Title: Bloating HRT advice?
Post by: th43 on January 11, 2026, 10:40:18 AM
Hi! I’m new here and started HRT (Everol Sequi) 6 weeks ago. I have loved so much about it so far (it’s helped with night sweats, low mood, anger, brain fog, sleep, skin elasticity).

I had my first period on it this week (2nd week second month). The first few weeks I didn’t experience bloating but the last 2/3 weeks I often feel like my tummy is really bloated and uncomfortable and I have been unable to lose any of my Christmas gain despite following following Slimming World (I have always lost 4/5lbs on my first week following slimming world).

I don’t want to stop or change the patches as they are working so well in every other aspect but just wondered in anyone else has experienced this and whether they’ve found anything that’s helped reduce the bloating?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions! :)

Hi th43
I am using the gel and have found I have a sweet spot with how much I can tolerate before becoming uncomfortably bloated. I know the general advice is to give it 3 months to settle but in my experience the bloating was far more responsive than that depending on the amount of gel I used. Given that you are experiencing a lot of positives you might decide to put up with the bloating if it doesn’t subside. Yours might be related to the fluctuations of your own hormones - perhaps linked to when you are producing more estrogen. I’d suggest going through another cycle and seeing what happens.
