Title: lingerie
Post by: clio on April 04, 2013, 08:16:31 PM
Can I ask you ladies something about lingerie!! Is it important yo wear the full bridal lingerie when I get married??  :-\ or am I just penny pinching?  ::)

Well no one sees it but it would be nice to have something pretty.
You don't have to break the bank as there are loads of shops with mid priced things.

As long as you feel special....and comfortable....on your big day that's what counts.

I could not even consider these basque type things.....God I sound old.....Just too uncomfortable.

What did you have in mind.

Basques are lovely.  You can get comfy ones :)

Wear whatever you feel best in Clio.  It's your wedding.

That's an interesting and topical question Clio.
My daughter has just chosen her wedding dress.  it has a boned corset top built in.
She asked me if she could still wear basque still underwear.  She felt she would be under-dressed if she did not wear a bra (it has built in).  I said she should wear what made her feel pretty, sexy and comfortable and there was a range of softer styles and less structured underwear that was still just as lovely.

What would you like to wear Clio and are there a few different versions of various strength/comfort?
I think it is good to be 'you' on your wedding day and to make yourself feel as pretty and confident as you can, whatever underwear it is.

Could you perhaps go shopping and try on a few pieces to see how you feel in them?   Do you have your dress home?  Could you take a few home, try them on with the dress and return them?

I suggested my daughter does that when she gets her dress.

I am excited for your wedding Clio  :clapping:

Thankyou ladies for the replies. It more for my fiance really ;) ive been looking at matching bra, thong  ??? Suspender belt and stockings ::) in all in the sale would be £50 and dont think I would get much more wear out of it later. I do have my dress at home and wasnt planning wearing stockings but think my fiance would like it. I think I may just be being mean not considering looking nice underneath as well as on top. Ive only ever worn sexy undies for him once and he loved it, he has never complain me not doing so on a regular basis. Our wedding day is simple and short. We are only having a church servic,e with 4 familey members, no meal, cake or  ::)reception. After the service we are jusy coming home then going for meal....just the two of us in the evening. So maybe there will be a few hours to kill before we go out, so maybe I should get underwear. I would be doing it for him than me, I much before my old faithful.

Personally I wouldnt go for a thong, but that's just me and it all depends how long you are going to be wearing it for.  A few hours is ok maybe but...more than that I wouldnt like.  Debenhams and M&S outlet do reasonable bra, suspender and bikini style pants that dont cost the earth.  So do Camille if you have one near you.  Or you could look at La Senza.  Have you looked online to get an idea of price/style etc.

Were you really up at 4am this morning?!   :o

Work is an early start, so had my breakie whilst on internet. Debenhans was where I saw the lingerie. I think I should just buy it and make my husband happy.  :D

If it's comfortable (reasonably!), you like the way it looks and makes you feel, and you like the reaction it gets ( ;) ;)), hang the expense and buy it - you don't get married every day!!  And it will get worn again - special occasions still happen once you're married, and nice underwear can make any day a special occasion  ;)

Have a fantastic day.

Definitely go for it - just to see the look on his face later ;)  I got a very pretty all-in-one from M&S to wear under my dress and still wear it now and again.

I would ban thongs  >:( - awful things.

DH would prefer me in suspender belt, stockings, basque - and that's through the week  ;D - but he gets short shrift.  I did buy matching undies, pyjams and dressing gown when we celebrated 20 years together, his face was a picture  :-*.

Wear what you feel comfy in.  There are some pretty bra/pantie sets or soft bra-tops around.  I think men like to peel off until they reach flesh  ???  ::) .........

What underwear surprise could a man have.

Just goes to show what a sheltered life I lead.

I had a front fastening bra on and bikini pants. The bra did it for my hubby!  ;)

I wore stockings and suspenders under wedding dress and when getting ready that day, I managed to pull the velcro off the underskirt and my mum had to come and stitch it on again with me in full regalia - was so worried she was going to give me a row for wearing sussies!
