Title: Help please I’m panicking
Post by: Drama on May 10, 2025, 05:28:02 PM
Hi I’ve been using Ovestin cream for 18 months and GP added Estrodial 10 mg vaginal pessaries 5 months ago take each twice a week for VA. Only had ultrasound 3 months ago and smear a fortnight ago all ok. I’m not on systematic HRT. Had breast tenderness for 2 weeks now and I’m bleeding for no reason and freaking out especially as I’m 3 years post menopausal. Anyone experienced this please and it turned out ok? Got GP appointment Monday thank you.

I hope you've had some reassurance from your GP.  I can't advise personally but am experiencing some unexpected bleeding myself and waiting to hear from my local gynae dept for an appointment.
Peri and menopause is a very stressful experience.  I could never have imagined how it would turn my life upside down.
I hope you are feeling a bit better.

I had both breast pain and spotting on two occasions I started vaginal estrogen. I had ultrasound scans and everything was fine. I used both vagifem and estriol cream now and it seems ok

Drama, when you first start vaginal estrogen, you can sometimes absorb a little bit systemically - especially if the lining is cracked and sore, allowing estrogen in.

This reduces if you keep using it because obviously the lining gets repaired.
