Illuminage which is apparently very good, kills off blond and dark hairs, looked it up it s new and pricey but will come down, assume she is giving it a good go before she reports.

I tried the sensitive top lip waxing strips and all it did apart from hurt a lot was give me loads of little spots...
I decided to have a go at the peach fuzz at the sides of my face with, um...some gaffer tape (I know)...well it kinda worked, no rash and didn't make my face totally bald and shiny...
still probably not to be recommended, maybe I should find a hobby for my spare time ;D :o
-
 Himself tells me that he doesn't notice that bum fluff on each side of my face - slightly out of reach to tweezers. It's hard enough work keeping my top lip tidy and under-neath my chin - as for the nasal hairs, don't even go there :-X
-
What a great thread! I just joined and I've been reading around and stumbled on this looking for information on hirsutism. It sure makes me feel more normal.
;D
Anyway I've noticed my facial hair lessening since I've switched from oral oestradiol pills to oestrogel. I've had a few hairs around my nipples since I was a teenager so I'm used to those. I also have toe hair and thinning pubic hair which seems to be getting thicker after switching to the gel a few months ago. I've been kinda interested in facial hair for a few years and preventing an excess of it as I age if possible.
There has to be a reason for it but so far I can't find anything definitive. I'm afraid at this point if I really want to know the cause I'd have to go back to college and get a PhD to figure it out! I even picked the brain of a trans woman and she wasn't sure either!
So this is my first post and I'm outting myself right away as being obsessed with facial hair.
-
hello maelynn and welcome to the forum. Pop over to the new members section and introduce yourself to us all there. Not everyone will see your post in here :)
-
:welcomemm: browse round, make notes ;)
I've always had toe and finger hairs ::)
-
Will do babyjane and CKLD!
Hairy knuckles here too!
-
I have hair where it didn't ought to be and none where it ought to be :-\
-
My unwanted facial hair is definitely getting better. I'm not sure if it's the oestrogel or treating my hypothyroidism or both since it all happened at once but I've only had to pluck out three hairs this entire month and it used to be a daily chore. So strange...
-
…….. on make the most of it! I am always rubbing underneath my chin to see if there are any hairs that'v I've missed ::) some I can feel but can't see ……….
-
I used to have several long dark hairs appearing underneath my chin which I attacked with the tweezers. My friend and colleague and I made a pact that we were to let each other know if we noticed them. However as we both need reading glasses this wasn't too successful. In fact there was many a morning where we would walk into work and say " call yourself a friend didn't you see that 3 foot long black hair sprouting from my face"
Well I think all that tweezing has paid off and they have given up.
My face is covered with a lot of fair downy hair which I must have had all my life as I can remember my mam stroking my face and saying "You are like a little peach"
-
I'm always rubbing my chin too out of habit because for years I would discover hair that I couldn't see that way!
I just visited my mom (mum) for Christmas and she has a full goatee at 67. I'm 20 years younger than her so I consider myself fortunate that I currently only have to pluck out a few hairs. I seems like it could be partially genetic. ???
Working in the medical field I've noticed many women do actually have facial hair. When they are too sick to keep it at bay it quickly becomes obvious. I have an agreement with my coworkers flutterby that we will manage each other's facial hair if one of us ends up too sick to do it ourselves!
I've got one thick black upper lip hair that I'm hoping will be long enough to pluck by tomorrow. Today it isn't too noticeable and could probably pass for a small black head type of blemish. I thought of you CLKD when I was unsuccessful at plucking it out this morning!
-
Well thought out maelynn to have caring coworkers to attend to those hairs if you become incapacitated. I used to say to my friend's mum who was an ex nurse - you will touch up my roots if I'm in ITU for a long time. She used to smile and shake her head.
The worst ones are below the chin where you can feel something sharp and know it will be two days before you can get a grip on it.
Good luck with the hair pluck tomorrow M.

-
I've been away, light was really good to see under my chin but had taken the wrong tweezers ::)
-
Not the wrong tweezers, CKLD! Disaster.
I find I spot a hair in the magnifying mirror then look for the tweezers then can't find the damned hair Flutterbyx

Yep - but can still feel it with my finger >:(
-
I finally got it out this morning. Soooo satisfying. ;D
-
Oh yes, that gentle 'pop' as the skin releases the hair, also they amaze me at how much is hidden in the face: like an ice-berg ;D
-
Result maelynn yes!
-
That lovely smooth un-****ly feeling when it is out, until the next one want to join in the game :)
-
Haven't had time to feel my chin for 24 hours :o :-X
-
Uh oh CLKD! Better get to that soon...
I looked in my car mirror today and every tiny hair hair shows up! I just found a gray course one and a brown one I missed at home in my magnifying mirror this morning. :o
-
;D - I can feel one which is quite sharp but couldn't see it earlier >:(
-
I couldn't feel the ones I saw in my car mirror. I think I spoke too soon about my facial hair lessening though. I found quite a few today so maybe they are just all on the same growth cycle and went dormant for awhile.
-
I have lots of blond ones on upper lip :-X - pass me a brown paper bag someone?!?
-
I just ordered generic vaniqua (eflora) which is a prescription cream for excessive/unwanted facial hair. I should receive it in about 10 days and it takes @4 weeks to work so I'll report back if it works.
-
Please do let us know. Is that every day use for 4 weeks or weekly or ...... I pulled a long, hard, white hair from my chin earlier :D
-
CLKD, It's to be applied twice a day every day indefinitely but for 4 weeks to get results. :-\
It inhibits some enzyme.
I've been thinking about trying it for a while now and figured with everything going on it might be nice to not have to worry about facial hair. I needed to spend a certain amount of money on my pharmacy order to get free shipping so I added the cream which was sort of like getting it for free.
-
Most of my chin hairs are blonde, but one lonely one is persistently black. Good to have some diversity!
-
Think mine are more diverse Ju Ju, one side of my chin has quite dark hairs the side has all white ones ! :o
-
I'd better do something about mine before any of my young pupils - who sit just two feet away from me, at my level - say something like, "Why have you.......?" etc. :-[
-
I was talking to a lady who lives up the road, about my age. I was so reassured to see quite a covering of fair, downy hair all over her cheeks and chin, just like mine. Perhaps we could start a new fashion ::)
-
Yes. Whiskers with style......... ;D
-
I'd better do something about mine before any of my young pupils - who sit just two feet away from me, at my level - say something like, "Why have you.......?" etc. :-[
Oh children are very perceptive and will come out with observations you would rather they wouldn't! Like, " Miss, why are your teeth a bit yellow?", when you are giving instructions for a task or " Your feet are very big" when reading a story to a group of children. I did have a good answer! " All the better to......!" with a nod to Little Red Riding Hood.
-
I could feel hairs - eventually pulled out 5 which were thick, white and with a 'hook' at the end :o
-
I've never seen this thread before, how brilliant!
It's reminded me of the time my daughter was being interviewed for a senior school by a female teacher with a moustache, full on!! I was in the room praying that my 10 year old would in no way show that the situation was anything but normal. All went well but as soon as we left and were thankfully out of earshot she whispered, 'mum, please tell me that I'm never going to grow a moustache like that lady'.
-
I freeze if my husband strokes my face - terrified in case he feels a whisker Ive not discovered - ;D
-
Mine knows better than to stroke my face, I can't bear anyone too close :o ....... he says he doesn't notice the hairs ???
-
Why is it that I can feel hairs under the skin but when I look in the mirror with tweezers poised, I can't locate them >:(
-
What makes me laugh is I stand in front of the mirror tweezer poised and can't find them but sat at traffic lights quick glance in mirror and I'm the bearded lady!!! Must be the light 😂😂😂😂
-
I investigate my chin every morning, it's like brushing my teeth, it has to be done. I will clear them all as far as i can see with my 10x magnifying mirror and off i go to start my day. The next morning i will go and investigate my chin again and you better believe there will be another 6 or so sitting there waiting to be plucked again. I swear someone must be putting miracle grow on my face over night!
Eyebrows, these are now thinner than they used to be but some of the hairs are thick and grow really long, these have to be trimmed down when i notice them. There is also the odd grey ones that stick out and don't lie flat against my brow so these have to be eradicated too.
And yes jorainbow, as soon as you look in a different mirror there is a bearded lady looking back at you with a horrified expression and i have to spend the rest of the day looking down at the ground :(
-
I'll never forget visiting some friends who live in gorgeous Suffolk in a beautiful little village.....we were walking down their lane and a lady was bending down gardening and my friend said "hello" and the shock on my face must have been awful, as when the lady stood up to answer my friend, she was sporting a full moustache ;D Honestly, I couldn't stop staring...never, ever seen anything like it but it obviously didn't bother her!!!
-
:-\ or maybe it did but she couldn't keep up with demand. Don't get me started on the nasal hairs :o
:welcomemm: Sandy !
-
this has made me laugh and that's not something I do much >:(
Yes to all of the above and hairy toes too! tweezers are your best friend!
-
My toes have been hairy for years, like small spiders at the bottom of the bed ;). When I had my nails painted many years ago the lady offered to wax them :o ........ I told her that it's taken great skill to grow them like that :D
More thick silver hairs removed this week ......
-
Omg -I'm laughing so much at all the replies both now and a few years back. wonderful, absolutely wonderful.Ladies- you are all remarkable. We might feel like shit but aren't we fantastic! XXX
Ps watch those overhead spotlights in bars/ restaurants if you've neglected plucking duties. Not enough fingers to cover the hairy spots. you could try putting your feet up so your fingers could keep your toes company BUT only if you've remembered to pluck your toes! >:( ::) :-*x
-
OUCH! I'm proud of my toes. My legs are like ........ well, let's leave it at very hairy ::). If I had a swimming pool off my bedroom would I shave more often, probably not!
-
StellaJane - where *have* you been ;D ..........
-
I wanted to report that the Vaniqa cream is working. If I remember correctly I started using the genetic version called eflora around February 10th and I'm now only needing to pluck out about 1-2 hairs per week compared to multiple hairs daily. The nicest part is that my face feels pretty smooth most of the time. I will probably stick with it as long as I can buy it affordably. I realize it's purely a vanity thing but with everything going on in my life at the moment it's nice to not have to deal with facial hair on a daily basis. I use a pea sized amount morning and night to my upper lip and chin.
-
:thankyou: knowing me I would forget the application part ::)
-
I thought that might be a pain to remember to apply it but as it turns out I'm saving time not having to tweeze so I guess for me it's worth it. I started working full-time again a week or two before I started using the cream so I don't have as much time as I once did to keep up with dealing with facial hair.
-
Did U get this on Prescription? I've looked at the cost, crikey :o. Does it come with a money-back offer?
Well done on your job, are you enjoying it?
-
Sometimes when I pull a hair there's a kind of 'shaft' that follows it - sometimes it's damp as it follows the hair. I wonder if that means that there won't be another hair in that place?
-
My chin whiskers are like icebergs ! I see a 1/4 mm tiny ,scratchy, hair, pluck it out and about an inch follows it ! :o
-
;D - it really does amaze me how much is below the surface  ........ do you get the 'shaft' issue ever? Also, I've had some blonde hair which are black at the root when pulled out ::) - I could write a book :-X
-
Did U get this on Prescription? I've looked at the cost, crikey :o. Does it come with a money-back offer?
Well done on your job, are you enjoying it?
I got it for about 10 USD for a 15 gram tube. The tube has lasted me about 1.5 months. It's prescription but I ordered it from the same pharmacy where I get my estrogen.
Thanks for asking about my job CLKD. It's going pretty good. I needed to be able to support myself after my husband's recent affair so I'm certainly grateful to have it!
-
Oh another thread maybe? Thanks for the info.. I'm sticking with my tweezers for the time being but should there be a time when I wasn't able to tweeze, something similar will B considered.
-
Still a nuisance :-\
-
After being taken off HRT I started to grow a beard. Not too bad at first, but now I need to shave every day or I could end up with a 'full set'. I wonder how my darling DH can possibly fancy me when I look male rather than the woman I am. He's never said anything, but I am sure he knows. I have tried waxing, no joy. So I'm stuck with shaving and it's getting worse. Any suggestions?
-
Can't believe how many I have had this week >:( - and it is only Wednesday. >:( >:(
-
I looked under my chin line this week and :o but as Himself said, trying to reassure me, people don't look under there ........
I can feel small hairs that will require the action of tweezers later ;-)
-
At least another half dozen brewing.
It is like falling over and sticking your chin in a cactus sometimes. :-\
-
Yep. But less painful ?
-
Mine get sore :(
-
Himself tells me to stop excavating ::) - I put Savlon on the areas and they soon heal ;-)
-
It would definitely help to stop fiddling with them ::)
-
Have you been talking to him ;D .......
-
I have 2 pairs of good tweezers, always to hand - 1 in the car, 1 in the camper ;D
-
My mother in law came to visit us she had dementia and I was dreading it,when she arrived she looked like Bluebeard I felt so bad for her.My husband disappeared with her upstairs that night and after half an hour she came down with the biggest grin on her face,he'd taken her into bedroom and used his electric shaver and removed all the fluff from her face, what a beautiful thoughtful gentle man he is,she passed not long after but what a treasured memory that is,she must have felt so proud of him I know I do.x
-
Mine wouldn't have noticed ::).
My Mum asked for her tweezers after she went into care, I had not idea that she required them ...........
-
Yesterday I could see a very long hair but it was so soft it was really difficult to pull out but once I knew it was there :-\.
-
Oooh nice to see this thread back ;)
I have been continuing my dispersible asprin facial every so often to stop the ones that make my chin sore from burrowing in. It seems to work then I forget ::) Fluffy brain.
Every so often, I used to get a very long fine facial hair but now I only the nasty cactus bristles. Once I pulled a fine one out of my back, and it was 3 5/8 inches long :o I sort of regretted that, and decided that if it grew back, I would not pull it out but see how long it would grow. It did grow back, but it disappeared one day and has never grown again. :( Now I will never know :(
-
Probably broke off? I hate those that break off when I grip them with the tweezers >:(.
I will have a good 'go' tomorrow, the light in the camper is perfect for tweezing ...... a sense of satisfaction ;-)
-
I am going to give the asprin another chance tonight.
I keep investigating electrolysis but it does not seem to be widely available round here. Philips make a device called a 'Lumea' but it only works on dark hairs, and at least half my chin ****les are white.
-
electrolysis HURTS :-\
-
This heat wave is causing my extra hairs to grow more quickly >:(
-
Looks dirty ::) due to black hairs slightly below the surface. As well as those that are long and black below the chin line .....
-
If they are black and a good contrast with your skin colour, then a phillips light impulse thingy might work. They are about 250 squids though. Santa needs deep pockets.
-
yep you go to bed and no hairs you get up and hey presto you got pubes growing out ya face >:(
I know this is not supposed to be funny but this quote did make me chuckle this morning
-
If we didn't laugh ::)
-
>:( - I had a look at the left side of my chin this morning and it looks like it's been peppered with an air-rifle, I can see under the skin lots of hairs waiting to be born ........ so I've been 'at them' :o like I would do a spot .......... I found several blonde ones too as I was pulling with the tweezers .......... must put some cream on now or Hubby will tell me off again for " ferreting around my chin " :-X
Lol
It's not funny
I'm doing 7 a day so if I didn't pluck I'd have a big bushy ginger beard... it doesn't help that my eyes are going so I'm squinting trying to find blonde wirey hairs.. you can't see them unless the sun catches then I look like Noel Edmunds
-
It's painful though :-\
I took 11 out of one side and 5 out of the other this morning B4 attacking my upper lip >:(
-
Check out association of electrolygists and search for one in your area. Electrolysis is the only form of permanent hair removal. Every other method it grows back...
Only works on hair with pigment yes?
Mine are blonde 🙁
-
Tweezers out every day: under my chin, along the chin line towards each ear, top lip .........
-
Tweezers out every day: under my chin, along the chin line towards each ear, top lip .........
Don't have time to do that everyday CLKD!!
My little handy gadget does the same & I only have to do it every 2 weeks. :)
-
What's that Cazikins?
The NONO?
-
I've read reviews on the Nono and they're not great
-
No,no......🤣😂🤣
I get rid of my stray hairs with cream. Couldn't stand there plucking, it hurts as well. 😞
-
No no to the no no,I'm a plucker😂🤣
-
I love the twang as the hair gets pulled, sharply ;)
-
What's that Cazikins?
The NONO?
I duno jillydoll..what is a NONO???
-
Hi Cazikins
The Nono, is like a razor gadget thingy advertised on tele.
When you said you've got a gadget thing, I thought that was it.....😃😃
-
I have a small hair in the middle of my chin where a dimple would be ....... it's annoying me :(
-
I must admit, I did pluck a brown small hair off my top lip area
this morning!
I saw it in the mirror, and thought, RIGHT, you little blighter, your gone!! 😂😂😂
-
That reminds about the 2" long black one I pulled earlier from my right cheek: OUCH! with roots on :D
-
Genetics ? ;)
-
So has anyone had experience of chin hairs improving on hrt? I always had enviably clear skin but now the whole area looks a little grey as the hairs prepare to sprout from under the surface. As soon as they appear I want to pluck and then I have to occasionally dig to get them out.
I was in a meeting last week and could see another attendee mesmerised by the state of my chin. Just started hrt so can I expect this to improve do you think? I currently have 30 to 40 hairs in varying thicknesses inhabiting my poor chin.
Sparkler
X
-
Morning! I enjoy pulling out hairs :-X ;D
My chin looks grubby if I don't use the tweezers and occasionally I see, out the corner of my eye, a longer black one :o
How would you like to deal with those on your chin?
-
Oh bless him. Did he pull the curtain round for dignity :-\
I could see in the mirror that both sides of my face have long dark hairs as well as soft fluff ........ DH tells me that no one looks that closely but I know it's there :-\
-
Mine are worse on HRT but I'm not sure why?
Taz x
-
Mine are not always dark, but are like yard broom bristles, and I swear they are welded onto my chin bone. I will gently pull on a barely visible (but intensely irritating) ****le until it gives way and it is always several times longer than could have been imagined.
I have had some luck with using dispersible asprin as a skin scrub on my chin to rid me of the lumps from the unerupted bristles, and Savlon healing gel afterwards to stop it getting so red and sore.
My pores are not looking good - never had this problem before.
Taz, I wonder if the problem on HRT is that one has enough oestrogen, so some of that will be converted to testosterone in the adrenals?
-
Testosterone is the hairy hormone >:(
I have some that must be curled round under the skin as they are SO long ;D and stiff ..........
-
The most amazing thing......apart from having a whole new hobby ‘chin maintenace' Is that they grow so quick at times. Dot to 4mm overnight!!! It would look great in time lapse photography.
I have 2 that ‘never' come out cleanly. They ingrow every time and leave scars. Attractive huh? But the least of our problems in the dreaded monsterpause years.
;D
-
It amazes me that I can have a look-see and try to pull hairs in the morning - it takes however, until mid-afternoon B4 they are long enough for me to get a grip of them ;D
DH tells me off for excavating my chin 'cos I can't leave any that need squeezing in order to get a grip!
-
Yes ;D
-
That's very technical Stellajane ...........
-
If testosterone's the hairy hormone, why do I have to avoid progesterone that's testosterone derived coz it makes my hair fall out? Is testosterone responsible for hairiness as well as hair loss?
🤣😂 is that it's medical name Stella the hairy hormone 🤣😂
-
My expression and it's what I was told whilst I grew up
-
😂 maybe that would be a good name for a band ,the hairy hormones
-
Haha,I'm definitely in there🧔🏻
-
Just as long as I'm NOT lead singer......🤩
We'd never get any fans! 😳
My voice is like an animal being strangled! 🙀🙀🙀
-
Haha, mine too, I sometimes do housework or whatever with my headphones in,forget and start singing at the top of my lungs must sound beautiful
-
Music unites. Heals. Enables the body to breath correctly ;). We have a Menopause Choir ............
I could feel a stiff hair in my chin but it has been so difficult to get a grip of >:(
-
If testosterone's the hairy hormone, why do I have to avoid progesterone that's testosterone derived coz it makes my hair fall out? Is testosterone responsible for hairiness as well as hair loss?
It makes the hair grow on the parts you don't want it and fall out on the parts you do. :-\ :'(
-
I had a sudden spot come out on my chin earlier, it itched for 20 mins. then grew - so I gave it a gentle squeeze and it's gone down. I had 3 hairs that were tiny earlier which I could grip by mid-afternoon which came out ...........
-
Gawd, it's not just me then!
I had the odd hair or so on my chin prior to the menopause.... Currently been on Femostan for about six months and I literally have a beard!
I tweeze what I can every morning then shave the rest. But I can still feel new spiders legs tingling through my chin every day.
-
Tweezing is therapeutic, razoring noisy ::)
-
I bought that jml razor thing and it's rubbish,I could still feel a tiny stubble, whereas plucking it's gone, not that I've a lot, maybe 6 or so but aaaargghhh do they annoy me
-
I've seen that one Jaypo as I get emails from jml most days with some weird and/or wonderful stuff you never knew you needed. Will steer clear of that one and stick with my razor for now x
-
Definitely do CG it's exactly the same only not as good as a razor
-
I have a hair - I think - about 1" long underneath the skin. Like a pencil has been drawn along the skin. I wonder which end will emerge, allowing me to pull it ;D
-
That's 🤢🤢🤢 but in a kinda nice perverted way 😆😂 I once had a hair under the skin and when I pulled it out it was reeeeeeeally long, eeeuuww gross but soooooo satisfying 🤣
-
-
yuk! 🙀
-
I have a group of stiff hairs underneath that I can feel but not see >:(
-
I've hairy nostrils ;D ;D
-
You do? So do I....🤣😂🤣 I have hairy EVERYTHING! 🤨
-
What's that about >:(. DH has more hairs in his ears these days :-\
-
;D ;D my OH always tugging out ear hair and nose hair for that matter, least mines not as bad as his ........ yet
Make sure you shave before the 8th Jill ::)
-
You lot make me laugh.
Electrolyis is the only way to get rid of facial hair. It work on all colours, even greys. But it does cost and requires committment.
:-*
-
OUCH!
-
I shave my OHs hair out of his ears when I shave his head with the clippers. Don't touch his nose hair tho,🤢 he has two hairs growing out his ear lobes on each ear! Why? 🤷♀️ It's like grass, the seeds spread to places and before we know it, we have a lawn growing! 🤣😂
Where's the lawn mower? 😆
-
;D ;D
I've one hair in each of my nippy noo nahs 😆😂🤣
-
Only one? 🤣😂
-
Yep on each one😆
-
Yep, electrolysis hurts a bit. Wouldn't recommend it for Jaypo's 'problem' ???
-
Yep, electrolysis hurts a bit. Wouldn't recommend it for Jaypo's 'problem' ???
;D ;D ;D ;D
I wouldn't inflict that sight on anyone, would scar them for life
-
I think I'm gonna stick with my razor for now, mind it was a tad messy this morning as spots + razor = ouchy x
-
🙀 CG....not on your nippy noo nahs? 😆
-
Noooooo JD the hair ran out by the time it got there thank goodness, mind when I started on patches and it said stick on a hair free place below waistline I thought yeah right you're hoping x
-
;D ;D ;D
Come on CG you got a hairy bot then? ;D Don't answer just DONT answer ;D
-
I'm gonna answer sorry Jaypo 🤣🤣 no I don't have a hairy butt honest, but the damn things wouldnt stay stuck to my butt so gp said try thighs and I went 🙄 umm it says hair free x
-
I'm fair skinned and blonde, CG, and I'm sure blonde girls have more hair on their bodies than anyone else! Sometimes I feel like this.. ➡️ 🐑. 😂
-
You're not kidding JD, as long as I don't start howling at the moon 🤣🤣 mind don't think they have blonde werewolves 😁 x
-
We can be first then...Albino werewolves! Haha...🤣
-
For several days I could feel a thick hair but was unable to see it. However: this morning. GOT IT by running the tweezers across the area - it was very long, thick and white :o ;D
-
The wand thing helps those under my chin where I can't see :D as well as those in my nostrils, what's that about >:(. Suddenly my nose thinks it is a man :-X
-
What wand thing clkd is it a slim shaver?
-
Now you're asking ;D ........ got it from Boots
It's like a pencil with a battery and light so that I can see what I'm up to. It's fierce though :o
-
Time to shave off the White beard now Christmas is over CLKD ;D
:scottie:
That's me running for the hills for being cheeky ;D
-
I'm behind you Two Hoots
-
One large dark hair removed :o crikey, it's like an ice berg :o :o
The area on the side of my face was itching ....... out came the tweezers, itch relieved.
-
I love my tweezers ;D - I hate feeling a hair out of sight that I can't pull >:( ........ GOT IT eventually :D
As for my upper lip ...........
-
I have some m&s face exfoliator - it stinks of grapefruit and when you massage it in, it turns into little bits, like when you have done too much rubbing out on your school exercise book. It seems to be good at stopping the hairs making big lumps under the skin which is a huge blessing, as they hurt.
I tried letting them grow to give my face a break during the last two weeks.🦔
-
🙀 I found a dark 'whisker' just above my top lip today. 🙀
Pulled it out with tweezers straight away. It was a real 'blokes' whisker too! 😂. 🤦🏼♀️
-
I have found small zits in which long white stiff hairs hide. They release with a satisfying pop.
How about those in the nostrils :o :-\
-
Nasal hairs >:( :-[.
-
Flipping hate them soooooooo much. 😡😤
I’ve always been hairy, I think blondes are, 🤔 or is it just me? 🤣😂🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
-
It's just you ;D ;D
-
If I put the scissors near them it itches >:( ;D
-
Just started reading this from the start
on page 2 from Taz - "My nipple hairs are gradually spreading out onto the breast!" and "There is a whole forum dedicated to men who love nipple hairs"
got the giggles for a minute, until someone mentioned electrolysis!
-
I gave that up in the 1970s, it hurt and left a red rash on my top lip >:( :'(
-
Once in a while I'll get just one stubborn hair growing from the same exact spot on my chin. I don't know when it will pop into view but thankfully it hasn't shown up for a few months. When it does, out come the tweezers. ;D
-
It's the white ones that bother me, can feel them with my finger but have to get my face at a certain light level in order to get 'em ;D
-
I found a hair on the side of my face just on my jaw line, omg it was about 2 inches long, omg, how long had that been there!!??
-
Where is it now?
-
Plucked ;D
-
Did u measure it? I'm often surprised at how long they are!
-
I’ve noticed I’m far less hairy underarm these days. I think the hairs have gravitated to my chin! I’m still naturally blonde even though 70 is getting nearer and 60 further away, so why do I get black hairs on my chin?
-
My underarm hair doesn't grow any longer than it is without shaving. Fluff. Black hairs can be seen ........ they will turn stiff and white eventually ;)
-
Oh, the joys.......
💚
-
Yep. I've checked mine this morning: I now get small bumps of white skin under which will be a stiff white hair ! Oh the satisfaction of the ping as the skin releases the next long hair ;D
-
It's a weirdly joyful process! ;D
-
Annoys DH to hell and back ;D, he gives me The Look when I begin stroking my chin :o :-X
-
I’m a wimp. Never plucked any hair. I have an electrical facial shaver. I’ve been through very bad physical pain, endured painful injections through childhood without flinching, yet the thought of plucking hairs gives me the heevy geebies!
-
Oh it's fun after the 1st couple of times, initially the pull might nip and I find those under my nose can cause sneezing ;D what's that about :D. Try rubbing 'savlon' on first then pull from the slidy skin which has softened. It's those on the sides of both cheeks that amaze me that no-one does a double take when we meet :o
-
.... and top lip. Both areas look grubby if I don't keep them tweezed :-\
-
Haha Juju, you should try epilating your arm pits 😭😭😭😭😭😭 ;D
-
OUCH!
-
Yep ;D
-
.... and nasal hairs >:(
-
Earlier this week I did a whole side of face between ears and nose 'shave'. Then put a light layer of after sun lotion on to soften the skin. Already the black hairs are re-emerging!
-
Top lip, underneath my chin, side of my face - what's *that* about ;D
-
You're a man clkd ;D
Least you don't have a singular long one coming from your boobets
-
Off to take a look ;D
Nose hairs though :-\. However, I shaved my legs 3 weeks ago and there are very few growing back :ola:
-
How does anyone get rid of the long hairs that grow from the nostrils :-\. It makes me shiver to think of tweezing them. DH reckons he doesn't notice ::) but they are getting me down now.
Chin sorted. I used my small shaver last week, already some have grown back. Black. Blast! At least it keeps me busy :D
-
You pull them out. I never shave chin hair. They grow back thicker, darker and faster! You'll get 5''clock shadow :o
-
Nostril hair, can anybody recommend a decent strimmer please?
On the chin and upper lip areas, mine seem to have stopped growing. Eyebrows on the other hand are going bonkers, I’m thinking about cutting a fringe in.
-
Not true in my face Taz - trust me. I looks hard I does. Each hair has a single follicle from which a new hair will grow/not. A hair may grow darker if there is a hormonal imbalance. The very black or stiff white ones I can tweeze with relish ;D
But oh the nose >:(
-
My OH is forever plucking at his nasal hair,Boots sell those electric trimmers,I epilate my chin, the hairs don't grow back for ages
-
Ha, talking of chin hairs.
I looked at my chin today in a magnifying mirror. Don’t very often.
And there it was, 🙀 one long hair, on its own, sticking out my chin! 🙀🙀🙀😩
I was horrified. 🙀
Soon got the tweezers and ripped it out I can you!
Christ knows how long that’s been there. 🙀🙀. ;D
-
It's therapeutic: chasing them and that 'pop' as they are pulled :o
-
Have I not posted recently - still getting the tweezers at my chin and upper lip at least once a day :-\
Nose hairs - sideways on they poke out a LONG way >:(. I nipped myself with the scissors last week :'(
-
:) I have developed better eyesight me thinks since I have been taken of HRT for a bit! I looked in the mirror and to my horror I have the mother of all chin hairs! ;D I am sure my OH has noticed this but I quickly got rid of it and not said a word.
All the hairs on my legs and arms fell off being on the utrogestan hence GP stopping HRT until they can figure out what to put me on next, but maybe it would have got rid of the chin hair too?

I wouldn't have told on my leg hair falling off ;D
What about those on the sides of your face :o did u find those yet?
-
My chin hairs are still pretty grim.
If I pull them out, they grow back under the skin like a spot and sometimes get infected.
I am using salicylic acid face wash and AHA serum to remove any blockages and letting them grow a bit to let my skin heal and so I can get good purchase with the tweezers and make a good job of it.
For some reason there is a good crop of black ones on one side, but the other side is all white with one black hair ???
-
Similar here ;D
I can see lots under the skin, with a gentle squeeze most will ease out. One side is dry so I'm putting on a good quality cream after each session ...........
-
Ya beardy freaks ;D I'm mostly proud of me boob ones, going to start plaiting them soon
-
I've had the book ones for years but they are getting longer.
When do I get the hairy chest? 8)
-
When you visit a wig shop ;-). Do not pull breast hairs!
-
;D None on side of face CLKD but I bet I can give jaypo a run for her money on me boob ones ;)
-
Oh man, I have one single hair that pops out on my chin, same spot but only so often. I wait til it gets long enough so the tweezers can grab it and then I yank that sucker out! The boob hairs have disappeared though ;D
Good thing too cuz plucking those brought tears to my eyes ;D
-
Right!QueenofReds3 get them out, hairy boob contest about to start ;D bet C.C is jealous she can't join in now ;D

Hairy boobs? Really? :o When does this delight happen?
-
Any time now :whist: but do not tweeze them out!
-
:( I’m nervously asking (but I’m not sure I want to know!) why no tweezers plz?
-
I have always pulled mine out
-

Why not? What other method is there to remove them? :-\
-
I just brush mine ;D
I snip them with small scissors........ive only one on each btw,so no need to panic too much VictoriaV ;D

Baby brushes are the softest ;-)

Oh my goodness. I’ve had such a ;D at some of these posts dear ladies..
I have tried everything on the wee blighters on my chin >:(……….bleaching, electrolysis (blinking sore), plucking………and then I made a huuuuuggggeeee mistake. I bought a “Flawless” :o……..
The TV advert shows a lovely, young “smiley woman” looking longingly at her flawless hair remover. She has finally found something that works! My a***e!…..
Firstly, the only hair she has is the full, thick mane of hair on her lovely head! Secondly, they forget to tell you that you’ll finish up with a rather unattractive stubble and you have to use it every day :o…
I’m back to plucking. Don’t care if it’s unadvisable, I ain’t walking about with a stubbly chin. Yeuch
-
;D
Good old adverts, they give you spin and take your cash >:(
Have you tried epilating? Have have an epilator for my legs but I now use it on my chin, yes they grow back but it takes a good couple of weeks and they DONT come back thicker or darker,it's just like plucking really but you get every little sucker at once
-
I wasn’t thinking about the possibility of epilating actually ;)…I tried it years ago on my legs.
I shall give it a go ::). :bighug:
-
Each hair has it's own follicle. It will not grow back thicker or double/treble from the same follicle.
I love the pull when hairs release ...........
-
Those nose hairs :-X :-\ does anyone have a small 'thingy' that would cut them without causing intense itching?
-
A lawnmower CLKD! ;D
-
An electric sander?
:D ;D You should've known better than to ask us lot clkd ;D
-
I bought one of those thingies for DH to trim nose hairs and eyebrows! At his request of course. Not a romantic pressie! Is that what you want? I have female facial hair shaver for my chin. I’m a wimp about plucking hair! I have blonde hairs, apart from the odd black one, so they don’t show up like dark ones do. Perhaps I would be braver if I was a brunette!
-
Morning Girls: my hairs are dark with lots of stiff white ones, which are great to pull ;D
We don't have lawn so can't borrow the mower :D
-
Ju Ju - I sent you a PM ..... R U receiving me?
I tried cutting the nostril hairs earlier, OH the itch ;D
-
BUMP
-
Yep got them in abundance. Any ideas? Had them for a few years now and progressively getting worse.
-
Tweezers several times as day because they sneakily grow ......... as well as a small 'razor' thingy on a monthly basis for the cheeks which get hairy .
Nose hairs are more difficult with a real OUCH! potential :o :-X
-
I epilate my chin hairs, they take a long time to grow back doing it that way :D
-
That's no fun :D I like the 'ouch' risk :o
-
Oh believe me,you WILL get the ouch risk epilating ;D
-
Oh No I won't ...... :whist:
-
Went to bed last night with a hair or two under my chin. Woke up and a forest has grown over night The joys of being a woman.
-
I have small slightly hard white spots under my chin which when tweezed gently, have a white hair inside ;D
-
🤢🤢 ;D
-
A small, stiff, white hair :whist:
My legs and toes however >:(
-
OH those nostril hairs >:( :-X

Strange seeing this thread. Lately I've started to stare a lot at mature actress's on TV, and noticed that they are completely bare of any facial hair, I mean all over the face, even the nostrils!
Would love to know how it's achieved, anyone in the business know anything?? I'm fixated by their flawless looks ;D
As for me a huge magnifying mirror and tweezers for facial hair. Once used an epi-wots-it on my legs, never again :o

They all get their nose hairs waxed. ;) I used to have this done myself and not a single hair is left behind. As for the face they likely remove it all. Perhaps electrolysis.
-
:o :-X
-
What do others use for those pesky nasal hairs :o :-X
-
Pluck but can result in my eyes flooding lol you get those little electric nasal clipper things too

You can get very small razors designed for the face. You can use one of those for the nose and no pain. :)

My nose hairs are growing ........... >:( I picked up scissors :o. earlier then changed my mind
-
I have a lot of ingrowing thick, white hairs which I can't reach >:( in my neck area. DH is very good as long as he can grip with tweezers .........
-
As long as he doesn't pinch your neck.....eeeeeeeyyoooowwwwww
-
I hate my neck being touched so he has to consider himself extremely honoured ;D
