Title: Balancing Hormones
Post by: LittleClaire on November 07, 2025, 11:29:35 AM
Morning everyone,

I was just wondering, if taking a higher dose of progesterone would make my bleed heavier? Or is it not that straight forward?

Basically, I increased my Evorel Patch from 75 to 100 in August and was taking 200mg gepretix cyclically previously. The GP told me to stick with the 200mg progesterone on the higher patch but called me yesterday to say guidelines have now changed and I need to take 300mg gepretix now with my patch cyclically. I was just wondering if this would balance my hormones better and make my symptoms easier to manage or if it makes it worse with heavier bleeding etc. does anyone have any experience with that?

Thanks

The additional progesterone is likely to make bleeding lighter if anything.

It may increase progestogenic side effects - I have always considered estrogen as the A hormone that everyone loves and progesterone the B side, whose effects are;
Bitchy
Bloated
Blues
Bunged up
Binge eating
Backache
Blood pressure lowering
Bad skin

Of course not everyone experiences or is sensitive to these but if you are you might notice them more.
