Title: Evorel 50 conti along with Ostrogel

Hello wondering if anyone can help.. was on evorel 50 conti patches for years and then started to get a bad rash. Doctor gave me new prescription  of oestrogel 
2 pumps at night  and Gepretix 100 mg.one at night.. weird dreams and have put alot of weight on around  my tummy and waistline..  im thinking of going back to the patches.. can you take oestrogel  with evorel 50 mg patches and what combination . I am 60 years old and also take testosterone half pump every day or so... if anyone has had same weight gain

You should not take additional estrogen alongside the combination patch unless you are under a specialist and having periodic endometrial scans, otherwise you risk endometrial hyperplasia due to potentially insufficient progestin to oppose the additional estrogen.

Also.... That sounds possibly quite a lot of testosterone depending on the strength -just check you are not taking too much.

If you're allergic to the evorel patches now you should use a different product, either a different brand of patch or gel/spray. Conti patches only come in 50mcg so if you need more you'll have to have a separate progestogen anyway. If you don't get on with gepretex there are other progestogens you could try (see Treatments tab from menu).

I found Evorel patches unbearably itchy, the smaller Estradot patches suited me better and I absorbed more from the Estradot as well.

Ask your GP what alternatives their practice uses, Estradot is only slightly more expensive for the NHS, they start everyone on Evorel Conti just incase it helps because it's the cheapest, but also not the best imo.
