Last month I had to change from my beloved 2 pumps of gel and cyclogest pessaries due to my son helping himself to my oestrogen 😭
The GP gave me Everel 50 sequi and all seemed fine until I got to the progesterone patches. I now remember why I hated synthetic progesterone in my 20s. Rage, moodiness etc and then a terrifying silent migraine. I thought I was going blind until the optician explained what it was.
Today the doctor changed my script to what I asked for originally - oestrogen patch and utrogestan pills. Great I thought.
Except he’s given me Estradot 25 instead of 50 and Utrogestan 100mg for 25 days a month instead of 200mg for 14 days.
Am I right in thinking this is wrong for a 45 year old woman in Perimenopause?

You can use 2 x 25mcg patches until you can get 50s. In peri you'd be better with a sequi regime so 2x100mg utro for 12 days, days 15-26. It's virtually the same dose so the same prescription will be OK.

Thank you. Yes, good ideas. My brain doesn’t like thinking outside the box!
