Title: Fatty liver
Post by: Losingtheplot on December 30, 2025, 01:51:59 PM
So my Gp has told me I need a 2nd blood test to check my liver as my previous result showed slightly over range at 131.

130 is the max limit. Apparently anything over this requires a 2nd test. If the 2nd result is above 130 that is classed as 2 abnormal results.

This would then mean a scan of my liver.

The GP wasn't too concerned as the 1st result is slightly over.  I am obviously concerned about the next result. Due to have bloods taken end of next week.

Since I turned 50 my health seems to have deteriorated. I don't think my body can tolerate certain foods now and I will cut out alcohol to see if that helps.

My concern too as the fact I have taken Ad's for over 20 years and hope they havent caused any damage.

Fingers crossed the next result is within range.
Apparently 2 years ago my result was 100.  I feel with this and my prediabetes I need to incorporate more healthy habits.

Oh the joy of getting older!

I wouldn't worry too much.  If you do have fatty liver it can be reversed and is very common.

I had a scan for gallstones 20 years ago, which showed fatty liver.  I was told to adjust my diet and lose weight.  All my liver blood tests have been fine.

Hi AP,

Ahh really,  thank you for reassuring me. I am currently losing weight anyway. Start of a New year always makes me eat healthy. Its good all your subsequent tests have been ok.
