Title: Missed progesterone
Post by: JJRRCC on March 14, 2025, 01:26:44 PM
Hi. I am currently on holiday and stupidly did not bring enough progesterone tablets with me (was thinking I only took 1 a night instead of 2!) Am on cyclical HRT.
Basically I didn’t have enough for 4 days of the 12. So instead of starting on day 15 I started on day 19.
My question is: shall I end on scheduled day 26 and not worry about the missed first 4 days or should I continue to take 4 days more when I return from my holiday and go I to my next cycle?
Hope this makes sense….!
Thanks in advance

It will make not a jot of difference in the grand scheme of things.

Anything above 10 days of progesterone is adequate for endometrial protection.

If you are still having regular periods and happen to be that person with a regular 28 day cycle that is in every textbook but no clinician has ever actually met, and you are expecting your natural period to coincide with stopping the progesterone, then I would stop on the same day you planned to, otherwise your period and the withdrawal bleed could end up out of sync.
