Title: Progesterone
Post by: Polpringle on February 20, 2025, 04:53:18 PM
I take 200mg utrogestan vaginally, but was wondering if it's possible to take 100mg vaginally and 100mg orally?

Strange  way to take it I know but I really suffer from insomnia, have done for about 15years due to fibromyalgia, my friend takes hers orally and says she has the best sleep

Of course you can. In fact it is usually prescribed orally in the UK.

Both routes are acceptable including splitting the dose between oral and vaginal.

The only exception would be if there was a medical reason why you were prescribed it vaginally in the first place such as malabsorption or bariatric surgery etc which might render it less effective - if this was the case you'd be better taking an extra one orally for sleep.
