Title: Evorel Conti change to Evorel 50
Post by: EllieJ on April 28, 2025, 09:47:59 PM
Good evening everyone. So I have been bleeding at frequent intervals since November. Did the whole urgent 2WW referral, hideous Hysteroscopy and biopsy and all ok. Saw GP today who is changing me from Evorel Conte to Evorel 50 and a micronised progesterone tablet. He feels confident this will sort out the bleeding. Has anyone had experience of this please? I was ready to give up on HRT but as it has helped me by enabling me to sleep better and tackling some pretty awful mental side effects of menopause I was experiencing, my doctor wants me to persevere.

I could have written your post. Exactly the same experience with lots of bleeding on evorel conti and switched to evorel 50 and utrogestan. Bleeding stopped immediately and I feel great! I’m now 4 months from switching; I too was ready to give up. Good luck! 🤞

Wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for responding. I was a bit confused at first because I thought you had to take a break every few weeks on this regime but I understand that if you’re post menopausal you just take the progesterone every night and the patches twice weekly as with the Conti. All the best and thanks again for replying.

I think you take a break if you’re in perimenopause, but not in post menopause. That having been said, I think even post menopause, utrogestan  is sometimes taken 25 out of 28 days. My GP advised that there was no need to take a break at all however, and so I haven’t. Fingers crossed it’s as successful for you as it has been for me 😊
