Hi gang,
I've just had a funny moment.
Came over shaky and then started sweating. It was dripping off me and I felt like I could pass out (I didnt) was shaking like I needed to eat and it was really scary.
Its going off now and I'm wondering if that was a hot flush. Do they make you shaky and weak?
I occasionally have these moments but this was horrible, so glad I was at home or the panic would have really set in.

Hi Mummytron,
I have had a few similar-sounding episodes over the past few months which I think were exacerbated by the hot weather (in the UK and when were we suffering a heatwave in France). Very unnerving as they come out of the blue and that brings on the immediate anxiety. I decided to get blood tests done for various things (thyroid, iron, diabetes etc) as it sometimes feels like a drop in blood sugar and I wanted to check if it was diabetes. Tests came back ok so I have put it down to hot flushes/hormonal fluctuations. I have eliminated or cut down on some things from my diet (the usual...caffeine etc) and try to keep hydrated and focus on regular healthy nutrition so blood sugar doesn't drop and this has helped.
Hope you don't get many more because they really are awful. X

Thanks for your reply,
I've had blood tests in the last 6 months and all were ok.
But yes they truly are awful. I've cut down on everything in the last year, one caffeine drink first thing, barely any alcohol and eating better.
I was pretty pathetic ::) but I'm.not good at being ill anyway so I always think the worst.

I've had this. Exactly as you describe. But it's only happened 2 or 3 times over the past 5 years. I'm on HRT. I don’t know if it's a hot flush or something else like low blood sugar. I feel weak, trembling and like I urgently need to lie down and eat something high sugar/carb.

Isn't it horrible.
Do they wipe you out? I dont feel up to much since I had it. No energy. I've also noticed my tummy feels a bit off, not a bug though.

Just had a similar moment.
Like a surge inside building up my body, heart rate a bit more obvious and hot.
It gives me a really unsettled feeling if that makes sense?
I feel so sad about it.

They are really unsettling so I understand it can make you feel sad.
Keep a log of when they happen and see if there is a pattern. I noticed mine were happening late afternoon. I don't usually feel hungry or like to snack during the day so I focussed on making sure I didn't let myself get too dehydrated and had a healthy snack late afternoon and that seemed to help. They are not as frequent as they were so I think it was probably fluctuating hormones and very hot weather. It will pass X
