Title: Estriol cream and pelvic discomfort.
Post by: helen2024 on February 10, 2025, 08:49:18 AM
Hi
I have just changed to Estriol cream from Vagifem because I had a sticky discharge for last 6 months that just wouldn’t go away using Vagifem/Vagirux.
One week in it’s much better but have been suffering cramps in lower abdomen.
Has anyone else had this? It’s not on list of side effects on medicine leaflet.

I believe that discharge is normal as the fillers seep back out.  I have had no problems with estriol but it mayB a side effect which will go after 2-3 weeks of using every night.

Once the vaginal walls are plumped up any slight internal 'spread' of the product should stop as it's a very local medication.

Its not uncommon and I only know this from other posts I've read here with the same side effects you are experiencing.
It could be that you're oestrogen sensitive but if you search the forum with the relevant words you might find helpful posts, for instance needing a lower dose  topical oestrogen.
