Title: Feeling worried!
Post by: Banana11 on May 26, 2025, 06:59:50 PM
I’ve now had stomach ache for 2 weeks.  I’ve been on Everol conti for 3 months.  I’ve tried IBS treatments, increased fibre and peppermint in a bid for it to go away.  I’m beginning to think it’s something more sinister.  Any advice is so appreciated. X

Any unexplained aches and pains can raise worries - R U able to describe the pain: stabbing, aching, intermittent: like your've lifted something ?

It COULD still be the hrt, I was taking vagifem which is a tiny amount of topical oestrogen and about 2/3 months in it gave me awful stomach pain and I had to stop, the pains went but with any new pain, you must consult you GP

While HRT like Everol Conti can cause digestive changes, two weeks is enough to justify a proper check-up. It’s smart that you’ve already tried dietary adjustments, but this might need blood work, a pelvic exam, or imaging to rule out other causes. It’s likely nothing serious, but peace of mind is absolutely worth it

Thanks everyone for your replies.  JAYP0 I was on Everol Sequi before so could it be the increased progesterone?   Sophya I have been put on a 2 week referral 2 1/2 weeks ago.  CLKD - after a bleed the feeling carried on like period pains.  The pain def feels like a knot varying from under my rib cage to lower down and some lower back pain, on and off. X

Just a thought,  Have you considered gallstone pain as this is under the ribs and can radiate to the back or centre.  When you say 'on and off' is the pain more noticeable after eating especially a fatty item. Gallstones can come in various sizes and the pain can last for quite a while after an attack.

Sounds like you need to see a GP.

ps HRT can affect the gallbladder.

Sorry you’re experiencing this Banana; horrible for you and only made worse by having bad anxiety. You are not alone in this. Have a read about the ‘brain-gut connection’. It makes you realise how powerful our minds are. Also, to put your mind at rest, perhaps see your GP too. Let us know how you get on.

I think it would be wise to see a GP, as speculation isn’t helpful. They may refer you for a scan to check the pelvis etc.

Good luck.

Nas and CLKD to update you, I had my scan yesterday.  No fibroids and nothing sinister.  My womb lining is 5mm which apparently is the cut off point in other countries but in the uk it’s 4mm.  Because of this they have referred me for a biopsy.  The docs phoned to tell me the latter.  I said I’d been given conflicting opinions regarding HRT and she said 50 Everolconti has enough progesterone to enable me to take up to 100 Everol.  I still need to work out what is giving me stomach ache.  The scan lady said it looked like O was due to have a bleed.

Most people don't think the amount of norethisterone in the conti patch is sufficient for 100mcg patch. Why would it? If it's twice the amount needed for the 50mcg in the same patch they'd put less in.
