Hi Ladies.
Sorry to start a new post but I'm desperate for help. Sorry, quick back story.... Following 30yrs of undiagnosed deep / stage 4 endometriosis & adenomyosis & fibroids & ovarian endometrioma's & cervical stenosis. I had a total hysterotomy and ovaries removed 15 weeks ago. I was in perimenopause with symptoms of vaginal atrophy before surgery and using HRT 50 patches. I also had tried vagifem but it caused excessive bleeding and pain (I didn't know I had endo at that point but it lead to diagnosis thankfully) Before surgery I was having consistent high white blood cell count on urine tests but I still believe it was due to vaginal discharge in sample. After surgery I had a bad vaginal cuff infection plus a hematoma that caused terrible bleeding at 5 wks post op. Plus back to back UTI's.
Now I'm on HRT patches 100 but have terrible Vaginal atrophy which I believe is BSM. But I am worried about using vagifem again as I have a possible terrible thrush infection that just wont go away and is getting worse. I read vaginal estrogen will make the yeast grow faster but my swab test came back clear but my urine sample came back positive for yeast. GP's have given up and now wont see me until end of November as they are saying its not urgent and most likely still healing issues.
Could the thick, white discharge (sorry) be part of surgical menopause?? I am not itchy but the discharge is horrible and non stop. I've had 4 weeks of Fluconazole thrush tablets, countless pessaries but no relief.
Sorry last question. Do I need a diagnosis for Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) to receive the correct treatment? My GP surgery would never take my symptoms seriously until I paid to get a private scan to get my endo etc. diagnosis. When I asked for HRT they gave me antidepressants!! When I told them I was heavy bleeding for 25 days a month they told me it was normal for perimenopause. Now they are saying it cant be GSM as I'm to young! I'm 47yrs. But I have every symptom on the list.
I feel so low and desperate for help. Even when I told my GP I was suicidal after surgery. It still took four appointments and an emergency out of hours to get my HRT increased. Any advise would be gratefully received. Thank you
