Hi all
I’ve just been prescribed Vagifem to help with internal issues as I wanted to see if it would help with sensitivity.
Has anyone found it helps with libido/sensitivity as well as lubrication?
Also, can Vagifem be taken every day if needed? I know it isn’t the same as Ovestin, but I had to take that daily and wondered whether Vagifem has the same flexibility and safety?
Thank you.

It won't help with libido or lubrication, best to use a moisturiser alongside the vagifem. It can be used every day, topical oestrogen is very safe to use.

VA is usually caused due to the drop in oestrogen levels causing the body to become dry: inside and out.
Treatment can be inserted [not taken] every night if necessary. 2-3 weeks initial nightly use then as necessary: every 3rd and 5/6th night. It depends on how symptoms improve with treatment.
Some find that they require moistures too - I use KY Jelly when necessary as well as estriol [ovestin] - others have found Yes products 2 b helpful.

I actually find Vagifem irritates a little - well affects my bladder in that I have increased frequency the day I insert it. Sometimes I get a bit of spotting too - but that's probably due to the actual insertion.
The creams are probably best for immediate lubrication and if you can I would ask for both (as I do) - Vagifem and estriol cream but if you're using both I would suggest the weaker 0.01% cream which can be used more liberally around the outer vaginal area rather than Ovestiin which is 1%.
They will all help re comfort during intimacy - especially the creams though Vagifem will lead to plumper tissues which should also lubricate themselves better.
As said - they won't help libido at all but if discomfort was an issue then being more comfortable may help you relax, improving the whole experience ::)

Thank you ladies for replying - I have just started and already find it isn’t as lubricating inside as Ovestin but I will persevere and compare in time. I am still using Ovestin outside which helps with itchiness.
Pity about not helping with libido - with tweaks between oestrogen and thyroid meds, sensation down there is drastically reduced :-\

When I need 2 begin a reload my bladder is irritated the next day ........... using 'ovestin/estriol internally with a smear on the outer vulva/labia areas.
It can help with sensation as the walls of the vagina plump up so don't despair! Whether this will be enough for the 'O' reaction remains 2 B found ;-).

I can't be sure what's vagifem and what's my systemic HRT as I started them at the same time, but I've definitely got improved sensation! I think for libido improvement you need something systemic, although increased enjoyment could help.
