Hi all
I started bio HRT for perimenopause symptoms around three months ago (two pumps of Oestrogel per day, Estriol vaginal cream two days per week and Utrogestan 200mg 12 days per cycle. I'm due my three month GP nurse check up to see how I'm doing with it all next month. I've always had issues with painful heavy periods due to a fibroid but over past few months I'm bleeding for about three weeks of the month and it's beginning to worry me :( - has anyone else had the same experience? Thanks!

Hi
My sister in law and my best friend have both experienced this but neither are on hrt although my friend takes menopace and says her symptoms are much improved albeit she now gets period cramps having never experienced them previously - I would say that this is more about fluctuation of hormones than anything but you should definitely speak to your gp about it as they may suggest adjusting your hrt or say that it needs time to settle.

I went through this for years. On and off HRT, heavy bleeding which was so painful. Scans etc , GP said everything was ok. So I went private. On examination the consultant said my only option was a hysterectomy. After he removed everything, he said my womb was one big mass, I had various growths and cysts throughout. My cervix had almost collapsed and had cell changes !! You know your body better than anyone. Make sure you get listened too. Good luck going forward x

When did you last have your fibroid checked? HRT does often cause them to grow leading to heavier bleeds.
