Title: Starting Oestrogel and progesterone advice
Post by: Saz76 on April 11, 2025, 07:48:42 AM
Hi

I'm starting on Oestrogel and progesterone capsules (changing from patches). I've read in the progesterone leaflet that it's to be taken at bedtime. My query is, is there a best time for the gel? Do I need to alternate between application areas too?

Thanks

Hi gel is normally applied in the morning. Some say you should alternate application areas.  Others say it doesn’t matter. I generally use inner thighs and sometimes change to outer arms/ shoulders. I think you find what suits you and don’t worry too much about doing it one way or another.

Thanks for that.

Feel it's a bit of a minefield at times trying to make sure things are correct lol

I apply on a night on my inner thighs. And take Utrogestan on a night too. Don't know if that's right or wrong.
