Title: Ovary question - cycles differing alternately?
Post by: Clovie on August 26, 2025, 08:51:53 AM
Anyone in perimenopause get two alternating  length cycles, as if one ovary is giving up the fight, kind of?
is that a thing for anyone?

I'm HOPING that I'm coming to the end of menstruation, (very late menopause) and although I'm still quite regular, I see a pattern where alternate periods are of different spacing as if my ovaries are on different time schedules?

(I know despite being taught in school etc that ovaries take turns that this isn't always the case in fact )

Anyway, just interested...
Anyone?

Thanks

Ooh I don’t remember the alternating ovaries thing, that’s very interesting. I’m not very helpful as mine are doing different weird stuff. But it could be why, a new way to look at it for sure.

I always used to feel ovalation, like a stitch in my side for a few days and it was alternate. I do remember though towards the end of peri menopause I only felt it on the left side, I assumed the right ovary had finished. I very occasionally felt it after post menopause but had no periods, just the left ovary having a last fling.
