Hi , I’ve been on HRT for four years , it’s been frustrating finding the right balance experiencing the odd spotting I’m post menopausal .
I’m just wondering if anyone is experiencing puffy ankles ? Even on a short haul flight I have to wear compression socks , I’m currently on holiday and we had a four hour drive I didn’t think to put the socks on and my ankles swelled
I do have to see the Dr on my return home as goodness knows what’s causing it ?

Do U sleep/sit with feet raised to help reduce the swelling?
When you touch the puffy area, does the indentation remain or does the skin spring back immediately?
R U taking diuretics?
Do U have the appt to C your GP?

The swelling only really happens in heat or when I’m travelling even sitting in a car for a couple of hours causes my ankles to swell
I do elevate them , Im not taking diuretic'sbut do take blood pressure meds Im currently on holiday but will be seeing my Dr , the puffiness does spring back when pressed

I always get in with the heat. It's usually gone down by morning. I also get it when flying, it's just the fluids pooling into your legs and ankles due to lack of movement, cabin pressure and circulation. I try to do ankle exercises and it's normally back to normal by the next day.

Thanks for your reply , I’m going to get checked out at my Dr’s none of my friends have this problem if anything seeing the Dr is peace of mind
Are you on HRT ?
-
No but I'm overweight which seems to be a factor.

Hi,
Some blood pressure meds cause swelling. I can't remember the name of the ones that affected my amkles and caused them to swell in the heat. Which ones are you on?

I’m on 2.5mg Lisinopril , I’ve been on them for years but have recently noticed my ankles swelling especially when travelling it’s really getting me down and I’m worried

Sorry you're feeling rubbish... swollen ankles does seem to be a side effect of your medication and is probably made worse by peri.
I would suggest going to your GP and try a different medication. I now take 2 together but no apparent side effects. The GP will probably want to check the liver function. I had priper elephant feet, but my liver results were fine.
Hot weather also made mine way worse.
Hope you find a solution xx
