Title: Late Stage Peri or Post Meno bleeding?
Post by: Mungo29 on September 29, 2025, 11:09:05 AM
Hi, new to the forum. It's great, really helpful.

Wonder if anyone has experienced similar.
I turned 54 in the summer. My last proper period was Feb 24.

HI!   :welcomemm:  A wait and watch would my decision, if this is regular it may well be cyclical. Which means counting again .......... we may reach 12-14 months after the last period but Mother Nature may well throw in the Curved Ball.  Ovaries keep pumping out for a while ........

My periods waxed and waned: disappeared for months then came back, fortunately lighter with no pains.  Then go again probably 2-3 years B4 I realised late in 2002 that they had gone.  I occasionally had pre-menstrual systems, enough to make me think "Oh No not after all this time!"

How do U feel overall?

Sounds like 'normal' v late peri to me. You need to start counting again though although the NHS thinks you're meno if you've been without a bleed for a year your body may think differently. It's quite possible to bleed again after a year.

Thank you. That's reassuring. And as to how I feel overall  - I feel really well  - the best I've felt in a little while. Now the night sweats have gone. I am getting a good night's sleep so don't feel like a zombie during the day

This sounds typical for untreated perimenopause, periods can wax and wane before ceasing completely.

I absolutely would not rush to have invasive investigations for normal physiology.

It is likely that if you have had a few more ovulatory cycles the estrogen produced has relieved your symptoms, however you do not have to be at the mercy of your ovaries to feel well - have you considered hormone therapy?

There are multiple options, several of which can have you completely bleed free.

Thank you. I had not considered HRT as I didn't think my symptoms (flushes, and night sweats and the tiredness) were that bad. Now they are temporarily alleviated I realise they were bothering me, so maybe it's something to look into.

Me again.
I have had period like feelings two weeks after the last round of spotting and now I am pink spotting again. So that's 14 days after the last time.
Is this a concern? Or fairly normal occurrence

Abnormal is perfectly normal I'm afraid, this is nothing to worry about.
