Well here we are again. Just about the start of the new Strictly season. Sequins at the ready!
Quite a diverse bunch of characters. There is the usual eye candy, plump girl, old bloke etc etc. Will be interesting to see how they all knuckle down.

-
Added to the 2013 season thread earlier ::) - when does the programme kick off :cancan:
-
Partners were chosen at weekend. Think it's another 2 weeks yet.
-
Missed that. ::)
-
Well? I think Tess and Claude did OK! and the costumes are bright and sparkly already - and that's the mens' ;D
-
thanks for this, I love Strictly :)
-
Yes they did better than I expected & so did some of the dancers. :)
-
I think Claudia Winkleman has been fantastic over the last two evenings, a natural comic. Some of the dancers looked really promising and there were some who looked a bit 'oooooh no'. Funnily enough I had an appointment in Harley Street this week and as I came out and was making my way to the tube I saw Greg Wallace coming towards me carrying a hold-all, with a big smile on his face. I said 'Good luck on Strictly' and he said 'Thank you Darling'. On the strength of his performance last night, I think he needs it, harsh but fair :-\
-
Oh dear yes, he plodded his way through it. Scott was pretty awful too.
Favourite was Frankie. But Jake, Pixie, Mark & Caroline were pretty good too.Alison Hammond wasn't too bad, but dance suited her. Be interesting to see how she manages with something like an American Smooth.
-
Yes Frankie was really good, she looked a little bit Audrey Hepburn-ish....for week one there were some really good dancers. I miss Vincent and Flavia , I went to see their live tango show in the West End last year, they were amazing.
-
They are absolutely superb, even hubby who can't dance to save himself, appreciates how good Vincent is.
-
Love Claudia, I don't really like Tess and I still think a man and a woman would have been a better combination.
Did anyone notice her shouting affecting her mike? or maybe it is my TV?
Very good start, love it! :) (http://:))
Booked to see Brendan's show in January. Been before, it was fantastic!
Also seen Pasha's show and Anton & Erin
- addicted? me? yep! ;D (http://;D)
-
I think Anton would have been good but he must have wanted to remain as a performer. I'm not sure how much I like Claudia and Tess together. They will give us a good show each week but for me there is something missing and I don't mean Bruce. I think Claudia is the sidekick in the way Tess was to Bruce but I'm not sure Tess is a strong enough personality to lead it. Just my two pennyworth for what it is worth.
-
I totally agree babyjane!
-
It's going to be weeks before I get clued up on who is who this year because apart from Tim and Alison ......... ::)
-
Yes know what you mean CLKD but there is the 'one from Eastenders' and the 'one from Casualty'... :)
-
….. and Gregg Wallace - and 2-night ZOE is back ;)
-
Jake was amazing! Who knew? :o
-
He was superb!
-
Jake was brilliant ………… not only could he dance he was acting too :)
-
So, who do we reckon is for the chop tonight?
-
The DJ ……….
-
I think you may be right ;)
-
It's on ;D
-
The chef, don't like him :(
-
Well the DJ is safe so I guess it will be the chef!
-
NOOOOO …….. Greg is going …….. not the right decision >:(
-
That's a shame. I'll miss Aliona.....
My 'Good Luck' message to Greg was obviously the kiss of death :-\
-
Politics! >:(
-
It's always like this at the beginning of a new series. Votes appear to be based on personality's popularity rather than dancing ability. But the right ones will win through in the end.
-
I like Pixie, Frankie and Jake at the moment :)
-
Me too bj.
-
Jake for me - can't see him staying on Eastenders after this somehow.
-
Jake was a real surprise, I thought he would be one of the 'also-rans'. That other guy fom Eastenders who danced with Natalie a few years ago was really good too x x
-
Mat di angelis (sp)
-
No, the one I was thinking of was Scott Maslen, he paid Jack Branning in Eastenders and was very good on Strictly.
Matt di Angelo was good too - he danced with Flavia.
-
Of course ………..
-
Donny Osmond! Really? What was that about? Did not enhance the programme one little bit. As for judges "performing" each week, not too keen on that either. Apart from that still liking same dancers.
-
Pasha does it for me :-*
It's on ………. anyone ;) who will go 2-night?
-
Love strickly makes my sat night to watch that who will win
I think either jake from eastenders or frankie seem like natural dancers
i wont mind watching that every night not sure the irish lady should have gone before
andy murrays mum . sorry andy murrays mum but not sure ull ever dance right ::)
-
I love the that, after watching Strictly avidly since it started, my daughter and I now spot the same errors the judges do! And we listen to music in the car with an 'internal choreographer' working out which dance would be most appropriate! Love it!! ;D
-
That made me laugh Scampi. I'm the same. Especially Simon Webbe's rhumba. I sat there and said not enough hip action for a rhumba. Craig makes good sense when he critiques dances. Judy Murray's hand placement. Tim's lack of actual dance moves. Got them all. I'd have managed better than "Yeah baby" Donny Osmond. ;D
-
…….. who got dreadful press today ::) and his non-PC comment >:(
However - I think Judy Murray may well improve a little …….. for a start she's not used to wearing high heels :o so being able to walk across the floor should be 2 points ;)
Would like to see Jake or Pasha win ………
-
I hope that Claudia behaves tonight >:( and doesn't try to interrupt Tess when doing a piece to camera ……… :beat:
does any1 else arrange their evening meal around Stricckers ?
-
 (http://:yes:) Yes CLKD - I do!!
I absolutely love it (and Pasha & Aliash (sp?)
Also prefer Claudia to Bruce, she is bonkers and makes me laugh. Prefer to be without Tess!!
Enjoy your evening!
PN x x
-
Will do ……… and I prefer Claude too, I think she 'goes her own way' rather than reading an auto cue ;)
-
;D (http://;D) definitely 'goes her own way' - crazy lady! Loved it when the popcorn went down Tess' top last week - hilarious!
-
A bit too 'over the top' for my liking ;)
-
I love Alijaz too
Who did you like tonight and who do you think will be voted off?
-
I am beginning to feel sorry for both Scott and Tim .......... :-\
Those costumes were FabULus!
-
I thought Scott was pretty hopeless tonight and as for Anton flinging Judy across the floor in that ungainly manner............. :o
-
It was un-gainly. But she soldiered on and on and ........ why can't Anton have a 'good' partner :-\ :-X
-
I don't think they know who will be good and who won't until they get going and by then it is too late.
-
I agree CLKD why can't they give Anton someone good, they always seem to give Brendan someone good.....
-
I'm fed up with his attitude this year :-\ - how can a person irritate me from behind that screen ;D
-
I would have preferred him to be presenting the show. I think he is past his best before date for performing.
-
Who: Brendan or Anton?
-
Oh, Anton :)
-
He can come and sit on my settee any day ;)
His dance partner - had a boy recently (can't remember her name ::) )
-
Erin Boag. there was an article about how she lost her baby weight in a magazine at my chiropractor.
-
:thankyou: ……….
-
Brendan has always had an attitude in my opinion. Calmed down a bit after he married.
-
Oh what a farce tonight :'(
-
How the heck is Scott still in it?
-
I don't think he'll be in much longer.....
-
Supposedly a public vote, however ………. :-X Cynic, moi?
-
What the heck is going on? Scott through and Thom in the dance off!!!
Ludicrous!
Have always loved Boy George's voice but it is going a bit thin now sadly....
Who will be the other one in the dance off?......
-
Waiting for the result Right Now: casting Vote for the 1st time in ages: <holding breath > Simon and Christina :-\
-
Well what a shame, Thom is really good and was clearly loving it, he is far better than Scott and Judy :(
-
I would be interested in knowing how 'exact' the phone-in votes are :-X
-
I'm upset at what happened this evening - soooooo wrong.
DG x
-
Neither should have been in bottom two. Scott must be clinging on by the skin of his teeth. Judy doesn't seem to take herself too seriously, though she did look more relaxed last night, her dance was very basic. Alison has oodles of personality, but think her flat feet are going to stop her going much further.
But this happens every year, some of the hopefuls get voted off before the truly dire ones.
-
Scott will be getting the Radio voters and Judy will be getting the Scottish votes. (Present company excepted :) ).
They are both poor.
-
Fear it may be Jake on the ropes tonight unless the Eastenders vote can help him.
Did anyone think that Tess Daly and Zoe Ball look alike stood together ? - i did.
Find it very annoying when they keep on about 'tomorrow night' on 'Saturday night' when we all know it is filmed on the Saturday - why can't they just say so !
Hattie X
-
Exactly Hattie! I'm always amazed that the result doesn't leak out. Do they lock everyone in a room and not let them out until the Sunday show has aired? :-\
-
Do they lock everyone in a room and not let them out until the Sunday show has aired? :-\
;D That might make an interesting show in itself with a hidden camera !
There is a way of finding out the result ahead of tonight - someone used to post how to - i can't remember what it was though.
Hattie X
-
Digital spy is how you find out, but for those who don't want to know we stay schtum on here. :)
Jake wasn't the worst last night, although he didn't perform as well as previously. Mark & Frankie were really good though.
-
Just had a look at results >:( and now wish I hadn't....won't do that again :stupid:
-
I confess I always look at DS Strictly CD forum spoiler thread on a Sunday morning to see the result because then I don't watch the result show. I have done this for the last 3 years ever since I found out it is possible to do this.
-
:-X please don't tell :-\
I enjoyed most of last night's dances apart from Steve - couldn't see if he was smiling or not in that silly mask :( ………..
-
I wouldn't dream of it :-X
-
:thankyou:
-
I couldn't even guess who might go out tonight after the debacle last week.......
-
Nice to see you Judith <wave> - nor can I ……… until last season I could usually have a good idea as to who was going where each week ::) …………. I don't want Jake to go …….. I have decided that I would like Frankie and Kevin to win :-*
-
Yes Frankie and Kevin are such a lovely little couple, they remind me of Rachel Stevens and Vincent Simone....it's coming on now....
-
That's it! Proper choices ……….. ;)
-
No Claudia again this weekend. Her daughter was hospitalised after her Halloween costume caught fire. They expect her to make a full recovery. Wishing her daughter well!
-
Same here - I expect Zoe to hold the Fort really well!
-
:'(
-
Surely Judy will go sooner rather than later. Yes we do love an underdog, but enough is enough. One thing though, she doesn't appear to take it too seriously, which is maybe why she keeps getting votes.
-
I think perhaps Anton's fan base also helps ::)
-
This week though it looked as if Anton had gone to Debenhams and was dancing with one of the mannequins from the shop window. She was as stiff as a board!
-
Good description! Zoe's programme is trying to put far too much in each evening and not spending enough on the 'articles'! and why not accept that we, the general public, are not stupid and say 'earlier this evening' rather than 'on Sat. night' !!!! I feel an e-mail coming on >:( ::)
-
Surely Judy has to go tonight....I predict her and the wildlife guy dancing with Ola (Steve?) in the dance-off....that would be fair but what do I know :-\
-
I think Judy will be in dance off, at least if there's any justice she should be. Not sure who would be up against her though. But whoever it may be, will get the vote surely, unless they fall on their faces/bums. ;)
-
Think that Anton has a larger fan base so may well last another week ::)
-
That would be a shame as it would mean we would lose one of the good dancers. Surely she will be in the dance off...please.... :-\
-
But public are voting for best celeb not best professional, at least they should be. Anton reminds me of my cousin, not sure what it is exactly. Slightly old fashioned.
-
It is public voting which counts, it can alter the whole concept of who is kept and who ought to have gone ::)
-
Yes at last! The judges won't put her through :)
-
Can anyone tell my why Annie Lennox didn't have a dance in front when she sang a few weeks ago? Dame Shirley on now :o ………..
YES!
-
Phew, such good dancers left in it now!
-
I reckon Sunetra & Steve will go soon. After that it's anybody's to win.
-
I agree, the others are all really good, Brendan was having to shove Sunetra all over the place in the samba, he can cover up a multitude of sins but I think her time is coming to an end ;)
-
I'm glad Judy did her best dance for her final night. She went out with her head held high and we have all got to know Judy Murray the woman a little bit better. Not half as cold and hard as she seemed on the tennis circuit.
-
I totally agree with you babyjane. This has been a really great weekend of Strictly.
There are some great contestants left in the show. DGx
-
Simon is doing really well but for me it is Mark who has made the greatest improvement. Pixie and Frankie were good from day one so have not changed as much as Mark has. I thought he was a wally at first but his Charleston was great stuff :)
-
I think that, after a Life-time in flats, simply walking across the dance floor was, for Judy, a great achievement!
-
Thought Simon was really good tonight - best dance of the night but voted for Steve and Caroline as I think Steve and Sunetra might be in the dance off!
-
Steve & Sunetra I think will be in bottom two.
Simon is a dark horse. Initially thought he wouldn't get this far. He may win it yet if he keeps going like this.
-
Simon was good tonight but I can't take to him for some reason.
I like Jake and Pixie the most. I agree with babyjane though, Mark is the one who has improved the most.
-
Pixie is very, very good as is Frankie. Could be an interesting final in a few weeks.
-
Strong competition this year - last night was fabulous.
So many good contenders. DG x
-
It was good last night and lovely to see Claudia back ……… miss Zoe though
-
So Sunetra is in the dance-off and I guess Steve will join her. Simon was a bit of a revelation last night, looks like he suddenly woke up one day and realised he could dance.....
-
OMG Barry Manilow looks a bit odd!
-
Am watching now - can't stand Barry Manilow though - good voice but obviously ageing ……… can anyone explain why Annie Lennox didn't have any dancers in front when she sang a few weeks back :-\ ?
-
Right decision, poor Claudia got a bit tearful last night, I am glad she is back!
-
Agree - right decision. We are getting down to the 'good' dancers now - it's going to the Wire again this year :bounce: …… I keep changing my mind as to who I would like to win ;D and I would love to see the Judges doing something for Children in Need next year - Craig and Darcy, Bruno with Len?
-
Barry Manilow's face was so tight he could barely open his mouth to sing. I feel all these stars who resort to so much work being done on their faces, end up looking like caricatures of themselves. I'm sure he's spent a fortune on trying to retain his youthful looks, but why not grow old gracefully. A few lines & wrinkles give your face character. That's my excuse anyway. ;D
Think Sunetra may be the next to go.
-
I totally agree with you cubagirl :)
-
Yep - too much money, too much time on their hands >:(
-
And as for Renee Zellweger, let's not even go there :o :o
-
;D ………..
-
She must have low self esteem to have had asked for such a drastic change.
-
Too much money, too much time - oh did I already say that!
perhaps if they took on the Strictly challenge …….. ::) ……….
-
She was gorgeous before, her face had such character, now she just looks ordinary and NOTHING LIKE HERSELF!!
-
Too late once they have had the op though ………..
Good It Takes 2 this evening …….
-
Apparently Rachel Riley and Pasha are girlfriend and boyfriend now ;)
-
Ooh, how do you know ::) (http://::))?
Did I hear that Kevin and Karen are in a relationship? Does anyone know?
Loving all of it :parti: (http://:parti:)
-
Kevin & Karen are engaged so far as I know.
-
Thanks CG :) (http://:))
-
Kevin and Karen have been an item for a long time - Janette and Aljaz are a couple too.
-
I think that Pasha was with the dancer he was with …… but memo-brain can't remember who it was ::)
'around the World' this week what ever that means …..
-
Vanessa Feltz mentioned on her Radio 2 show yesterday morning that she had been to a Strictly 2013 reunion dinner the night before and all the celebrities from 2013 were there with their professional partners and she mentioned that Rachel Riley and Pasha were now a couple. I remember it was reported that she left her husband last year just after she had appeared in Strictly. There have been quite a few partnerships, isn't Flavia engaged to one of her celebrity partners....I will look it up now :)
Yes, Jimi Mistry!
-
I thought Pasha set up home with Chealsea ………. dance is very sensual though so anything can happen ::)
-
I just looked it up CLKD and they are definitely a couple, plenty of photos of them out and about, did I read that he was your favourite?
-
Flavia married Jimmy Mistry.
-
Pasha is my favourite - 2-day ;D [not sure about a Russian wearing a UK Uniform though]
Ian Waites is really the 1 I would choose to dance with ……….
-
Flavia married Jimmy Mistry.
I didn't see that coming!
-
Are we taking bets yet (not literally!) on which three will be in the final?
I predict Pixie, Simon and Frankie.....
-
Pixie, Frankie and Jake.
-
Ummmmm, must admit, I was a bit torn between Simon and Jake - and Jake did do that great 'twerking' last week ;D
I think Sunetra will go this week..
-
Yep - Sunetra does OK in hold ……. can't decide yet ……..
-
Sunetra will go this week I think
its getting tough now, they are all of a high standard
I do think Mark has progressed the most since the start, but I don't think he will win
Frankie and Kevin are great, but then I do like Jake and then there's Simon doing very well and .....oh I don't know :-\ (http://:-\) all the makings of a great few weeks though :parti: (http://:parti:)
-
It'll come down to best dance on the night, rather than favourites I think. I too think Sunetra will go this weekend, but you never know. I think one of the girls may win this year, Frankie or Pixie. There are a few good ones this year.
-
I think Sunetra and Caroline will be the next 2 to go.
In the final I would like to see Simon, Pixie and Frankie
-
Me too Babyjane, they are the ones I picked ;)
-
It's on - again ::) - how about that Irish Dancing :-*
-
That Irish dancing is so good to watch and those girls have such great legs!
-
Those Irish dancers, WOW! So good.
So Sunetra has gone. Who will be next? Getting harder by the week.
-
Yep - right again ;) …….. Jake or the guy in the pink shirt next ..
-
I think Mark may be next, Sunetra has lost so much weight, I always used to think what a big a*** she had in Casualty when she wore tight skirts and now she has slimmed right down...
-
Mark - that's him, thanks!
Not in your bath yet then ;)
I would like to see Vicky Gill put forwards for an MBE - all those lovely costumes, all those ideas and hard work!
-
Yes, I had my bath before the scary programme, it was very scary tonight....
-
Wow Caroline and Pasha's tango was amazing!
-
It certainly was!
-
Yep - think that Mark may be headed to the Exit …….
-
I think so too. Him or Jake. Didn't like Jake's dance at all tonight.
-
I had Jake down to win for the first couple/3 weeks ::)
-
So did I CLKD, but some of his dances are a bit silly looking if I'm honest, especially last night's one.
-
I wonder if Jake is on Strictly because he knows that he is going to be written out of Eastenders (re Lucy Beale) and he needs to be noticed more to get work.
Hattie X
-
Hattie, do you know something no one else does yet?
I wonder if Jake is on Strictly because he knows that he is going to be written out of Eastenders (re Lucy Beale) and he needs to be noticed more to get work.
Hattie X
-
;D no Babyjane
I watch Eastenders and did wonder when Jake Wood joined Strictly if he was doing it for a reason -( well i suppose they all are really )- Eastenders is a well paid job for an actor. i always think Adam Woodyatt has been lucky.
Do you watch it Babyjane ?
Hattie X
-
Sometimes, usually when a long running cliffhanger is reaching its resolution (like the Lucy murder).
I am more of a Corrie regular :)
-
Nope. It's always good to increase 1's profile and Jake seems to be good at dancing ……. it's how they manage the learning and rehearsals when they are in full-time work! and we've never seen any one run off stage screaming 'can't do it, can't do it' ………
-
guess the professionals know the limits and how far to push them - i do feel though that Kevin pushes Frankie too much - she doesn't always look comfortable now.
Hattie X
-
I think Kevin really really wants to win now he's so close.
Is it me or does he sometimes look like he is made of rubber in his dances?
-
A good dancer has bendy knees ;) ………. sort of floaty and supple ………
-
I thought poor Frankie looked as if her costume had come from Primark last night, compare her outfit with Kristina's stunning red gown ::)
Also, I didn't like Jake's goofy expressions.....not sure who will go tonight but I don't think Caroline or Pixie will be in the dance-off.
-
That's me wrong then! Pixie is in the dance-off ::)
And she's gone, that's a shocker! ???
-
SO shocked that Pixie has gone...
It was their first dance off.
Thought that Len was a bit strict telling them off like that with their lifts in the first dance! Maybe that clouded his judgement and he wanted to prove a point to Trent about his comment :-X ...
Rebecca
-
A bit of a shock but Len was correct and the Pros put their partners onto the wrong foot by pushing the boundaries.
Opens the floor up completely ;)
-
Len made it quite clear last night that a) he didn't approve of the lifts & b) pixie's legs. Ah well.
-
I agree Len was a bit miffed. As soon as we knew Pixie was in the dance off I thought Len would not choose them. Great shame, but rules is rules
Very interesting semi final, I think Caroline could win, I absolutely loved their dance this week.
:cancan: (http://:cancan:)
-
I would like to see the three most improved contestants in the final now, rather than ones who have been good from the start and not changed much. That would make it a dance contest rather than a popularity one.
Mark and Simon came to the competition not having danced before and have worked very hard and their pro partners have got the best out of them. Caroline has also improved a lot. Frankie peaked a while ago and Jake doesn't appeal to me.
In the final I would now like to see Caroline, Simon and Mark with Caroline the winner.
-
Still can't decide ;D
-
I agreed with last night's result - I didn't think Pixie did very well at all (although I may have been coloured by the fact I simply don't like cha-cha-cha, samba and salsa because they all just look like a mess!). But she just didn't seem as precise and polished as she had been in previous weeks - Simon was, to my mind, the better of the two.
I didn't rate Caroline's Argentine tango either (don't care what the judges thought!) - it was severely lacking somewhere, to my eyes. But, I just can't take to her, so maybe I see flaws that aren't there!
Anyway, I'd like Mark or Simon to win!
-
There was 1 dance which I thought was a 'demonstration' dance but can't remember which one ;D - did like the tango, it's Pasha's total attitude to which ever dance he is working on ……. these Professionals are GREAT!
-
just read that Ola has been injured - she has been outspoken about the show but hope that they give her a mention.
-
Injured whilst training for "The Jump." Quite serious leg & hips injury. Hope she mends OK.
-
Reckon Jake & Mark will be in dance off. Caroline was superb!
-
WOW! a 10 from Craig :o ……… I'd like to see Mark go through ……… if only to validate his Pro choergrapher [sp] …….
I do wish they would say 'later this evening the scores will be added up, filming will take place for tomorrow evenings show ……… >:( we're not stupid :bang: ……..
-
Not as daft as we look eh? ;D
Yeah Mark's partner was pretty cut up about her choreography being panned, especially by Len. If dance has to move forward, someone has to push the boundaries.
-
Not as much green as cabbage looking ……...
-
Digital Spy will have the results about half ten if you can't wait until tomorrow!
Bramble
-
I always check the DS spoiler thread bramble. I never can wait for the result but I always keep :-X
-
Caroline deserved her four 10's tonight. I think Jake or Mark will go tomorrow, I look forward to the results show so I won't look it up on Digital Spy!
-
I think Simon will go tonight.
-
Yes, I think Simon too :-\ and please don't tell us! :-X
-
Yes keep Schtm (sp?) anyone who has looked it up ;)
-
what do you take me for? I am not like that. Husband doesn't want to know either and I never even hint to him :-X
-
Not aimed at you in particular :P ……. but to anyone who drops by and thinks 'spoiler' ;) :kick:
taking bets anyone? did any of you vote, I couldn't be bothered to get out of the sofa to pick up the phone and I couldn't decide anyway!
-
I haven't voted at all this year, just haven't really had the enthusiasm for some reason....
-
I've voted every week online, first time ever. And no I was not the one who kept Judy in for so long. ;D I may be Scottish & will support folk who are also Scottish, but others got my vote because they were more deserving.
-
I voted several years ago at the Final but can't remember who for ;D - they won though!
-
Was convinced Len would go with Jake! Winner will be one of the girls I think.
-
Yes I think it will be Frankie or Caroline :)
-
Well I got that wrong ;D
Kevin was in tears ……. it's his girl-friend he will be dancing against :o so think that Simon should win :P
-
I think Len made the right decision again. Jake is good, but he has had the same strengths and weaknesses since the start, and has not been consistent. Mark has improved week on week since he found his 'dancing feet', and has worked really hard on his weaknesses - he deserved to go through.
Still can't get excited about Caroline - no idea why! So, I want anyone by Caroline to win!!
-
I was wrong too. Can't take to Simon or Frankie, although Frankie is good.
-
Would like to see Mark come through because has not only improved, he has a natural smile too :-*
-
I agree, I am so glad he is in the final because Karen has done a great job with him and he has worked so hard and improved every week. That is what Strictly is about, not a popularity contest but it always is.
Same with Caroline, no one knew who she was to begin with but now, boy has she come into her own :)
-
I think Caroline might just win it.
-
I hope she does, she is my choice to win :)
-
so what do we all think now we have seen them dance. who do you think will win, who do you want to win? Who is going to go out 4th?
-
Sadly I think that Mark will go out first. Simon to win?
Then again ::)
-
I loved Carolines show dance but have no idea who I want to win ??? (http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/index.php???)
-
WELL! :bounce: I had hoped Simon would win ………….. but there really wasn't a decision I could make, each dancer I thought - I'll vote for them ;D
-
Final 3 were superb! Glad Caroline won though. Eldest GD was so excited watching first half, kept doing her versions in front of the TV! ;D
-
Loved watching as usual but now feel let down - read that Caroline has had 3 years professional training in the past.
If Simon can do it from nothing can't the programme makers trust that to happen each year with someone else - isn't that what the programme is about or is it now all about the ratings versus the other channel :(
-
I must be weird as I seem to be the only one who hates this programme (and all others like it)? Have only ever watched about 15 mins of the show ever and found in silly and boring. Just embarrassment and egos. What am I not getting? ???
P.S. The girl who won, who the heck is she? Have never heard of her.
-
Rosebud - I'me with you.
Hate, loathe and detest it.

It doesn't matter who the 'celebrities' are :-\ …… it's the fact that they stood up there, managed to walk across the floor in those heels :o and managed to engage brain to feet each week ;)
I had dance training until I was 18 but I wouldn't be able to do all that …… each dance is different and the Professionals push their partners further than I would even consider [I'm still learning to totter on those heels ;D]
I feel the same about 'soaps'. I have enough 'soap' from my Mum - I could write a book/story line that would keep the public enthralled for years ::)
Wonder how many sore heads there are this morning :drunklaf:

Never watched it either nor any other reality TV, truly embarrassing.
-
Why is choice embarrassing :-\
-
Rosebud and Limpy i think i might be joining you next year - the enjoyment is fast going for me. I do appreciate how talented and hardworking the professional dance teachers are though. Wouldn't have taken much to wish Ola a speedy recovery either somewhere in the programme but she wasn't mentioned - it's not all about glitter and hype.
-
I agree. Olga's situation hasn't been mentioned :-\
I think those Professionals who have been in the Show for a few years have really improved - the psychology that goes with making a dance suitable for the Cele they are partnered with never fails to amaze me. I think that Christina excelled this year!
-
I have bought OH a Kristina Rihanoff calendar for Christmas as a 'stocking filler' ::)
-
I am so glad Mark and Simon were in the final, the result of weeks of hard work from them and their pros. Caroline had a head start but she still worked hard and improved.
I do wonder why Ola's injury wasn't mentioned, unless she and James asked them not to. Or are the programme producers annoyed with her for joining in with The Jump, which was a silly decision for a professional dancer to do if it compromises her future as a dancer.
-
I think you are right Babyjane I read that the beeb weren't impressed as she was under contract to them for the whole of the series but then started practicing for a programme on a rival channel while she was still under contract to them. They weren't impressed that she was injured and couldn't fulfill her contractual obligations apparently.
-
I doubt she is planning on returning next year and think this is why she went off & did something else. I read somewhere that she was thinking of finishing with Strictly this year as she & James want kids. So maybe she wanted to challenge herself with something new before that.
-
Not sure I would risk life and limb if I depended on my legs to make a living.
::)

The Peoples' Strictly ………… didn't know anything about this …….. but it's a tear jerker ;) …….. for Comic Relief
