Title: Bad skin and menopause
Post by: Teasie on October 06, 2025, 09:17:58 PM
My skin began to get bad and then it
lasted so long it turned into a staph infection. I've been on antibiotics for 6 weeks and it keeps clearing up. Every time I stop antibiotics, it's comes right back....this is my third flare up in 7 weeks. Any suggestions, advice or similar experiences welcomed. Am at my wits end. P.s.

When you say bad skin what is it you mean exactly?

Is it acne? Rosacea? A rash? Is it on your face, body, genital area?

It started as I thought just acne, but it turned into a really bad infection on my face. The doctor said it was a staph infection and I've been on antibiotics now for six weeks. It still hasn't cleared,so they've put me on a low dose antibiotic for a further four months. It's very debilitating and painful too

Impetigo springs to mind ........... which many GPs probably don't see often.

Which ABs has been prescribed and how do U feel with it?  Has a swab been taken?
