Title: Irregular cycles on HRT
Post by: Witchinghour on September 08, 2025, 10:10:50 AM
Is this usual? I started HRT in Nov 2023.

My cycles were irregular before HRT and regularised for a bit but I'm now back to irregular cycles. 😩

Previous cycles were: 15/29/32/28/13/48/28/13

If it's not expected, how can I fix it?

It's probably usual in that The Change causes periods to wax and wane.  How do U feel overall?

If under 50 you could take a combined oral contraceptive pill continuously instead which will have you bleed free.

If this is unsuitable or you are over 50, then keeping whatever estrogen you take the same and switching to a bleed free progestogen such as the IUS or an oral progestin could be considered.

There is no medical advantage to suffering repeated episodes of vaginal bleeding, whether endogenous or iatrogenic.
