Title: Moisturisers
Post by: cubagirl on June 19, 2017, 11:09:06 AM
Struggling to find a decent body moisturiser that doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky. Would welcome suggestions.

Vaseline products or a good sun-tan lotion?

I love Aveeno, have dodgy skin so it is good for sensitive types, can't say I have ever felt it too sticky.

E45 Lotion cubagirl. Great for my very reactive skin and contains no fragrance. Boring, but does the job! x

I like Vaseline spray and go as it is no hassle to apply

I would also recommend E45 lotion.

Economical too.

Yes - the E45 lotion is not too bad on the stickiness ratings and has a nice rosewater scent.  It is cheap enough to splash all over. ;D  I hate sticky moisturiser but can tolerate this.

Dermol it great if you have broken skin/eczema type problems - you can wash with it too.

I haven't tried Aveno yet.

I used some Simple night cream on my neck and arms and chest last year - I didn't like it on my face so it was great that it wasn't wasted.

My grandma used to swear by glycerine and rosewater - the chemist used to make it up for her.  It smells lovely, but I used to find it really sticky.

Hi Cubagirl- have you tried Nivea in shower body cream? They do a normal and extra dry version. Slap it on rinse off, skin all soft and not lizard like. - not sticky either.
I think it's great x

I'm another Aveeno fan.

It's about the only thing that doesn't make me itch.

It soaks in well too.

I alternate between that and E 45 although my GP told me to be wary of it as it contains lanolin which some people react to.

Just a case of try them and see what suits.

Vitamin E cream from Super Drug, it's cheap and makes your skin lovely and soft, it comes in big tubs x

Read about that one somewhere Margaret. However, couldn't find in local shop, then forgot all about it. Will try again next time I'm in town or online.

Cubagirl - I much prefer moisturisers without chemicals - lord knows we are exposed to them enough without plastering them all over us. This is what I do xx on holiday I use coconut oil as sunscreen and moisturiser. At home I moisturise at night after bath ( if skin is dry ) with maybe olive oil or something a bit lighter. If you need something to dry quickly weleda do a lovely almond milk for the body. I also made my own face moisturiser - it's absolutely beautiful and all organic - so easy to make and worked out very cheap ;)
