Post by: N5ECY on December 16, 2025, 05:03:26 PM
Hi ladies. Just wondering if you can advise. I've decided to give Fluoxetine a try 20mg. Been taking for almost 4 weeks. My anxiety has improved but I can't sleep. Tried taking before bed. Wake at 3am for a few hours. Tried taking in the morning. Same.  I feel I should give it another month. What do you think. Im on Evorel patch 25mcg. Hysterectomy 20 years ago. Oopherectomy 10 years ago. Thanks

It can take a while for any uptake to be noticed.  I take my main dose of AD at night ........

How long are U awake after 3 a.m.?  How do U feel when U wake up, is it sudden ?

Does the reading help?  Do U awake from busy dreams, I often do, feeling knackered

DH asked me years ago what I was thinking about that made me depressed, my brain was racing so fast that I was unable to tie it down!

I have found that sometimes relaxation from toes to the neck will help.  Stretch the toes gently and hold; relax.  Work up through all the muscles groups without getting cramp, I rarely get further up than my thighs  ::)

Hi

I also take Fluoxetine and I wake up with morning dread and a rush of panic which I feel is hormone related and has eventually started to improve although not gone completely. I have been taking it since 17th October.

I find that if I listen to some relaxing music or deep sleep music on You Tube it helps me calm down. I listen to guided meditations on there too and some help to get you back off to sleep.

Stick with the Fluoxetine if your anxiety has improved.  I take mine in the morning as keeps awake if I take it at night time x

Thanks. I've tried both relaxation and meditation  and they do help but reading helps too. I think I'll plod on for another few weeks with the Fluoxetine. See how it goes
