Hi, I'm new to the forum and also just started HRT a little over 2 months ago. The hot flushes stopped almost straight away which was great but one month in I had lots of new thread veins appearing on my legs and a few on my ribs. I feel lots of little twinges in my legs too. I think I'm on a low dose of Utrogestan 100mg one at night and 1 pump of Oestrogel in the morning. After one month and being quite concerned about the thread veins (no swelling or heat in my legs) I started lowering the amount of Oestrogel slightly (just over half a pump). I think the twinges lessened with this but I'm not sure.
My really helpful and knowledgeable GP has been away so I didn't go straight back to her and thought I'd stick out the three months that is suggested. I'm really concerned about the thread veins as my menopause symptoms were only slight and I possibly wouldn't have started taking it if I had known it would cause vein problems.
Does anyone have any experience or suggestions for me please? I will go back to the GP in a couple of weeeks but I'm worried about the damage I might be causing.

Yes! I have developed lots of thread veins all over my legs and sometimes my legs feel achy and heavy.

I had little thread veins on my legs before HRT, so don't think it was caused by this, just age I think. I have noticed them on my face and around my nose (not a drinker LOL), I think this is caused by many years of hot flushes which have damaged the veins on my face and a constant runny nose makes me blow my nose a lot, so this probably caused the ones around my nose.

Thanks for your reply :) Sorry to hear about your legs. Have the thread veins got any worse and do you think it's related to HRT?

Hi, thanks for your reply :) I've had a few tiny thread veins for years but within 1 month of taking HRT the amount has increased about 80% :( I've read lots of info about HRT but I'm not really seeing this being an issue for other people.

I'm guessing this is not a common problem. I'm sure it's linked to the HRT and I'm getting more concerned and anxious about it. My legs twinge all the time and I'm thinking of stopping taking it alltogether. Any help or advice about veins I would be really grateful because it's worrying me constantly. Have I done myself damage by carrying on taking it?

I think I've found a thread that has helped me, I'm not sure why searching for threads with my concern didn't work weeks ago but I'm glad to have found it now.
I'll put a link to it if anyone else has similar concerns:
