Title: Test results
Post by: CACEY on September 01, 2025, 04:45:05 PM
Hi, I’m hoping someone can make sense of my blood results. I am currently on Estradot 100 patches and have Mirena coil. Any help would be appreciated   🤗
Free Androgen index: 5%
Serum sex hormone binding globulin level: 73nmol
Serum testosterone: 3.5 nmol
Serum oestradiol level: 141 pmol

Constantly feeling rough, dry eyes, no energy and all the other miserable symptoms 🙈🙈🙈🙈

FAI - upper limit of normal healthy range and similar to mine.
Testosterone - unclear if this is free or total.
SHBG - normal
Estradiol - rubbish

Private practitioners like your estradiol around 400, even the NHS thinks it should be 250-300. But now unless you have a really good GP you fall into the 'system says 100mcg max' trap ( like many of us). If you want to feel well your best option might be an appointment with Newson (others available) and pay privately for a higher dose.

I agree, that level of oestrogen is very low and I would be surprised if it gives you any symptom relief.  It's actually at the top of the range for post menopause women not using HRT.

Have you tried Oestrogel?  You might absorb it better.
